Nothing like this exists so the unique experience makes this a 5-star out of the gate. From rubber stamps to cards to clothing - you'll just never know what you'll find here. I've been visiting CFLO on and off for a few years and every time I pop in, there is a new display or items have been rearranged. There is a no photo policy here, yet I had to capture some for Yelp to encourage others to show up and hope that the exterior one is okay to share. I once purchased some clogs and today I got a lovely Hawaiian cookbook titled, "Another Taste of Aloha." The service is good and the prices vary. The owner was extremely rude. I've always wanted to stop in because I saw interesting things in the window but the shop was always closed even when it said it was open. When I finally got to go into the store the owner watched me like she assumed I would steal. My friend asked about an item he was interested in but was damaged a bit so he was wondering if that was the price considering the damage to it. She said "I don't do that here." I was confused at first and realized she meant bartering. He said he was going to pass on the item and was going to leave it with her at the front but she yelled at him to put it back. Store is a huge cluttered mess so we put it back where we thought it went and she yelled more that we put it in the wrong spot while she sat at the front and refused to move and point and kept trying to make us put it in a different spot. The lady she helped before who was white, she was super nice to. I have to assume she doesn't like people of color. I bought something small because I assumed maybe she was just having a bad day but she was still rude during the entire interaction. The phone rang and she went back to being "nice" to them on the phone. When I got home I realized my item was damaged but I have no interest in going back and speaking with her as it was all so unpleasant. All the items are priced extremely high for the quality of the items and most if not everything is damaged. read more

A couple months ago we were catching a gig across the street so three of us walked over. I suffer from Chronic Fatigue so I'm always in search of a seat. Upon entering the store there was a rolling office chair right in the middle tucked under a table. I pulled it out and made sure I wouldn't be in the way... I thought I'd have a seat before browsing. Shortly after sitting the older gal came up and essentially told me not to sit. I got up, browsed for another chair.... found my friends to tell them I'd be leaving, head back across the street where seats were plenty. My friends returned later to which one said: I want you to know I really laid in to that woman... told her my friend has an injury that requires her to sit and let's be honest, if I was in that chair you wouldn't have had a problem. The next day this same friend sent same such worded email to the owner. I said: she probably was the owner. She never did receive any sort of response so..... I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

This is an eccentric spot that houses hand crafted items, specialty cards, antiques, and records. There's a "no photos" policy inside, so I respected the rules and only captured the outside. They have some interesting literature and really cute furniture (old and refurbished) along with a mish mash of other items. Street parking abounds. It's worth a stop in. read more

There's a good variety of unique and interesting items in the store. There were oddities and paintings too! I recommend them if you like unusual items. I like to promote cool stores by posting on Facebook, so I took a few photos. I was told not to take photos, even though I was going to promote them online. I guess they don't need the promotion. I didn't see the "no photos" sign until I left the store, so it could have been placed upfront rather than having be scolded. read more

Came to this store on a recent Tuesday with my daughter who had just gotten an apartment in St. Paul. We were looking for fun items to accessorize her place. I was wearing an Orla Kiely backpack as my purse. The backpack is the size of an IPad. The minute we walked through the door the older white woman told me to be careful with my backpack, wasn't sure why I needed this advice. She then told me that is why there is a sign on the door saying no backpacks in the store. I didn't notice it on the way in. The hostility coming from this woman was palpable! I don't know if she thought I was going to pack my purse with goods and make off, but I don't think you can assume everyone coming through the door is a thief. We were the only customers at that time in the store, maybe she should have seen us less as a potential threat and more like potential customers as it looked like she could use the business. I turned to my daughter and said I had heard enough and we left. Needless to say, we will never be back. We went to lovely vintage stores on Selby and they welcomed us in, let us browse and guess what we spent money! read more

Wish I would of read the reviews before stopping in. Thought it was a nice place to look for watches/clocks as I'm a collector. The blonde older lady about 50yrs old plus: I asked her if I could see it out the case. (A pocket watch behind the counter.) I didn't need to take it out and have her let me hold it. It was in a case surrounded by other items and couldn't get a good look. So for a 200 purchase I figure I was allowed to inspect it a little before buying but I guess here you have to buy it before she lets you look at it. Lmao this lady is racist and it's so passive aggressive and obvious it's sad. Self awareness made me and my s/o leave the store we didn't even say a word and even she could read the body language. If youre a minority make sure to leave your wallet in the counter with her or she'll doubt you'll buy anything and watch you like a hawk if not. Don't bother asking to look at things before you buy them. In Saint Paul 2023 is quiet tragic! Never going there again! read more

I used to enjoy browsing here. I've gotten earrings, mugs, and other little trinkets here. However, when I was in the shop last week, I was watched like a hawk and then scolded when I pulled out my phone. I had forgotten to turn off my GPS and intended to shut it off. I also saw a text from a friend and was planning on replying. The shop has a no photos policy and the white woman at the front scolded me because she thought I was trying to take a photo even though my phone was facing the floor. I explained my actions and she backed off but did not apologize. Two other white customers witnessed this interaction and expressed sympathy to me. I've recently noticed the shop also has lots of little Asian ceramic dolls / China dolls for sale. I think we've learned it's weird to sell antique black and Indigenous dolls but we haven't figured out how this is messed up too. I'm disappointed but not surprised. In any time period, this behavior is rude, but in the context of rising anti-Asian hate crimes, I don't have time or patience for this behavior. The shop has lost my business. read more

This is what you would call a "mantiques" store. The owners are kind of creepy and I'm really put off by the taxidermied critters in here. The fact that they have had a huge stuffed giraffe in here and other big game elicits a big NOPE from me, sorry about it. read more

Not even worth the one star rating. The shop keeper was extremely rude. Had a few things that I was thinking about. Asked if they ever take a lower price. She said we don't do that here. I said who does. I was told to leave and never come back. Fine with me. But I did tell her she has the same doll sitting on the shelf for three years now. Your price is to high for that doll. This is a really interesting store, that seems double as a performance space. It's a mix of antiques, restored furniture, vintage clothes, and new odds and ends. My favorite thing were these craft earings with adorable, one of a kind charms - glass flying pigs anyone!? I also saw a Dr Sketchy's style art night, that was neat. A super cool store. The people who work there are also artists, and great to talk to about projects. A great place to go for inspirations. read more

I went into this place right as it opened. The owner was putting things out in front of the shop. She told me she wasn't open until 11:00. (according to my watch it was 11:05) But I said Oh ok I am sorry. She did decide to let me in after all and it was cold out so I stepped in and as I did that I kept the door open for her as she had more things that she was going to put outside. She didn't like that for some reason and said something rude like no I can handle it I do this everyday she was totally ticked at me for whatever reason so I did said well that was a little rude. She then told me to F*** off and die. As I left she was yelling at me. I did take a picture of the store when I got to my car which she also didn't like.. Because she was still going crazy. I can't believe that someone who has a business thinks it ok to go nut on someone who just wanted to come in and check out her store. I will NEVER be back and I will make it my mission to tell everyone I know about my experience with her. read more

I am usually a fan of unique and interesting stores like this, but will not be coming back after my visit yesterday. My daughter found something she was really excited to purchase that was clearly marked with a price tag. She took her items up to the counter and was told that it was not the correct price. The woman said that it was actually $20 and not the $8 it was marked. There was no budging on it. My daughter went ahead and bought 2 glass ornaments that were just thrown into a bag without any care and she had to ask the woman if she could wrap a bit of tissue around them. She was clearly annoyed with the request. If you don't like to have customers, why own a store? read more

My daughter and I went to this store to purchase an antique dresser today, and the attending salesperson was rude, asking us to please pay for the dresser before touching it. While we were loading the dresser into my truck, she said "I'm going to turn it" and flipped it, injuring me and sending my flasses flying before I could prepare foe the move. She then said " I told you I was going to turn it," turned her back and walked away, well aware that I was hurt, saying "have as nice day." My daughter and I both agreed we probably wouldn't go there again. read more
