This is a cute little toy store in the middle of Solvang proper. The usual Roto-molded plastic and injected rubber import stuff is here with the Solvang markup, but honestly, that's every store and these folks gotta pay the rent. As you shop throughout the town for things you categorically don't need, give this spot a look for the youngest member on your gift list. The owner was friendly and welcoming, but I gotta believe the "you break it, you buy it" rule will be applied here with brute force.

I received one paper bookmark with my purchase and I asked for a few more (I'm a teacher in the LA area and I like to put them in my classroom for my students) and the woman ringing me up made it awkward and reluctantly gave me one more. I found it funny but also quite weird. It was like giving up an opportunity for free advertising! Anyway, I'll still go back because I love this place and the people who work there are usually very friendly and helpful. The bookmark awkwardness was an anomaly. The shop is cute and it's always so well curated. Sometimes they have blind date picks that are cheap and fun to open. I always find so many books I want there. I like their used book selection upstairs as well. Must visit as indie bookstores are so few and far between these days!

A few people were in the room so he waited until they were done building their cars and racing on the track. We sat around talking to the staff and other parents who came into the Glow Room. We both used the restrooms and were happy to find they were clean and stocked. The store overall was clean and organized. We liked looking at the displays and the sets available. The three staff members we interacted with during our visit were super friendly. We liked that they offered party packages and we may have to plan a party on one of our visits to SLO.
