Some of the worst seamstress work I've ever seen in my life. The man at the counter was very nice and pleasant, but the seamstress gave me this and didn't even apologize for it. She straight up told me "you have to be careful with it because it's not going to be strong". She ruined this bag and charged me $25 for it. Go somewhere else and pay more to get it done right. She did NOT fix my bag, she ruined it to where I'm not sure someone else will be able to fix it. This looks like a child did this. read more

Needed three pants hemmed and brought it here because it's closest to my house and I try to support LP businesses. Got my pants back and on my first wear the hem came undone. Immediately took them back and they redid the hem-no charge. Later in the week wore my other two pants, and once again on the first wear the hem came undone. Took both pants back and questioned if maybe the wrong thread was used for the pants material. Again the pants were redone no charge, however upon pickup I was told I would need to pay to get them done again (because why would I not just take them to another place if I crossed that bridge). When testing out the pants again, I slid my leg into the pants so slow not to touch the bottom area. I am so impressed with the new owner of this store. I got my evening dresses altered here several times and NO complaint at all. All workers greet me friendly whenever I visit there too. I didn't want to go back to this store since I had a terrible experience with the former owner with the price they charged and the service they have done. Wow! Centennial Cleaners is under new management by a fantastic and delightful lady named Grace. I took some cleaning there to start, and found out that she is a professionally trained seamstress, with a degree in fashion and clothing patterns. Grace is also is highly knowledgeable on exact dry cleaning formulas and compounds, as she ran a much larger cleaners pre-pandemic in VA. All cleaning is done in-house by she and her son, not sent out to another location. I first had her modify a neckline on a jumpsuit to add a keyhole opening. Perfect job! I then brought her a challenge-replacing a leather coat collar and pockets with new leather. Not only did she accomplish the task, she did it all by hand! It looks amazing! What a gem to have her here in LaPlata. Finally, an experienced seamstress in the area, and a fantastic cleaners to boot! All the cleaning is perfect, and the sewing is professional and reasonably priced. Love!! Come back to Centennial Cleaners. You won't be disappointed. ~2022 read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I'm typically a dove when it comes to reviews, but these folks completely overpriced the alterations I brought in for my wife. The folks we usually use were closed due to inclement weather effects, and this place was closer to the new home we recently moved to. I dropped off two skirts. One needed a couple of stitches to shore up a hem that was already there. I would say about 3-4 inches of the hem had come off and needed to be re-stitched. The other garment had a liner on the inside of the skirt that was protruding past the bottom of the outer material. That needed a cut and a stitch. I was thinking that we would be out the door for 20-25.00. I even asked what they would charge, she said probably 25-30, which I could accept due to the convenience of the location. When I arrived to pick it up a week later, the charge was 53.00! I asked why she had strayed from our original agreement, she said she did a complete hem on the first garment (definitely not needed). I complained that it was overpriced, she said, "Okay, I give you discount...50.00 now!" I felt like being sarcastic and saying, "Well awesome, thanks for that, I can afford a venti coffee at Starbucks now!" or "Hey kids, because of this lady, we can hit McD tonight!" I informed her that I would be writing a review on Yelp and she acted as if she didn't know what that was (she may not have). I also informed her that I am active-duty and I would be recommending against any active-duty folks in my community patronizing them. She kind of displayed a nervous smile and thanked me for coming. Bottom line....they charge way too much. It should have been about half of what they charged. Got my shirt back with stains. Owner got very defensive when I asked what happend to my shirt. Always breaks buttons on clothes and then tells me what a good deal I get because they dont charge to replace the buttons. Seems like if they break them they should fix them and not act like they are doing me a favor. They clearly have enough business they dont need to worry about losing any customers. Beware. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! Dropped off my stained wedding dress to be cleaned, they said it would be done in a week. A MONTH later I went in there wondering why it was taking so long and she said she couldn't clean it because I cut the tag out.. they were also "too busy" to call to tell me they weren't cleaning it. We have used Centennial Cleaners for several years now. The owner does a great job with alterations as well as dry cleaning. Yes, it's expensive but they use the eco-friendly method which will cost more. My clothes don't have that dry cleaning "odor" when I get them back. I have even trusted them with cleaning our bedspreads and it is done well. I have never taken anything back. read more

Plus, the work is done on premises, so I have never had to wait 3 or more days for my clothes. They have done expert alterations on my pants, jackets, and more for me. i don't care what kind of eco-friendly method they use to clean my clothes. it should not cost $44.00 to clean one (1) dress and one (1) 3/4 trench coat. i will never go there again. get the price before you put your clothes in this place. read more

My 17 year old daughter took her JROTC uniform in to be dry cleaned for the end of the school year. Some articles had not been worn, but she was told to dry clean all as protocol. When she dropped off the items, she was told $40 which is pricey from the get go, but she didn't know that. When she went to pick them up, she was told to pay $60! $60 for a pair of slacks, 2 blouses, a thin sweater, a light jacket, and cap. She tried to tell my daughter that the extra charge was b/c of a stain, but when I called to complain on my daughter's behalf, she tried to say she didn't know she had that many pieces. When a friend called for pricing, we were told $9.95 for the jacket, $7.95 for pants, and $2.50 for laundry. Even if she charged the $7.95 for each piece after the jacket, the cost wouldn't have been $60.00. I feel she took advantage of a teenager, which is absolutely appalling. Never again, and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know not to use her services. read more
