The pharmacists in this store are exceptional and have served Nanaimo for a very long time. They are never to busy to take time in person or on the phone to answer your questions. This store is fully stocked but also takes the time to special order in products that they don't normally carry if t\a customer is looking for something; and always done with a smile! I can't say enough good things about the employees in this store including the pharmacy, cosmetic department, home health department, and checkouts. If you want friendly service in an easy to shop in environment, give the Pharmasave on Bowen Road a try; you won't be disappointed.

We walked around inside to pass time until closer to our movie start time at the Galaxy Cinema. Both are located inside the Rutherford Mall. London Drugs has everything from computer and electronics to grocery and beauty products to appliances and cleaning supplies but the pharmacy is the heart of their business. It has an interesting history behind it like how it got its name. The store was named after London, England, the home of Canada's King, George VI. Founded in 1945 it started off as a small drugstore to what they are now. We purchased some snacks to take home later. The shelves are fully stocked. It's just the prices aren't really appealing. Many simple items are more expensive than Walmart or Best Buy for example. It's hard to recommend because of that. Shop around before getting something here. I haven't tried their print services lately but in the past they weren't too great, nor were they cheap enough to be worth using again. There isn't much reason to shop here compared to the competitors.

I told him my situation and he found a copy of my receipt in the system, printed it, scanned it, and then emailed it to me within 5 minutes of hanging up the phone. Thanks Chris, you really helped me out and saved me a mountain of hassle. Everyone complains when they get even slightly inconvenienced, but rarely is anyone as vocal when someone goes way out of their way to provide great customer service. The staff at LD is competent, friendly and professional, none of the above is true for central drugs staff who constantly took it upon themselves to repeatedly question my Dr's. Perscription changes meaning I was often without my medications, at times while he was away on holidays. This has been my pharmacy of choice for several years because of the pharmacy manager Carmen. She is so committed to our care. She will not mince words in order to please you or support your friends' garbage health advice. She is no BS, to the point. Too bad for those people who want a butt-kisser, but I'm okay if they go elsewhere to find one. Thank-you for being there for us. Remember: These pharmacy people/staff are working at risk, for our benefit. They are not immune and may fall sick as easily as anyone. Sadly, I keep witnessing some very poor customer behaviour on my visits. I must go regularly, so I see some, too many, customers being unreasonable, demanding and selfish. Shame on you. Behave with honour and have some dignity. Other customers are watching you and know your poor behaviour is so wrong. Thankfully, most I see are well behaved people, who understand that the workload has probably nearly doubled in all front-line health services from just a week ago. They were upset that I came late to pick up a prescription after my daughter was hospitalized. I told them I would take my business elsewhere, and have since found out they had been charging me 25% more than the pharmacy I am using now. I will never buy anything from Central Drugs again.
