Friendly office staff. Very knowledgeable and compassionate dr who takes his time with you. Listens to you.

Had a horrible experience with this office. Saw MD and NP on different occasions. Neither did any physical exam. Yet when I contacted my insurance company about why an MRI was refused, there were physical exams documented. Falsifying medical records is a criminal offense. Department of Public Health in Rhode Island was notified. They did nothing. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I was referred to this doctor because I was in a motor vehicle accident. He refused to see me even after assuring I would pay cash and nothing had to be run through my insurance. Prime example of how G-D Awful the RI medical system has become. Nor would he even give me a referral to someone who can help. Meantime I've been in pain for over a month. Wouldn't recommend this office at all. I am still in shock how rude and inconsiderate this guy was. I knew when I walked in and spoke to the lady at the desk I was in the wrong office. He did nothing but talk into his voice message and was throwing the paperwork in his garbage that I brought. Arrogant, cold as ice and just awful. if there was a 0 that is what I would give him . Never has there been such an incompetent practice as this. Miscommunication galore. No one talks to anyone, everything is putting things in notes or reading notes. Screw up upon screw up. Doctor is arrogant, doesn't look at the patient, let alone examine them, because he's too busy typing on or looking at his computer or looking at his phone. He has no bedside manner, if you will. Staff is always making mistakes. They love making the patient chase their tail to rectify something the staff messed up and then acting like it's not their fault that it happened when called out for it. First Words Out Of The Secretaries Mouth " We Are Short Staffed" It looked like she was having a horrible day, and I was the last patient of the day and she wanted to take out her frustrations on me. Well, I am not the one to take it out on! Dr Joseph Centofanti of Cranston has to be one of the most unprofessional, incompetent doctors in the State of Rhode Island! I went to him after I was on a deck and the railing collapsed causing me to hit my head and back. I was referred to Dr. Joseph Centofanti by my chiropractor because I was getting severe headaches, numbness in my hands and several other neurological issues. After the first consult with Dr Centofanti ( who looks at you for 2 minutes then plugs in his headset and dictates his notes) he said he wants to do other testing at his office. So he scheduled a couple of unnecessary tests which of course the insurance did not cover. I had blue cross at the time. The test were about $1000. After the tests I was still having the same issue, so I went to my primary care and he ordered a MRI. Guess what the MRI found 3 herniated discs in my neck! Dr Centofanti did not think of ordering a MRI all he wanted was more testing at his office to add to his bottom line! So I call his office and tell them and they were shocked to say the least! They asked if I could come in to follow up with the doctor. i said ok, they made a appointment for 3 months out, which was in January! Yesterday I get a courtesy call from their office to confirm our appointment for today at 12:45 pm. I get to the office today, first thing they ask for is a Credit Card, I tell them I forgot my wallet ( they want to try to collect all there money upfront). In actuality I had my credit cards on me. I tell the secretary I have a new insurance United Health, she says sorry we cant take this unless you have a referral??? I replied I do have a referral that is how I came here in the first place! She states NO that I need a referral from my primary!!! I told her I have 3 herniated discs in my neck which the so called DR never found, I have several other issues, you guys asked me to come back in and now you wont let me see the dr??? Well I gave them a piece of my mind and left. I will be filing a complaint with the department of health against this so called DR Joseph Centofanti! There are plenty of other neurologist in Rhode Island, do not use University Neurology in cranston if you want to get better!!!! PS... I just received a call from the Cranston Police stating " it is in my best interest not to go back there" Guess what I will NEVER go back to Dr. joseph Centofanti. FYI. Do NOT go to this office. Dr Centofanti shouldn't even be practicing. Last year he almost killed me putting me on medications I was allergic too after I told him I couldn't take it. They seem to not be able to get there prescription called into the correct parmacy either. The office has a snobby lady at the front desk. She doesn't seem to know what she was doing. She seem very unhappy to be there. So beware stay away from this place. read more
