The car was making weird noises, was riding rough, and had several error lights come up on the dash board. I brought the car to this American Tire Depot location because I normally go to a location in San Diego (where I live) and my car tires were under warranty. The team - especially Joel - were super nice, quick, and most importantly honest. They were able to quickly get a new tire on my car, answered the several questions I had, and even checked out the warning lights and car in general. It was important for me to feel comfortable because I needed to drive my family back to San Diego and wanted to ensure my car was safe to drive. Thank you Joel and team for being good to me. Because I had always been treated nicely I decided to go with 4Star for my automotive needs. My radio went out and the car was old, so the only radios to be found were out of wrecks, etc. They ordered one and when it came in, it didn't work. Then they told me it wasn't refundable. I would never have ordered a used part that wasn't refundable. I was surprised when they charged me for the whole cost, I would have at least expected them to split with me. They did find a radio that worked so I did get that done. I was upset that I wasn't given a choice to order a nonrefundable part, especially if I had been told I would have to pay for it whether it worked or not. Very disappointed. They're great for smog checks but as for anyother service?

So I have been bringing my vehicles here for a long time. I could go to the dealer, but Jiffy is…read moreclose and it has been affordable in the past. They offer good service and always point out issues they see with the vehicles which is good if you didn't know about something. However last week, I came in and was quoted my normal signature service. Now this price has steadily gone up for the past few years and I get it. But today I came in and was quoted $182. Pricey but not unexpected from my last visit 5,000 miles ago. Then after they get started, the manager comes out and says they mid quoted me $279. Apparently the prices went up and they are charging more for Diesel trucks. It makes no sense to me that because I drive a diesel, the synthetic oil should be $90 higher. When I complained about it the manager came out and knocked off $30. He also gave me a 50% discount on my next visit. I guess I should be happy about the discount next time, but the dealership is probably going to see me more often with these rates continuing to go up. Cheers
