A week went by with no response. I called and they said they were waiting on my spouse's employers to confirm his employment. So he checked in with them, and they had not received anything from Urban Alternatives. I kindly requested that they re-send the verification form, multiple times. 12 days before we needed to be out of our apartment, I called and asked them to please call his employers because their emails were not getting through. The woman I spoke with was not pleased with this request. That night, I started googling UA and found that our experience was not unique. It is likely that they are showing apartments to people who they have no intention of renting to, just to collect application fees. I called one last time, ten days before our move-out date, and the woman I spoke with tried to gaslight me, saying that she told me that their process can take a couple of weeks. This is nonsense, and I would have said as much if she had ever mentioned this to me in the past. They never reached out to my spouse's employers or called or emailed us again. We ended up having to put all of our belongings in storage and crash couches with our foster dog. Total nightmare. Terrible people.
