They had a special on tapas to choose from on a chalkboard menu for a set price. Service was dandy. My partner got the latte and from the smell of it it seemed top notch! Also he said it was pretty damn special - so take his word for it guys :) So when hungover, time went by real slow for me. I was content sitting there spacing out and sipping on my OJ. Had I not been hungover though, I would have realized that 35 minutes went by and we didn't have our food yet. During that 35 minutes my partners coffee was long gone and 2 times that a waitresses came over she never offered him another coffee..! One of the waitresses came over extremely apologetic and promised us it was 5 mins away and admittedly they forgot about our order.. Dan was pretty dejected from this moment and wasn't very impressed with the place! They redeemed themselves though! Firstly they offered a second round of drinks on the house, and the food did come within 5 mins (notice that by the time we had our food we were now able to order the Reuben.. There's a decent bakery selection as well, and service is quite prompt and friendly. They're also relatively accommodating for variations to their menu (e.g. if you didn't want something in your meal). Staff are also pretty knowledgeable about the menu. I'm not a fan of their toast though, which always seems to come out really hard and almost impossible to cut. I'm not sure why that's the case; maybe the bread is heated twice or something but there have been times when people I've eaten at G&F with have had to abandon their knives and just tear at their toast with their hands and teeth to get some. Parking is just whatever you can come by on the street, but I've usually just walked here since it's relatively local.
