The Barn 1880: Historic Venue

I recently attended an event at this venue and I was thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere and…read moreservice at this historic venue. The Barn itself feels rustic, but it is very well maintained and has had terrific updates made - this offers a wonderful ambiance and an environment tailor made to hosting events. I'm sure you'll feel the urge to take a photo of the interior during your event, the barn is practically made to capture good instagram photos! The owners were kind, gracious, and very helpful - all in all, they were great hosts! I would absolutely recommend this venue for anyone's event needs in the future!

We had a tour with the owners that seemed to go very well. we asked questions & thise she couldn't…read moreanswer we just asked her to find out & let us know. She said she would send my future DIL the total cost & contract that evening for her to sign along with instructions on payments & when they were due. That evening instead of the paperwork she sent her a text stating that after we left she "just felt that something was off" then it was that it "wasn't a good fit" lastly after attempting to get answer as to why & what went wrong she told her that "just don't feel we can meet your expectations" I tried talking with her through email but she wasn't even willing to give an explanation now matter how polite & complimentary we were. while we were there that morning she was told more than once "it's exactly what we've been looking for, we love it etc" they are just getting their business started & we totally understood she didn't have all the answers to our questions. We were looking forward to being one of the 1st to share a wonderful wedding day with them & to then give recommendations to help build their business, but she wouldn't even give us the chance! Needless to say, the Bride to be was complete crushed & heartbroken after finding her dream location, told papers would be sent to sign online & we would be set, then the owner withdrew all of it with no explanation. I dint know about everyone, but this is no way to treat others. Absolutely no concern, empathy or justification on her part! I find this sad & feel this is no way to rn a business if you want to succeed, let alone to be a decent person toward others!

Let me begin by saying, I was really hopeful my for the best. Based on the reviews I was sure we…read morewould be using this cute little place as a "meet in the middle" for our family. However. Our evening turned out like this. It was 5:30pm we entered the restaurant and stood patiently in the family dining area . No one came. We sent a scout to the bar upstairs. He came down and told us that we could bring the 8 year old up if we sat in the hallway but it seated 4. Our scout carried a chair upstairs for our 5th party. We waited another 8 min. No one came . After 10 min. We prepared to leave . A server said, " are you leaving?". Yes! And we left. This was a Friday night experience. The server was there by herself. She was intending to cook-serve and bar tend. I wish this place the best. It's adorable. Since I can't judge the food or really the service, my suggestion is to call ahead and see if they are staffed and ready.

Quaint quiet town! The reception area is large and the depot is fantastic Just found out that a band plays here every Thursday. I bet this place will be hopping. Seriously, I wish we were sticking around longer- ordered the bean soup - husband says it's hot and good. Salmon sandwiches and steak burger. Side options are chips or applesauce. The food smells great while we wait. Pop is flat. Beer is cold. Water is wet. Gnat season is in full swing. Food is good. Nothing to ring a bell over but a solid dinner while traveling on 30. Just a mile off the highway!! Would I come back - sure, nothing but miles behind me and more in front of me to make this place a super spot for us to have made a reservation!!!
