Their latest, use your debit card 10 times a month or pay a $10 fee. Before that, I had to have an automatic withdrawal from checking to savings each month to avoid the fees.... every other year or so over the last decade they have done the same kind of thing. The drive through ends up being a long (overly energetic and forced) conversation as they plow you over with mandated friendliness. I appreciate a "hi", a "how are you" and even a "how can I help you".... but wow, they just do all that times 10. I just want to scream back "I'm trying to count here! Sssshhhhh!". Visit before last, I got told I couldn't make a cash deposit into my checking account without ID. Hmmmm. I'm trying to fraudulently deposit cash into someone else's account? I plan on closing my account this spring and I'd just recommend about any other bank in town over these guys.

Regardless of the loan being ready for submittal they went ahead and pulled a hard inquiry on my wife and myself's credit without our verbal consent or written consent from what I can remember reading. After a few week's waiting for the title they were extremely slow to respond to any out reach and ended up denying the loan anyways because of a hiccup in the title. Ended up going through a different credit union and it took them all of a few days to have the whole process sorted would not ever go back to uccu.

Springville staff are the most friendly and accommodating people imaginable although I would use Orem, American Fork, and Pleasant Grove offices anytime when convenient. Was so eager to get a loan that she pulled a hard credit report at the start of the loan process screwing our credit score for 3 years. THEN she sent me an email at 11:30am requesting money for the appraisal. I am a working man and planned on doing it that evening. However, before 4:00pm she texted me and said that there was a problem with the house (non-conventional build) and the appraiser couldn't do it because she had no knowledge of the build type, and that was AFTER a request was made to find an appraiser that understood non-conventional builds. To make a bad situation worse, she emailed me, stating that I owed money for what work was done in the appraisal. WHAT A JOKE! If you or anyone you know are seeking any type of mortgage, I would STRONGLY suggest NOT using AFCU! And if you do decide to continue and you are paired with Cheryl D. I wish you good luck. I opened an account with this Credit Union in 2014. I moved my banking to a bigger credit union…read morewhen I move to Salt Lake City and closed my accounts because they didn't have a UCCU in SLC. I moved back to Utah County a few years later and decided to make them my primary banking option because I had liked them previously. Upon going to open a checking they let me know my savings was still open. I didn't mind since I was coming back but had no idea about it was still open. A month later (May 2018) after opening the account I received an email. The email stated they were auditing their paperwork and I hadn't signed all the forms they need when I opened my account. I went in to the branch to see what forms I had missed and they wanted to have me sign a piece of paper stating they could run my credit anytime they wanted to. (I assume everyone probably signs that form unaware of what they are signing) I told them I will not allow them to run my credit unless I ask them to. As most of us know your score is our livelihood. I left and a week later I get a letter in the mail stating they will be closing my account if I don't sign it. Closed account. No thank you UCCU!!! Glad I read the paperwork before signing and maybe next time you open an account for someone check and make sure your paperwork is complete!
