After all, you can't go on vacation without a working phone. Using another phone, I searched around Panama City Beach for all screen repair businesses. A lot of local ones showed up with less than stellar reviews. Of the national "chain" locations, my alternative was uBreakiFix or Batteries Plus Bulbs. Between the two, uBreakiFix was $100 cheaper and had a turnaround time (with appointment) within 2 hours. Not to mention, it is an authorized Samsung Repair Facility, so I know if I have issues, I can take it back to that location or any uBreakiFix for that matter. So what distinguishes Verizon from the rest? Most cellular service networks now have great coverage and when cellular service works they are great. So all the technical stuff is a given. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WHAT MAKES VERIZON STAND OUT. Everyone I talked to over two weeks, for about 40 hours, online, on voice, and in person were very nice. They assured me they would take care of my problem. They repeatedly went on and on about my value to Verizon. They lied. Near the end of my encounter with this monument to indifferent incompetence a Verizon employee told me that many of the operators routinely promise actions just to get you to end the conversation. I was told that there had been no follow up on my previous calls. That was the only truth I heard through this nightmare. When the problem Verizon created was finally corrected I asked the supervisor for a recompense for all my trouble. This "supervisor" acted annoyed, complete with hemming and hawing, then said she would give me a $50 credit. I received a $20 credit. Drop the mic. Try anyone else. It will not be worse. I promise.
