Finally putting a review after 6 years and its with mixed feelings as I finally pulled my daughter…read moreout. The Positives that kept me re enrolling for 6 years: Staff: I always loved the staff especially the person who always helped fit my daughter dance shoes. They were friendly and always responded to questions. Location: Close and easier to find drop off in a safe neighborhood. The Costumes: For the Most part the costumes are beautiful and it even got better this past year end performance. The staff puts a lot of thought into this. Dance Teachers: kids friendly not strict at all (could be good or bad) The Venue:Santa Clara convention center is a great venue. Many other dance studios can't afford this size venue. Negatives: Repetitive program. You will hear the same songs after 2 years. Simple moves: If you are not in the comp team, you won't learn much after 2 yrs. My daughter said 3 years ago, she learned 3 new moves, 2 years ago she learned 1 new move. Last year she didn't learn ANY new moves. Now as I search for other dance studios, she's already behind for her age group for non comp classes. It's hard to continue paying increasing fees without seeing progress. All I wait for is one fancy year end show with beautiful costumes.... I hope they hire new dance teachers that can dance like their star comp team girls.

My two boys (8 & 11) had so much fun with their classes. They took Creative Writing and Theatre and…read moreLeadership. They definitely discovered the different sides of themselves. In Creative Writing, I was surprised to see my older son showing interest in writing. Teacher Ish was able to help him develop his story further and even to the point of publishing as a book later on. That inspired him to want to keep writing and develop more stories. The theater class was so fun. The kids were able to experience all the aspects of theater performance. From remembering lines, character interaction, voice projection, performing in front of a large audience and much more. Teacher Ish had good control of the class. Her advice on how to carry themselves for the play will benefit their character development well into adulthood. There was an assistant, Mitchell, who was very helpful, and plays the guitar. One thing that was challenging was to try to go to all the classes/rehearsals. But it worked out at the end and the show was funny and engaging. I strongly recommend this class. Kids will learn so much and have fun at the same time!!!

My 8 year old has some attention & impulse control difficulties so, I was hesitant to sign him up. The group was small & Ms. Ish was wonderful. She really took the time to get to know my son & connect with him. It was wonderful to see his progress & culmination of the leadership & communication skills he acquired throughout the 10-week program. Each class started with some games to build camaraderie & trust between the children. I am looking forward to future classes with Ms. Ish as we found the outcome to be something we were all so proud of!

The theater itself is very intimate and allows you a good seat no matter where you are. The staff is friendly and helpful. All shows from my experience, have been reasonably priced. Spacious theater with plenty of spots to practice or do rehearsals before showtime. Staffs are great communicators and are always helpful. This place has been around forever and City Hall is a great place to gather or use public restrooms as well. Cafe is easily accessible next door. If you come here in December during the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event, you won't be disappointed. Colorful Christmas vibes everywhere. There's a good sized local park behind it and you can easily park on the streets which are all walking distance. Besides ballerinas and dancers, you get to watch singers, group choirs, and many more colorful entertainments on the outdoor stage area. Inside stage is usually reserved for larger popular shows. Yes, dressing room and areas for practicing before performance time is well set and they're usually on time moving groups in and out as scheduled. Love the backstage area and scenes. Good feeling inside and outside.
