Nothing too fancy but for the price it's a great deal. I also like the fact that all the other locations are included in the membership. The people working are always friendly and willing to help or answer any questions you may have. The facility is clean and every time I come it never seems overly crowded. I come here specifically for the group classes. I mainly take Yoga, Barre and Iron Bodies but have loved every other one that I have tried. I do wish they offered more classes (especially Barre) but it's a small town and limited classes are to be expected. I'm just happy I don't have to drive 30mins to workout. :-)

I spotted a sign to Bowie Park, including its nature centre, and turned in to check it out. It is a beautiful park with majestic trees. It felt so much cooler simply driving in this park because the trees shielded you from the heat and provided some much needed relief. Bowie Park has over 700 acres of forest and lakes. It also has 17 miles of trails. You can essentially go biking, horseback riding, fishing, running, and walking in nature. Park hours are between 5 am and 10 pm. I am assuming that gates block your way into this park when it's closed. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief drive into the park. You can park your car and take advantage of doing a hike or whatever activity you feel like doing while connecting with nature. It was so hot that I wasn't feeling a hike. A touristy car ride was good and a nice change of pace. I found the nature centre. It's a place for visitors to learn more about the park. It has nature exhibits, brochures, and art. It features the Bowie museum, which shares the history of the Bowie family and their gifting the park to Fairview. This centre has classes throughout the year on learning about this park. It also has staff offices and public restrooms. This park was named after Dr. Evangeline Bowie. Her family had purchased this plot of land in the 1950's. It was eroded and in poor condition. It went through a transformation of being bulldozed and redesigned into the forest that exists today. It was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon when I was here. I'd love to return and take a walk when it's not scorching hot. It felt peaceful and relaxing while I was here during my car tour. It's such a gem. It was an unexpected, cool find. (320)

This is my experience as someone who came here just to hike. The trails are great! They are not…read moreovergrown and the trail markers are bright and large! I would appreciate some wood signs discerning the junctions from one another. There are several social trails that will mislead you and could easily be fixed with a social trail sign or caution tape. I color coded the map attached to this review to show my route. I parked at the trailhead for the fitness trail. I walked the pink line to the museum and walked the yellow line back. Once I took a break, I did the green line. Due to poor planning I didn't realize the bike trail wasn't a loop and so I didn't intend to do two there and back hikes I'm not sure why it's not a loop as it could likely be connected from where it ends at the amphitheater to the 0.40 mile mark on the part of the bike trail headed straight to the museum... The visitor center/museum can be walked to from the bike trail. It's got information and artifacts from David Crockett's life and stuff. They also have several birds of prey outside that you can view anytime. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful when kids want to learn about the birds.

Hubby and I drove a good bit of this parkway while visiting Nashville for New Years. We stopped in Franklin and walked around Main St, drove through Leiper's Fork, visited the gravesite of Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark and saw 2 waterfalls (Jackson Falls and Fall Hallow). We also stopped to walk a short trail to old limestone mines. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

The State park is well taken care of however the areas are all separated and must be driven…read morebetween. Lakefront camping spots have no electric or water access. Bath house near lakefront camping has bathrooms but no shower. The lake front camping spots are gravel and are going to be rough on your tarp/tent/airmattress/feet. Happy Hollow looks fantastic and I definitely would've loved to stay there. They have hook-ups, bathrooms, and showers. There is no longer a playground at happy hallow like it shows on the map and lists on the website. We went to Eva Beach recreation area and there is a playground there but it's about a 12 minute drive from the campgrounds. The recreation area had a sandy beach, but a foul smell and the water was very dirty. There are 2 large factories that make a humming noise that can be heard from the campgrounds and constantly seeing the large plumes of smoke from them on both sides of the lake ruins the nature side of things. The cabins were nice. Lakefront camping spots are not kid friendly - lake on one side and a road that people fly down on the other. I personally wouldn't recommend this park especially for families but if you have to stay here then stay at happy hollow.

By using the printed guide maps coupled with our map apps we navigated the twists & turns without any significant issues. The trails are well groomed and fairly well marked. The large park has 3-4 covered picnic pavilions and a canoe launch ramp. Located midway between Columbia TN & Santa Fe TN off of TN-7.
