Most recently they recut a larger set of lenses into a smaller frame for me in under an hour on a Saturday and then make up a set of safety glasses for me, and shipped them out to me in under three business days. That is amazing service and always with a great price. As long as I still live within an hour's drive, I'll be a loyal customer. (Fyi, I've tried twice to use my company's mandated safety glass suppier (to get them for half price) however both times the glasses weren't made properly (off centre lens cut), or with my last attempt, it took them 6 weeks to deliver and then the frame broke apart! In my many years or purchasing glasses I've never found a brand that is more comfortable and frames that are as durable as OGA. The current pair I'm wearing now are 4 years old and they could probably last another 4 or more. Pricing here is a little funny. The frames have price tags on them but the price you are quoted always is less than the "ticket" price. I paid for my pair upfront so I can get my receipt immediately and submit it for my benefit reimbursement. Since I've bought my last 3 pairs here I know I can trust them and that things will be just right. They had my measurements from last time so they didn't need to remeasure this time as my measurements were already stored on their computer system. I was in and out pretty quick which was good because I had somewhere to be right afterwards. With Transitions lenses they have to send them out to a lab which takes about a week which is fine because I have errands to run on the east end next weekend anyway.

The other stores in the mall have always been pricier for the same, or similar, frames, often by $100 or more. A bonus is the helpful salespeople, who I have found to be a bit more patient than the salespeople at the other optical stores at Pacific Mall. The reason why I'm giving four stars instead of five is how long it takes for orders to be filled. It took about three weeks for me to get my new glasses after being told it would be 7-10 business days. I wasn't even notified when they arrived - I had to call in to see what was going on with my order! When I got to the store, I was told that the glasses had arrived the previous afternoon and they didn't have a chance to call me. Not sure if I believe that story, but in the end, I have new frames with my correct prescription and I saved $100 compared to the other stores.

The last optical store we used was in Scarborough Town Centre, quite far from our place. When our family optician moved out of Toronto, my family eye doctor (Ophthalmologist) recommended Scarborough Scarboro Optical Ltd. in late 2019. From that time on, we've been extremely satisfied with its products and services, preferring not to use Costco's optical store, despite the latter is even much closer to our place and accessible by public transit. Why? For two major reasons. In the past, we had our eyes examined by an optometrist before taking the prescription to our optical store for new glasses. Scarboro Optical has its own optometrist located onsite (by appointment). And Dr. Bejan is not an ordinary optometrist. He's also a highly qualified eye doctor. In essence, I've been receiving regular monitoring of my eye health from two eye doctors. In the past, I'd been paying the cost of Digital Retinal Imaging Tests from my optometrist to assess the inside health of my eyes not covered by OHIP. Dr. Bejan performs similar test to detect presence of glaucoma, cataract and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) for free! We've been receiving excellent optician services even from its owner Joanna when she was still working as a senior optician. From the start, we're extremely satisfied with Atosa's services. Not only Atosa is a very knowledgeable optician, but we receive from her the following services more than what we expected: * Very friendly, warm and courteous yet has proven to do everything within her power to make us happy. * She would recommend lenses features beyond prescribed by their optometrist, to be comfortable using new glasses. * While I've got good vision insurance coverage from my previous employer, she never pressures us to buy expensive frames. Their prices are already competitive and always receives special discounts but still would tell us we don't need some features for our multiple prescribed glasses needed (bifocals, computer/reading and sunglasses). * She would tell us which of our old frames could be reused to save on costs. * She would submit our vision claims online to my insurance carrier, thereby receiving my refunds before we pay Scarboro Optical when we pick up our new glasses. * She would efficiently test, adjust and clean our glasses any time we drop by the store with a smile. It's for these reasons why we highly recommend Scarboro Optical products and services.
