My son and I went to Centershot for the first time about two months ago. We had only been to one other shooting range prior to trying Centershot. The person working the counter was really helpful and got us squared away pretty quickly. Although we didn't rent one of their firearms on our initial visit, they have a pretty extensive selection if you don't have your own or are looking to try something out. We brought our own eye and ear protection, but they can provide it if you don't have your own (I believe for a nominal fee). The range officer that day was fantastic. Since it was our first time at Centershot, he gave us a quick tutorial on how to operate the computerized targeting system. Within a couple minutes we were all set up and firing down range. There are a total 12 shooting lanes split into two areas - 8 lanes on one side and 4 lanes on the other. The range was very clean and the targeting system worked flawlessly. We've been back to Centershot several times within the past two months, it's been great each and every time. Sometimes it can get a little busy and crowded in the storefront area, but I think they do a good job of taking care of their customers. Prices seem pretty reasonable and all of my interactions with the staff have been great. Highly recommended. read more

First time going to a gun range and they were more than helpful. I love the renting/try it before you buy it system. I brought in a gun of my own and when I was having cycling issues the workers gave me suggestions and helped me get it figured out. Would recommend to anyone new to shooting or any seasoned shooters. I had hoped to show off this range to my wife and friend. We put our names in and told there would be a 30-minute wait. We didn't feel 30 minutes was too excessive, but after waiting over 40 minutes, I went down to check on our reservation and was told that my name was called. This was a bold lie. All three of us were standing right in front of the counter and could clearly hear all the conversations everyone was having. I was told our reservation had been given away and there would be another 20-minute wait. For a range of this quality, I would expect better customer service. I have been invited to come every other Thursday night but, I don't plan on coming back any time soon. I hope the service is stepped up for new customers. Normally my siblings and I go Black Friday shopping, but this year, we broke the tradition and came to this shooting range. I don't like guns...still don't like guns, but siblings insisted I needed to practice shooting. I'm not gonna lie, I hated the entire experience. I've never been around since guns before so the sound of the firing scared the crap out of me. Why the 4 stars? Because the facility itself was one of the better ones. My brother lives in Galesburg, but prefers this place because it's safer. I wouldn't have thought this, but this place promotes itself as a family friendly range. My sister has actually brought her 8 yr old son here before. When you first arrive, you have to sign a waiver. Then let you know how long you want to practice for. We rented two lanes. Rate was $27.00 / hr for two people in the same lane, $5 for an additional person. They provided ear protection free of charge. Eye protection is required as well. I'm not sure if it's also free since we all brought our own. Basic target sheets were free, but their is a small fee for the cooler looking ones. There was a short wait for our lane to become available. We walked into a small enclosed room, once you're in that room, we had to make sure the door from the main shop is closed before we opened the door to the shooting range. There were two different rooms for the range. The room we practiced in had 4 lanes. There's a staff member to help assist with the motorized target system, gave tips on how to shoot, sweep up the shell casings, and just help monitor the safety of the customers. I did ok for my first time, even got a bullseye. I was told I'll get used to it but don't think I'll want to. Even though I prefer to continue the Black Friday shopping tradition, this seems like it's a safe place to practice for both novice and expert shooters. read more

One of Centershot's workers is hospitalized with Covid-19 as of 11/21/20. If you've been there in the preceding 14 days, has anyone notified you to self quarantine and get tested? Has the facility shut down and other workers self quarantined and been tested until it's known whether it's safe to go there or not? This would be SOP in any other Michigan business with a known Covid-19 exposure. Hopefully Centershot is in compliance with Covid guidelines. You may wish to call them before going there to see what they are doing about this unfortunate, but predictable course of events. read more

This was my first time at centershot. I just bought a new pistol and this was my first time shooting it. It was also my first time alone at the range. They were all very nice to me, very welcoming and helpful. The lanes are easy to operate and the prices are reasonable. I hope to go back soon. read more
