The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

Unfortunately an odd snowstorm derailed the original March opening weekend, but I was still able to visit a few days later. Their grand opening is scheduled for this weekend with a schedule full of special events. If you are a tried and true thrift enthusiast, always looking for the best deal, to be honest this location is not for you. I'm one of those people and was a little taken back by their pricing. Let's touch on that for a moment.....prices are not horrible, but they are horrible compared to what I'm used to. THIS IS A BOUTIQUE THRIFT STORE. The staff even told me so, and is geared towards the tourist crowd, or those folks that might not otherwise purchase good second hand. At first glance, you won't know you're in a thrift store by the merchandise offerings and elevated displays and that's kind of the point. It's beautiful and their "better" name donations will end up here moving forward. It's evident someone with a skilled eye is responsible for the store layout and displays, which are beautiful. Parking is ample in their own lot. Hours are limited as of now but that could change when tourist season is in full swing. They will NEVER be open on Sundays, as they are a christian based ministery and the stores raise funds for addicts and their recovery.. What you won't find here is a huge selection, but adequate, the best of the best. Housewares unless it's higher end or decorative. A second floor is currently being renovated for future expansion, and the staff are wonderfull. Although it's not a store that will be on my thrift rotation due to the fact that I'm a resller and can't make money on retail prices but a lovely store I'd recommend for anyone looking to dip their toes into the reused world.

It's like a jewelry grab bag with each vessel filled to the brim with tons of jewelry. They are extremely reasonably priced. How fun it will be to get home and discover the treasures that await! My Mother's favorite save for special occasions was the Noritake complete sets. We would get the cheap stoneware free place settings at Publix supermarkets after you spend a certain dollar amount. We each had every day free Publix sets in two different pretty stoneware patterns. My daughter just like my mother that entertained in the 1940's and beyond, she saves her fine dinnerware for company!! I Love my friend Michael's review and the memories he brought back. Word of advice: At discount stores there may not be full place settings. Also look for flaws in your selection. Otherwise enjoy!

I used to make fun of my mother in the 1970's for getting a free dinner plate with every fill-up at Exxon. Well, I'm no better. New year, new stuff as the saying goes. Enter Noritake, the venerable brand (established 1904 in Noritake, Japan) of fine porceline dishware. Beautiful modern design, quality glazing and they all match... what's a boy to do. Five stars for finally overcoming Exxon.
