Our first meeting with Jon was on March 28, we signed on March 30, the system was installed on April 27, the meter collar was installed on May 13, and we received Permission to Operate about a week later. Jon also helped us identify and secure available rebates. I would also like to thank Tara in the office. When I needed copies of my contract documents, she provided them promptly and without hesitation. Another positive observation is that the owner, Oz, appears to be actively involved with the company and personally responds to customer reviews. I noticed this during my initial research and felt it reflected a company that values customer feedback and satisfaction. At the time of this review, SunMade Solar Energy held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Until mid-2022, PS attempted to maintain the system's electrical production, except for identifying major warranted system component failures, then to now, by using daily data produced/provided to PS by the production system (which, we believe, is currently working). Comparing production periods (no data is available for 2014-2016 due to inverter failure; also, in 2017, 9.6 MWh was reported as produced): the 4-year production, 2022 -2025 to 2018-2021 was 49% (of the earlier period). From 12/4/2016 to 12/31/2025, roughly 108 months, no production occurred on 556 days, more than 18 months, or ~17% of the time. From July 2022 to February 2024, 20 months, including summer months, there was no recorded production. From June 26, 2025 -November 24, 2025, and from January 20, 2026 to today, May 21, 2026, no production has been recorded; however, we believe that production has been achieved in more recent months. At this time, our economic benefits, if any, from installing and maintaining our PS solar system remain unclear and highly uncertain. FYI

After delays and permit missteps on their end, I finally secured the permit. Instead of completing the job, Customer Care Manager Joshua Segobia emailed me claiming I have to print my own 11x17 plans, install my own safety placards, and schedule/host the city inspection myself before they will do anything else. I hired a professional company specifically so the electrical work and inspection would be done legally and properly to code. I have sent multiple follow-up emails and phone calls on July 15, July 31, and August 10 asking for clarification and management assistance, and I have been completely ignored. I need Empower Home Services to step up, send a technician to handle the final city inspection, and file my PG&E PTO immediately, or I will be escalating this matter directly to the CSLB and my financing company.

What was never clearly explained to my family was that the payment increases every year. At $470 per month, the deal sounded reasonable. But after reviewing the terms, the payment will rise to about $550 per month in 5 years, around $667 per month in 10 years, and over $1,000 per month by the end of the agreement. During the signing process, we were also encouraged to verbally agree and were told that reading the contract in detail was not necessary, and that we should simply trust what was being said instead. We were also pressured into signing the contract. In hindsight, this made it difficult for us to fully understand the long-term cost structure at the time of signing. Had we fully understood the escalation in pricing, we would have evaluated the offer differently. After the sale was completed, the sales representative stopped responding to messages, which added to our frustration. For anyone considering solar, make sure every promise is documented in writing and take the time to carefully review the full contract before signing. Do not rely solely on verbal assurances from a sales representative. Thank you for making us purchase a $120,000 system Alex Linares. Especially after we told you that my mother was laid off. Update: Please stay away from Empower my mother called them and they basically said she's stupid to trust them and to take them to court.

Upon reaching out to Turnkey, I was provided with a no pressure introduction to the company and the the products + services that they provide. I was in the market and I obtained 7 different proposals; I selected Turnkey out of my top 3 because of the following... 1) High Quality Products: Turnkey led the proposal with the US based product, Solaria as the manufacturer. After doing research on my own, I determined that was a product that I was interested in (also looks great) 2) Applied Professionalism: Robert, Jacob, Alex et cetera, are professionals. When I visited their showroom and when they visited my house, all representatives are clean-cut, tucked in and bring good manners with them. 3) Honest: Last but not least, I am meticulous when comparing proposals (especially when it's my own money) and Turnkey (Robert) was no-nonsense as the proposal was not the cheapest but it was the best when considering performance of the panels. Robert actually talked me down from ordering excess panels. More for your money: Because my house is custom/unique and had an old, leaky roof, I required a roofing job to be applied and Turnkey came through with a solution (roof rework had a 80% no-bid rate). When I needed my electrical-conduits routed in a special way, Turnkey came through with a solution. I can go on and on. I recommend to all of my friends and family who is interested in Solar to include in the proposal process as I am satisfied.
