My lower back has been my Achilles Heal for over 25 years & aside from all the proactive measures I take, Acupuncture has quietly stayed in the back of my head. I've participated in Physical Therapy, Acupressure, Reflexology, Yoga, Swimming & such...only a temporary relief while in motion. My initial visit was such an enlightening & liberating experience for me & my multi ailments. Marie not only exudes a qualified, calming & gifted approach with her seasoned techniques, she will school you from A-Z concisely yet expeditiously in this amazing component of traditional Chinese medicine. Her healing perspective in conjunction with this form of alternative medicine was a internal blowing of my mind, body & spirit. The thin needles were darn near touch-less & barely noticeable as she studied the numerous acupuncture points before inserting them into my specific body parts. For me, I walked away with less discomfort from the chronic aspect & it became more evident/effective later in the day & evening. Per design, everyone's make up is unique...as for me, this was better accommodating & cost efficient to the standard care & reiteration of "you should have back surgery" - NEGATIVE. Marie's extensive training & methodical/chakra familiarity approach enhanced my sense of wellbeing 10 fold. It also awaken the yearning I have for my vitality to evolve through this inner cultivation of holistic learning & treatment-POSITIVE. Crossings is absolutely "A Center For Healing".

Mary Morrison came to acupuncture as a second career, and the passion she brings to it shines…read morethrough. Mary's tagline is "We listen, we treat, you heal," and this perfectly sums up her approach. She starts every session by checking in with you about what's working in your life, and she gently corrects you if you talk about yourself and your body as if they were two different things. She also points out if any of the language that you are using about your life is disempowering, like when I told her I was "under a lot of pressure" at work. In other words, Mary's approach is not only physically holistic (relating to the body as a system, not a collection of organ systems) but completely holistic, integrating thoughts, words, emotions, and physical phenomena. She has even helped me improve my relationship with a loved one who is treating cancer with a different treatment method than I would choose. Mary has the latest training and uses all the traditional Chinese medicine modalities--acupuncture, herbs, cupping, tongue analysis, pulse analysis, and moxibustion. I leave every session much more relaxed and funnier. One of the issues I went in to see her for--tummy fat that I could not shed due to compulsive overeating--has been partially resolved. The tummy fat is gone, although I still at times overeat compulsively, a problem that is decades in the making. The other--digestive distress--is also improving, though Mary has pointed out that my sensitivity is a gift (because it provides information on how things affect me) and not something to be fixed. I will continue to see Mary regularly to help my body/mind/self function at its best. She is not only very professional but also very giving. You will be glad if you put yourself in her caring, able hands.

I was a patient for years in the old location, which was a peaceful haven with quiet closed…read moretreatment rooms and also convenient free parking. That changed with the recent move to a large open noisy space, with little privacy. It's geared now to group activities, and having multiple patients going at once, limiting individualized discussiob. Downtown parking is tough. When I pointed out several safety issues in the new space (my field), Mary abruptly discontinued treatment and has left me without any continuity in treatment as I can't find anyone yet who takes my insurance. I would NOT recommend, lack of empathy.

SSD has TENS units for clients and I got to use one for this birth (no idea if it helped but so glad to try it out!). The community classes are informative. I went into labor at 2:30 in the morning and Rose joined us shortly afterwards. She knows what signs mean your labor is progressing and what might be helpful in reducing pain and when you need to leave for the hospital, and she knows how to let your body lead the labor. At the hospital, Rose advocated for us to make sure we had the care we needed (e.g.: the hospital was understaffed and we were left alone and I was in no state to ask where on earth our medical team was when I was pushing). Pretty sure I'm done after kid #2 but if we do have any more we will definitely be asking SSD to join us again.

As a first time mom, it was wonderful to have their expertise and level-headed approach to pregnancy and childbirth throughout the journey - and lord knows I had a million and one questions. They are both knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely lovely people to know and work with. Rose was the doula in attendance at my birth and her presence was so calming and appreciated. She came to our house during early labor when I was unsure of how the process was going. And from the house to the hospital, she was with us every step of the way. In the hospital, she had lots of supplies with her to support my L&D, including a much used hot water bottle that made those first few hours more bearable. And when the doctors said my son was "sunny side up," Rose helped moved me into different positions and did adjustments to help encourage baby to change position (which he did!!). She held my hand (and my leg ) during 3 hours of pushing and reminded me often to breathe, made sure I was drinking water, and reminded me to relax when possible. Truly, I could not have done it without her. It was amazing to have someone looking out for me in the L&D room. As as added bonus, she took photos when our son was born which are really special to have. Although I think I'm a "one and done" type person with my son, if I were to have another child, I would engage Jenny and Rose again for their services in a heartbeat!

They want your personal information and have you make an appointment, but no real information. I don't like to make an appointment without knowing anything about insurance which most places have on their site, out of courtesy. After getting through on the phone. they said she does not take insurance. Please beware of places that don't take insurance. Insurance normally pays $100, and practitioners easily juggle about 3 at a time, because the majority of time the customer is alone with the needles in them. $300 hour, let's say 5 hrs per day, working 3 days a week only. $234,000 year. Some want to charge more than insurance allows. To me this is another red flag, because there is already so much greed in acupuncture, and no accountability, and lack of caring. Good to know up front.

Easily the best money we've spent in regards to the birth process. Joslyn has been a huge help with the baby at night and treats him like her own. She has offered expertise and little hacks here and there that have made a huge difference for us in getting acclimated as new parents (hello pace feeding). we only wish there were more of her! We feel so blessed to have found NOVA and confidently recommend them to anyone, even though we would selfishly like it if we could keep them for ourselves. God Bless!

EDIT: This company would rather argue their justification…read morethan just make corrections. My review remains with one agreed correction: 8 night nannies were not hired, we started the process of hiring 8 that fell through at different points like dropping contact/no shows. As an SBO myself I would never provide a negative review unless absolutely warranted. I did see another review where a customer allegedly felt Faith made some between-the-lines implications for leaving a review and I see where they would think that as Faith reached out to me about this review in a very threatening manner, stating they are noting this record and it may violate Yelps content/ privacy standards and apparently has asked for its removal. Yikes! *END EDIT Absolutely avoid this business at all costs. They have you pay your entire contract upfront - which is almost unheard of. The rate is nonrefundable, even if they do not provide you services. I'm out over $2k because we cancelled our contract early after 8 no-show night nannies. 8 times their employee either didn't show up or cancelled hours before. The last night nanny that called out day of service even contacted us saying that if we get a refund, she doesn't get paid. The company lied and exaggerated issues for no shows to make it more justifiably (as seen in the text attached). The nanny called us night of the accident saying she was fine AND she was on a flight for a trip the next day. Faith called it a "near deadly accident". Disgusting business dealings. Not only are they lying, but also putting them in such a desperate situation where the nanny is forced to reach out to the customer and guilt us to not taking a refund (second pic). We've since found another company to work with and they have been amazing, reliable, and professional.
