Took my kiddos to Celtic Axe Throwers. We arrived a bit early, per their instructions, so there was a wait. In the meantime, we ordered food, which we were able to order and pay using our phones. The food was then delivered to us from the restaurant upstairs. Once it was our turn for Axe Throwing, the employee explained the rules and for four people we had two lanes. My kiddos of varying ages all had so much fun. Afterward, the employee offered to take pictures of us, which I appreciated. This made for a really fun date night! At $30 per person for an hour, it is on the pricier end. Especially once you add on any food/drinks that you can bring over from Laurelwood and enjoy before, during, or after the axe throwing. But I still think it's worth it! Our instructor Scott was fairly no-nonsense, so we felt safe and informed. He's a great thrower and his teaching style was calm and helpful - which I particularly appreciate as sometimes I get nervous or frustrated when being coached. Fun times for the kids! Spent an hour throwing axes with 4 13-year olds ... no one had done it before but they had so much fun and no one got hurt! It's essentially $25 per person (min 4). The axe guide (forgot what they are called) was patient and explained technique and gave good pointers for the kids to improve. He kept a good pace to let them play 3-4 games and have some time for "free throws" too. Really fun experience! I have to admit, when my friends asked if we wanted to throw axes I figured this would be a quick 10 minute novelty thing that would get boring pretty fast. I was very very wrong. We ended up throwing for a full hour, and even then it was hard to pry those axes away from our hands! Or host was super friendly and accommodating and taught us proper throwing techniques as well as how to play a few games. I had no idea you could essentially play darts but with Axes. Around the world is super quick and fun. Also, I expected the axe throwing to be loud and give me a headache, but they wet down the wood so the axes stick softly without a lot of banging, which was great. (Although there is still the occasional loud thunk! when you inevitably miss the target) While the axe throwing setup is run and paid for separately from the brewery, they have a pretty spacious room with full table service so you can order food and drinks while you play. Also there are two TVs in the room for watching sports. You can do some serious multitasking here. $15 a person for 30 minutes (usually they let you play longer if nobody is waiting). Sunday's are $5 off for ladies, and $5 off anytime if you wear a kilt. You can make reservations ahead of time for at least 4 people but it is a bit more $$ reserve the space for a specific time. Bottom Line: More fun than expected with all the amenities of the brewery included. I will be back for sure. read more

Fun time had drinking and tossing axes. There were six of us and we had a patient and knowledgeable Marshall in Thorfinn. I would suggest meeting up before your reservation so you can get the chitchat and shenanigans out of the way. That way when it's time to learn how to throw an axe you can make the best of the instruction. We didn't do that and we missed out on having a bit more learning and more time throwing sharp objects. ~$30/pp for an hour and totally worth it! We came with a group of 4 and come a bit early to fill out their forms but they do it all online so you can finish pretty quickly. There are two main areas 1) one side with two lanes side by side 2) one side with just one lane for a smaller group. As you wait you can pick up food or drinks next door and even order at Celtic and they bring it over as you start your hour. One hour was a great time for a group of 4 since we were able to warm up and finish all the games! Our coach was great and such a pro that it was hard to compete but he made the experience so fun. Had so much fun at the Laurelwood location. Lana, our pro thrower, was very helpful and she was just fun to have around. She made things light, but also fueled the competition. Definitely a fun idea for a date night or group activity. An hour went by too quickly. Will come back for more! You are welcome to grab food and drinks at the bar and enjoy while you play. What can you really say about a place that serves things to numb your mind and hand you sharp objects to then throw with no experience truly needed... I feel that this is definitely one of the fun activities you can take someone to if they are not used to these kind of things being available. Now I grew up a lot of my life throwing things and trying to make them stick into wood whether it be a fair, renaissance fair or even just the backyard or neighbors fence (swear mom it wasnt me, maybe a wood pecker?) Anyhow I have always loved these experience places it's a lot more fun than dumping $15 into a mixed drink, or waiting on a pool table to get open, only to find a bent up stick. Now I am no pro but I definitely have enough experience to come to a place like this with the willingness to listen to the person explain the process to me well my time is ticking away by really and truly sometimes it goes on for too long and it seems that there is favoritism played at places like this one thing I didn't like was we did have to wait for the people before us to run long and our time seem to end right on the money... The person instructing got more pleasurable as time went on initially a little standoffish and didn't like anyone besides her instructing the group... In the heat of it in the middle of it it was fun we had a good time when I go back I don't know maybe just set up a stump in the backyard but if you meet up with a group of friends and watch some thing structured it's a good time if you're more experience you might just wanna bring your own equipment so maybe you don't have to go through the whole briefing and hand holding. This was AXESOME! I was trying to find something fun to do for a friends recent birthday and found this place on Instagram. They immediately wrote me back and were very helpful and assist in making a reservation for us. We arrived at the brewery and were greeted by Beast, an incredibly friendly dude who informed us he was going to lay down some knowledge on axe throwing. After going to an axe throwing place in Los Angeles, I was pleasantly surprised at how thorough and quick Beast gave us a training session and before we knew it, we were throwing axes and having an amazing time! Beast hung with us for 10-15 minutes in the beginning as we threw a few rounds and then we were on our own for the rest of the session. Beast never left the area and continued to pop in to offer advice, positioning, encouragement or a laugh. Overall, I highly recommend for folks looking for something fun to do, either as couples or in a larger group. It's fun, AND the beer at Laurelwood is delicious. While throwing axes, I enjoyed a Kids These Daze Hazy IPA. It was sooooo good, I even bought a pack to take back with me to California. We were enjoying dinner with a beer and decided to try this. My partner had seen them down out Feckin and thought it looked fun so we wanted to give it a chance. I thought it was a great addition to the bar, giving patrons something new and different to do. Definitely would be fun for groups. Thor was our instructor and really nice. There was a large group of hearty drinkers wanting to do a competition. Thor gave us instructions and let them practice more. After that we were able to use the single lane without interrupting their game. Not everyone knows time management and we really appreciated not having to wait a long time to get started. My partner was much better at it, but we had a lot of fun. You really have to put your whole body into it. I'd definitely recommend trying this at least once. My boyfriend and I came to Corner 14 in Oregon City to do Axe Throwing and it was a great time with a fantastic instructor. I was really worried that after 15 minutes I was going to get bored, but the 1 hour time slot flew by and we learned fun competition games to play. I will say $30 per person for 1 hour seems expensive and my boyfriend who had done axe throwing a few years back said it was cheaper when he did it. But overall I was impressed at how fun this was and I would for sure do it again! read more

SUPER FUN and unique! Getting the form & technique down took longer than I thought. I think we spent at least an hour there (but it didn't feel like it.) We got great pointers from the guys there. The two big burly dudes manning the caged alleys were very knowledgable, encouraging and kind. I hit 3 bullseyes during the night, but I was happy to just get the axe to stick on the board! It was $15 per person per hour while switching back and forth on one lane with my friend. $25/hr for a private session. We came a few days before, but weren't notified that you must wear closed toe shoes. Seems like an obvious rule, but we just didn't think about it, so be prepared! You are allowed to eat and drink in the axe-throwing section of the restaurant. Channel your anger into axe throwing, have some drinks and food. Thor was our host, and he was super friendly, a good instructor, and all around interesting guy! Laurelwood is a nice bar/brewery too, they have service in the axe area (along with tables). It was very chill with three throwing lanes and two types of axes. There are also purse/bag:coat We came on a weekday around 3pm when they open and there was only one other couple of people throwing. It was very fairly priced as well. I definitely recommend it as a very fun activity! You can compete or just practice throw. My boyfriend loved it and had a great time too. read more

so fun! booked an hour long appt online for a group of 5 first time throwers. The next group was late so they let us keep throwing till they arrived. I believe we were taught by Lana and she did a great job and was super fun! she jumped in to even out our teams when we were playing games and would do things like throw underhand or with her non dominant hand to make it fair. all in all great experience 10/10 would do again and major perks for being attached to a brewery! thanks Lana! read more
