I've been here twice and have mixed reviews... The first time was last year - I came in for a deep tissue massage in the middle of training for an endurance event. The therapist was really good, but she was TEXTING on her BlackBerry during my session. How could I tell? She would take her hands off me for a second and I could hear her fingers tapping away on the keypad. It happened about three or four times during the session, and as she was checking me out after the session was over. I could see that she had her phone in her pocket with the screen illuminated. Must have been an important convo. Either way, I felt it completely unprofessional. I didn't complain to the desk staff because that's not my style, and the massage was actually really good ---but if it happens again I will be sure to bring it up. The second time I was there was great! Absolutely professional therapist who was a pleasure. What will bring me back here again is the fact that they send me coupons in the mail a lot, and it's reasonably easy to get an appointment with only a few days' notice. Had the facial and body scrub here on Christmas Eve. Both were amazing. The massage, was hmmm, strange. Left me feeling a little weird. When the therapist was actually massaging, it was great and very professional. However, not sure if I was having a texting experience like a previous reviewer, but when she got to my feet, there were long awkward pauses. I could even feel her breath on my feet. Very creepy! Had to peep down to see what was going on, and saw her head down. I think she was texting, and face got so close to my feet, that I felt her breathing from her nose! Either way, wouldn't go back to her for a massage, but would definitely try again with a different therapist since this place is close to home and does a pretty good job otherwise. My facials have always been great. The foot soak is very pleasant and relaxing. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful, serene environment. Lovely staff. I had a facial today with Kim and she was excellent, friendly to chat with, and recommended really great products. It's a little more expensive than my normal facial, but it's so worth it. It involves so much more than just getting your face clean, it's a total experience. I especially like that they give you heated mittens during your treatment. The linens and blankets in the room were super cozy, something I usually don't get at my other place. Will be returning! Just has another amazing experience The Center for Pain Relief and Wellness in Babylon. I go here religiously for a massage and facial. Their customer service gets even better every time. Every staff member from the beginning to the end is polite and engaging. It is always clean and peaceful inside. Carolin gives the absolute best massage and my skin looks amazing from my pumpkin papaya facial. If you ever want to treat yourself this is the place. I was there in January for an 1 hour massage. First off I was in the room nearly 10 minutes before the girl came in to start. I explained to her I didn't want a deep tissue massage and she was like fine. It seemed like there was no in between with her, first I felt like I was being petted then when I said you could go harder she began digging in so hard that I was in pain. I've been going to this place for years and I've decided to stop and seek out other options. My last massage there was 90 minutes and for the first 20 minutes of it, the masseuse rubbed my oil on my back with hardly any pressure. I was confused by this, and was pretty much waiting for the massage to begin during this entire 20 minutes, so I kindly let the masseuse know that she could give more pressure. That's when she told me that since this was a 90 minute massage and we had "extra" time, she wanted to take advantage by "warming up" my muscles. I was slightly furious with this comment. The time was not "extra." I paid for that time -- and even after I said something, she didn't immediately start giving an actual massage. This incident was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back for me. In previous experiences, I've gotten brought into the massaging room later than my appointment (just a few minutes or so), only to have my appointment end right on time. So I've essentially gotten shorter massages because their staff is running behind schedule. Unfair and unprofessional. If you're trying them out for the first time, definitely take note that they advertise 60 minute massages, but you typically only get about 50-55 minutes since they count the time that you're getting changed as part of your massage! read more

I was lucky enough to find this place and have never had a better more relaxing massage (book Ellen, the best massage therapist ever!). Very calm serene atmosphere, and when Ellen came in she made me feel very comfortable, asked about specific areas to focus on...the rest is bliss. Would not recommend. I had my massage cut short because my masseuse didn't start on time, then had finished my massage about 6 minutes early. Wouldn't have been a huge deal if she didn't start late. I used to really like this place but lately feel that the service has declined along with the quality of the massages. I recently received a birthday gift card for a 60 minute aromatherapy session. The actual massage was around 50 minutes which was shorter than what was paid for, I remember this very same thing happened the last time I visited. When I entered the massage room, I hoped to be asked what type of oil I preferred, I recall this being part of their aromatherapy service. Instead, the masseuse used whichever standard oil was available. The room was very plain and not relaxing at all, I almost felt like I was a patient at a doctor's office! I didn't like the vibe and felt it wasn't fitting for the occasion. The staff was professional but the people at the front desk seemed rushed and pretty flustered, maybe they're the ones in need of a massage! The actual massage was good but not great, I've definitely had better. If I'm offered another gift card I wouldn't turn it down but think it's time to start shopping around for another spot to find my zen! read more

I had a terrible experience here years ago. I had a facial that left my face raw, and I had a terrible eyebrow waxing that left me with UNEVEN eyebrows. I was in desperate need of a facial, and I couldn't find another place to try out, so I decided to give this place another try. Approximately 7 years later, I was hoping for a better experience. And, I got one! I called Thursday afternoon to see if I could get a facial that evening. Like I said, I was desperate. I got an 8PM appointment with Tara. I showed up a bit early. The receptionist gave me tea, which was lovely to sip while I was waiting. I was called in a couple minutes past 8 (not so happy about that since you only have an hour, and they close at 9PM). Tara did a phenomenal job with extractions. Days later, my face is in much better condition than it was before my facial. My facial ended a couple minutes before 9PM (again not too thrilled that I didn't get a complete hour), and because of how long my extractions took, I didn't get the full shoulder massage that normally comes with the facial. Since I was there because I needed the extractions, I wasn't upset over the massage, although it could have been done while my final mask was on. I was obviously the last client of the night, because as soon as I walked out the linen guy was there to collect the linens from my room. Despite the time, Tara still took the time to get me a cup of water. Overall, it was a great facial, and it was great that I didn't have to wait for an appointment. I wasn't impressed when I went. My husband goes a lot and loves it, but when I went the girl doing the massage took me in about 5 after the hour, because she was talking to the receptionist about her boyfriend. Then she finished up 7 minutes before the hour ended so my 60 minute massage was cut really short. I emailed them to tell them how disappointed I was and they never got back to me. I will NEVER go back. The least they could have done was email me back an apology. read more
