They had to strip, sand, bleach, stain, caulk the class, & finally put multiple spar varnish coats on. The final price (which matched the quote) also seemed good. There was delicate copper interlocking weatherstripping around each door, & they didn't bend or damage any of it. That's quite a feat.

I was over the one year warranty period. I just recently hired another company and they stated they did not do the job correctly at all. Said they did no prep work, just sprayed the tub. I didn't realize they were supposed to sand the tub so the new paint would stick better. Hoping this refinishing sticks. I am super disappointed as this is a local business in my town and was hoping for better results.

PLJ Carpentry reinstalled two sets of exterior deck steps for me last fall after they were removed…read moreduring a patio project. The company wanted to schedule the work for around 5:00 PM. I specifically told Allan that I was concerned the job would be rushed if it started that late and asked him to make sure quality wasn't sacrificed just to get it done. He assured me multiple times that the work would not be rushed and that everything would be done properly. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. The steps were essentially slapped back together with little attention to detail. Boards were misaligned, gaps were inconsistent, and sections of the steps were installed directly against the shingles instead of being properly fitted and finished. After I raised concerns, Allan promised the issues would be corrected and personally assured me everything would be made right. Based on those assurances, I gave the company a second chance. After the crew returned, communication stopped and my text messages went unanswered. When I eventually returned home and inspected the work, the steps were in even worse condition. The PVC decking was scratched and damaged, and the installers drove screws directly through the decking without properly pre-drilling for the matching plug system. As a result, the holes couldn't even be plugged afterward, leaving an unacceptable finished product. In hindsight, I should have terminated the project after the initial installation and walked away from the deposit instead of giving the company a second chance. Unfortunately, the corrective work was worse than the original installation. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend using a different contractor.

Do you like to visit the local Zoo, on a warm Summer's evening?…read moreDo you stop and spend the extra minute or so at the "Monkey House"? Are you amused and delighted by, the Rhesus riotousness, the Capuchin chaos, or maybe even Macaque mania? If so, then these guys are for you. Because, with "One Stop Painting" it's Monkeys all the way down. "One Stop Painting" doesn't offer "Craftsmanship", "High-Quality Service", nor Professionalism in any sense of those words. But, they will "transform your Space" into a Monkey enclosure, with all the attendant fecal matter. Let's forego the Zoo for now and move on to outcomes. Painting is both a skill and an art. "One Stop Painting" offers neither. Paint "Flash" everywhere. "Holidays" everywhere. Entire sections of molding not caulked. Walls not properly prepared; Wall paper removed, and no surface prep was completed before painting. Paint on the floors, paint on my shoes and clothing (bedroom). Paint on the bath/shower. Repairs to "Popcorn" ceiling were filled with caulk and painted over. They do sell a filler for just such a thing. Sanding dust (from what little spackle was used) everywhere; no clean up. I requested "Benjamin Moore, but got "Sherwin Williams" instead. Also, the wrong variant of "limestone". I work for and mix paint for a "Benjamin Moore" retailer, and receive a significant discount on their paint. But, Mr. Cohen stated "He would take care of it". He didn't. Let's speak of the "Craftspeople" onsite. One old Man (like myself) , and a young Woman. Both of whom are being totally exploited by Mr. Cohen, were basically "high" the entire time. Hence the lack of attention to detail. As for Mr Cohen; after a walk through/punch list meeting he was dismissive, of any concerns. He is also a coward and a charlatan; after a reasonable period of time, inquiries were made as to how he would like to proceed. His lack of response is telling. Basically, "not my Circus, not my Monkeys"approach. But such things from a MAGA contractor, I shouldn't be surprised. One would be best served by avoiding "One Stop Painting".
