My son loves CAC (he attends a different campus), but I need to write a review for this place, as he has special needs and I often travel to this location since it's the main campus. The issue I have with this location (and all its campuses) is that administration has terrible communication and accountability. I'm listed on my son's special release forms to be present if he requests it, and though I only go as needed and upon his request, the campus officials will tell me I can't be there (even though the forms clearly give me permission). I'm not there to be nosy or interfere. I'm simply there for the reason my son requested my presence and has given me and the school written consent. For accommodation requests, this has always been an issue where he'll schedule an appointment, go over the accommodations he needs, and receives an email a few days to a few weeks later, saying he needs to send in paperwork that has already been submitted. Not only that, but his teachers at his campus have said repeatedly they haven't received his accommodations, and emailing/calling the main location doesn't do much good because no one seems to communicate. I will say also that Jen in Accommodations is very sweet and thorough--I just wish I knew why her email wasn't shared with the rest of the department when it came to his paperwork because it was never submitted. When the social worker from the state came with him to help him with his accommodations and he filled out written consent forms for her as well, the staff at the Maricopa campus were rude and unhelpful to her, telling her they wouldn't speak to my son with her present. After repeatedly going in person, the staff told him he was set to go but never gave him an award letter, and wouldn't give him information upon request. There aren't a lot of options when it comes to classes, and because of low enrollment even for basic classes for core requirements, they end up cancelled. If you're seeking affordable classes, this is an okay option, but not one I'd personally recommend (and I say this as someone who attended a junior college in very rural, backwater East Texas with even fewer options). I will say that when I do bring him here, and he goes in to set up his appointments, the front desk staff go out of their way to help him, and he never has complaints from their assistance, even if they can't necessarily resolve the issues. Classes are often mixed up on his schedules or cancelled outright without notice, and he often has to come to this location just to receive answers, but he's happy. I write this as a parent of a special needs child entering adulthood, and I want to make other parents aware that this college has some severe communication issues, but does try to be helpful. It's a bit tough to navigate, but they do have locations in the smaller towns that may be beneficial to your children until they prepare to enter a 4 year university. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone unless you want to retake classes repeatedly and have permanent failures on your transcripts because staff can't do their jobs and refuse to coordinate or communicate. Go spend your money on a better school with quality staff. read more

The campus in Coolidge is beautiful! We went for a volleyball tournament and was so impressed with the grounds and how nice it was.

I was trying to get information from their admissions staff. They might respond to your email and if you have a follow up question, nope that's to much work, they blow you off. If you leave a voice mail they will not return your call. They never answer the phones. I had to email the assistant to the Dean of the department I was interested in and he actually emailed and then we talked on the phone and in just a few minutes I had the information I needed. The Dean, John was very helpful but he had to do the job other people should have done. I hope he doesn't have to be the groundskeeper and janitor too because they don't want to do their jobs.! It wasn't easy to find this person either. I wasted a lot of time, waited for days for replies one person was supposedly out and didn't change their email that they were back in office. Very unprofessional behavior. I wouldn't attend this school because I know I wouldn't get needed help if needed. read more

This is a wonderful little community college that is truly a hidden gem outside Casa Grande. Great faculty and environment. If you have a high school kid looking for a great start or pathway to a University, definitely check out. Many skilled trade programs and certificates for those young adults or a person just looking for a career change and not looking for a typical degree. This junior college is not well known by most. If you are a high school athlete looking to continue your sport check them out. There have been some power house teams at CAC and notable sports alumni got their start here. $86.00 per credit hour! read more

The Community college band gave one of their best performances ever. With Rick Moore directing, this show was bound to be great but I have to say Mr Moore and his staff went above and beyond what anyone would expect. The show having been mostly about the past Hollywood and Disney movie themes, brought you back to what it might have been like back then. The songs were spot on, and the effects complimented their show even more. I have been a fan of the music program here for years and will continue to come to events at this college in years to come. Rick Moore, Ron Bowen and Mr Lee have done great things here in the past and I am sure with support Mr Moore and his staff will continue the tradition of a high standard music program. There is a jazz concert at 7 pm on Thursday the 27th. Please take the time to come out and enjoy this outstanding program if you are able. It will be well worth your time. read more

The Fire Science program is one of the best in the state. The curriculum has been recognized by FESHE and the National Fire Academy. It is also one of two colleges with an accredited Fire Science degree through IFSAC. It utilizes local career firefighters as instructors and continues to bring in tools and props for enhanced instruction. read more
