My family and I have been doing business with this autobody company for the past 20 years! My last experience that I had there was just terrible! Unfortunately, I dealt with a man named Jason instead of Tony that is who I usually dealt with, Jason told me that my insurance company argued with him about my car rental that I didn't need one because my car was movable. That was not true because I asked them. He also told me that they did not want to pay for some of the repairs on my car that was not true either. He also kept calling me up telling me he didn't know how he was going to fix my car. He had to figure it out because Ford doesn't make the parts anymore so he had me all upset too ! Unfortunately, we will no longer do business with these people. Not to mention when I picked up my vehicle I had a headlight out and they refused to fix it saying it was not out when I left the body shop. I noticed it was out the moment I got home and they were in complete denial unfortunately it was a very expensive HID light and it cost me $250 to replace it ! A word to the wise!! There is a a place in Roselle called Stan's everybody at the health club in my hair salon are talking about it.! Make sure you check it out. Dissapointed by quality of work done. Went back several times to fix body panel alignment and fix areas where there was obvious overspray. Later on noticed that there was still damage under the hood and wasn't fixed at all. They offered to take another look at it and leave it for a few days but that's doesn't help without a rental car. It should've been done right the first time. Now my bumper is separating from fender where it was held on together with super glue which I mentioned the first time I brought it back. Now I have to look at this horrible workmanship every day when I look at my car. UPDATE: they get back to you 4 years later via social media with a snazzy remark read more

I had previously complained about my sun visors being switched and now I've noticed my hub caps have been switched too. My car is just 3-4 years old. The hub caps are now all worn out and have really really bad scratches all over it. Who knows what else central auto body has switched under the hood that I can't tell. Buyer beware .. The team at Central repaired my wife's SUV after she was backed into. Her driver's side door was mangled and she couldn't get in the SUV without climbing over the center console and opening the door from the inside. The entire staff at Central, especially Scott and Samantha, was extremely professional and completed the work one day ahead of their estimate, and the SUV looks like new! Central's team took care of all the billing, even calling the adjuster from the other party's insurance company to make sure everything was covered. Samantha arranged for a rental for my wife, and everything was taken care of without any effort on our end. This was the complete repair package! I took my car there for some acid rain damage, and asked if it could be taken out by compounding. I was assured that it could not, and was handed a $1300 estimate to repaint about half the car. I went home and lo and behold the discoloration came out in less than five minutes using compound. When I called them to explain they said first that they don't allow silicon based products like compound in their shop for health reasons, and second that is was only a visual estimate. Very high priced so best to use them if insurance will cover it as they are a preferred vendor by most insurance companies. My complaint is after the body work was finished i noticed a lot of buffer trails on the paint a couple weeks later, not that they appeared a couple weeks later just didn't notice them for a couple weeks.. Buffer trails are swirls that appear on your car if you look at it from the correct angle with lighting (Sunshine). So now i have to use a high end car polisher to hopefully remove these myself. My 2016 Honda Civic's bumper was damaged in an accident so I stopped by for a free estimate. I met Tony Rompala who is the estimator and he not only looked at my car immediately,he had my estimate ready in no time. After I agreed and we set the date he basically arranged the car rental for me as well. Talk about a "hands on" guy. On the day I arrived to drop off my car my rental was ready and I was back on the road in no time. Tony and I worked out a few details via email and then I noticed that the owner of the company was responding when Tony was busy. I honestly was amazed. Here is the highest rank getting involved in a small job. I also dealt with Scott via phone and again, incredibly polite and knowledgeable. Midweek, I was updated on the progress and as promised I got a call on that Friday saying that my car was ready. At this point, to be honest I felt 100% certain that my car would look great. When I arrived I was helped by a young lady who took my rental keys and went through a list of items to make sure I remembered to remove from the rental. Then Tony took me out to my vehicle and proudly showed me the results. You absolutely would not know it had been in an accident. From start to finish, I had an amazing experience and never had to chase down anyone for answers. The rest of my car was cleaned spotless and there was no "overspray" on any areas of the body or glass. I would recommend them to about anyone that would listen to me. I make my living as a police officer so I am trained to observe. I did not see any way that they could have done any better as a team. Highly recommend NOT to go here. Service is not there owner is extremely rude and work is very poor for what they charge. I took in my 2005 Mercedes with over 18k damage!!! that was fixed but come to find out i needed another 10k!!!! worth of work that i took into the dealer to have repaired. They are a scam and fixed only what they did so they would not go over my insurance preimium only so my insurance company would not total out my car. This was there way of making money by not telling the insurance company what else i needed fixed. I also recived my car back from them with door panels inproperly installed, emblems that came off with the flick of a finger & the worst i had a control arm that was hand tightened!!!! They let me drive off the lot with a very unsafe car. 100% unhappy and will never refer them to anyone i know. read more

People please consider other shops!!! This is my experience at Central Auto Body when I came in to get a quote for a minor scratch on the rear bumper of my Mercedes. I just recently moved into the neighborhood from the West Coast and was looking for a good body shop that can fix my vehicle. I was recommended to Central Auto Body from a co-worker who also lives in the neighborhood. From the outside the establishment looked to be in order, the building seemed fairly clean and kept up and seemed like my co-worker was right, this might turn out to be a good place. However, after meeting the staff inside I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I despise. As soon as I entered the office I was taken off-guard by the scene I witnessed. First off, a taller individual ( I would assume is a manager or owner of some kind) was sitting behind the front counter screaming profanity at the top of his lungs at another co-worker across the office about some kind of mistake that was made on a car in the shop. The front desk receptionist looked at me and asked how she can help me and I stated I would like an estimate on my vehicle. She politely handed me a clipboard and told me to fill out the top half of the form. Meanwhile the gentlemen behind the counter continued to yell and scream like a little two year old at another co-worker about another issue. Eventually he got up from his chair (red-faced an all) and stormed out of the office into the shop. Here is a word of advice to the owner: Fire that individual sitting behind the front counter with the big mouth. Just make sure you do it behind closed doors, because what I witnessed that day was nothing less than pure ignorance and disregard for others feelings. Needless to say, I went elsewhere to get my car fixed (for a lot less too btw at a place called America's Auto Body in Schaumburg) and they did a great job!!! **A little side note** After getting home, I decided to look up Central Auto Body with the BBB. Turns out they are rated as an F and have been around a while but failed to resolve any complaints filed through the BBB. In addition to a failing grade, it turns out; my Insurance company has Central listed as a preferred repair facility!!!! WHAT?! Maybe they need to visit this place before they list it as a "preferred" location. Just a thought. read more

I had my car repaired here a few years ago and despite the high price they job was completed to satisfaction. So why only 1 star do you ask? I recently stopped in to have them paint 2 parts I had already removed from my car. I needed them prepped, painted satin black, and clear coated. I met with Tony whom I emailed earlier in the week. I told him what I needed done and he gave me a price $350. The price seemed high but I wanted the parts to come out perfect and "thought" they would do a thorough job. I picked them up later in the week and was told I could only pay in cash. Tony noted how good they turned out and pointed out a few spots that were "fixed". When I brought the parts home and inspected them closer I noticed that none of the small nicks were fixed and it was obvious they only used one layer of paint and no clear. I didn't think a reputable shop would screw over their customers on even the smallest of jobs. Honestly I could have done a better job with a rattle can in less than an hour. I had been recommending them over the years in several of the car community's that I belong to but will warn anyone from now on who plans to have work done by them to beware. read more
