Cleaned and tuned our two bikes and was done in two weeks. Excellent customer service.

I've gone into Center Street Cycles a few times since moving to Brunswick and everyone there is very knowledgeable and interested in helping you find the most cost effective solution if that's what you're looking for. Jim helped me identify my problem and informed me on what I needed to do to save as much as possible. All the stars :) read more

The best bike shop in Brunswick. The owner is kind and accommodating, and always has extra knowledge to offer. I would hope my bike doesn't break again, but if/when it does, I will be bringing it straight here. read more

These guys were awesome! I brought my brand new bike to Brunswick for a ride (took almost 2 hours to get there) and when I started my ride, I realized the gears weren't working. I got the bike to bring me to their shop and they took the bike right in the back, figured out the problem, fixed it, and sent me on my way within about 5 minutes. They wouldn't take payment and were soooo friendly. They even suggested a good route for me to ride. I can't say enough good things about my experience there! read more

I am working in Brunswick for the summer months and needed a bike for the daily commute plus a little extra mileage on the weekends. These guys fixed me up for a little under $500 with EVERYTHING (new bike, helmet, bike lock, bike mirror, etc.), adjusted the bike free when I bought it, and then offered to do a 30 day tune up also for free. They also offered to help me sell the bike when I was done using it for the summer (I am moving to a new location where I will have to use a car rather than a bike.) The guys who work there really know their stuff (all are avid bikers and they are free with advice on local places to ride or the best way to fix your bike yourself) and it seems the shop is the local place to have your bike serviced if you are a serious biker. The shop will also ship your bike anywhere in the country if you race. Recently while I was there, a customer came in to have his bike repaired and the owner got to talking with him about an unusual tandem bike in the shop: it seems that there is a local person with disabilities that didn't allow them to use a traditional tandem bike, so the shop modified an existing tandem bike to a custom fit. (I LOVE shop owners with a sense of community and will patronize their shops for as long as I can.) It's right off Maine Street on Center Street in downtown Brunswick so it's not hard to find. The prices are in line with most specialty bike shops, so it's not cheap, but there are discounts to be found as a loyal customer. There are a few bikes in the shop to try out, and most (like mine) had to be ordered when bought. As for the bike lines sold in the shop...it's best to call and ask as they seem to be able to order just about anything if you know what you want. The best thing I like about them is that they are not all about the "newest and greatest" in bikes and will tailor their advice and recommendations to you and your biking experience. (For instance, they could have recommended a $1200 road bike--the shop sells these--for me to ride for the summer, but they didn't.) read more

Laid back owner who did not keep track of exact check out/in of my bike rental. When I informed him my pleasant 24 hours were up, but I wondered if I could rent it by the hour to go to Cameron's Fish and Chips, he waved me out the door no extra charge. Just one note though, the owner was so laid back he forgot to tear up my debit card number and accidentally charged another party's rental to me several weeks later. His explanation was 100% believable and he apologetically and promptly charged back the amount. I would definitely rent from him again despite the mistake. Extra note, check out the solar cars on the side of the building while you are there! read more

Outstanding service. Owner Tim is friendly, super helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. There is a good stock of bikes and accessories, and Tim will always do his very best to get you something if it isn't in stock. He also offers an excellent repair and maintenance service. read more

Very nice people who don't take their job that seriously. I finally bought a classic, vintage frame that I'd been waiting all my life to buy and build. I brought it to them after a fresh powder coating. Because of sloppy workstand technique, they screwed up the downtube decal (not easy to find one) and left permanent scuff marks all around the downtube center. I expressed my displeasure, and they offered to "buy me a new decal". At the time, I had not detected the powdercoat damage (I thought it was just the decal). I couldn't figure out if he was being a wise guy or not, but I did not appreciate his trivializing. I trusted them. I got burned. Live and learn. What can you say? read more

This is the best bike shop in the area. Visit here before anywhere else. Trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Great service and friendly staff. Came in on a Saturday to rent a bike and they were super helpful. The bike was in great condition and the transaction was easy and efficient. A great experience all around. read more

Had an 8 year old's bent front wheel after a collision mishap with a friend. We took it to CSC on a late Saturday afternoon. The owner at Center St was so kind and gave a quick fix and she was smiling and riding the bike and hour later! He went out of his way to help with a low price fix, even adjusted her brakes and ensured the tires were adequately pumped! read more

I stopped at Center Street this past Monday because my front derailleur was stuck. Lee immediately examined the bike (which I had bought elsewhere), made the necessary repair and sent me on my way. It was a great customer service experience and will send me back for other services and purchases. read more

I am a Bowdoin Student. Far away from home, having flat bike tire means stress. But I took my bike to here Center Street Cycles, and they took my bike immediately to a garage, and with fancy tools, fixed my flat tire. The entire process took only 10 minutes, and it only costed $14 dollars (they replaced the tube inside my tire). They also fixed my brakes so they stop more easily. I have much trust in this place, and I know where I need to go if my bike breaks again. Bikes on campus can easily break. When your bike breaks, I recommend going to this bike shop to get it fixed. Excellent customer service as well! read more

Very nice people! I came in for a tune-up and all the employees were extremely knowledgeable about bikes and went above and beyond for my repair. Definitely coming back for my next bike repairs! read more

I have ridden over 300 miles since getting a tune up at Center St. and my 7-year old Specialized Sirus Comp hybrid is riding as smoothly as when I first bought it. Before bringing the bike in, I'd been experiencing problems when shifting. I'd throw the chain at least once each 6-mile commute to and from home and work, unless I was super careful when shifting. I brought the bike in to several different bike stores in the Boston area and none was able to fix the problem satisfactorily. Some said a bent derailleur was the problem, others said a worn chain and cassette were causing the malfunction. I hesitated to replace the parts becuse they were relatively new. So I tinkered with the adjusting screws and lived with the problem. While on vaction in late August, I decided to get a tune up before some long fundraising rides coming up in September. I brought the bike to Center St. The friendly mechanic there after hearing my description of the problem, measured the chain wear (about 70-80% worn and good for 500 miles more, he said). He looked at the slightly bent derailleur and said he didn't think that was the problem, but he'd check it when doing the standard tune up. A couple of days later, they called and said the bike was fixed and ready. They told me that the problem had been a faulty adjustment screw in the derailleur, which they replaced. I just paid the standard fee for the tune up. Honest, skilled, knowledgable, and friendly, what more could anyone want in a bike repair shop. Thank you Center St. read more

Center Street Cycles is a small locally owned bike shop in Brunswick ME. They have INCREDIBLE customer service, are very approachable and very knowledgeable. The owner Lee is one of the kindest and most patient people I've met and I am very proud to be a regular customer. Test rides of any style and length are encouraged, and small needs are frequently taken care of free of charge on site. Can't say enough about Center Street Cycles, fewer and fewer businesses like this exist these days, their attitude truly enhances our local community. read more
