Great pizza, great wings, great vibes, great beer!! You won't be disappointed. Try the coffee and cigarettes.

Cellarmaker Brewing Company is a friendly spot where all ages are welcome and pets are allowed. They have a large seating area outside in the parking lot with a large mural. They also have a lot of seating indoors including tables, picnic tables and a couch and chairs. The menu ranges from various styles of beers to cider, wine and alcoholic options. They also serve up snacks, salads, pizzas and straus soft service ice cream. I enjoy that they make both beer and wine on site. That's not something you see very often. The staff was very friendly throughout our visit.

We dropped in Saturday around 5:15pm. Parking lot is shared with another store that was closed so we parked in one of those spots. It wasn't too busy to get beers and a table. We also ordered meatballs to try. It was very salty but has a spicy kick to it. Would like to try their expensive pizzas next time. We liked one of their seltzers and 2 hazy IPAs. Their staff is friendly and lets us sample beers before we commit. We even got to try their Pinot noir that they make. It was a light and fruity Pinot. Family friendly. They got a photobooth machine and a claw machine.

This is my go to brewery in the area, the Coffee and Cigarettes Porter is maybe the best beer ever made combined that with a fresh pepperoni pizza and a homemade hot sauce... 10/10. The people working are all spirited about beer and pizza and I love that. With some kid games in the back it's family friendly as well. Can't wait to come back, love the spot.

The Tiny Dankster from Cellarmaker Brewing Company!

Cellarmaker was another brewery in California I have been meaning to try and the opportunity came up and it was great to take the opportunity and enjoy their beer! Steve and I had their Pale Ale known as Tiny Dankster. This was a good, solid Pale Ale and was very refreshing to drink. Flavor features with this beer are tropical, dry and clean flavor characteristics. I do love the dry and clean aspects to a flavor profile than I used to so it's always fun to detect those highlights when drinking craft beer or cider. The beer is light and hoppy as well and it all rolls together very well to make a very solid beer. Good first time experience with Cellarmaker!

TL;DR: cute spot with interesting selection of beers but on the pricey side. There's also food available! We'd been to Fieldwork a couple of times before and were looking for something new to check out. I checked Yelp and was honestly attracted by the pretty canopy in their outdoor seating area so we came by. What a great discovery! They had a nice selection of their own beers (similar price point to Fieldwork, so not all that cheap) as well as Rare Bottle beers which are all aged. Since I don't drink beer, I tried the guava cider (juicy and delicious) as well as the Rose which was marked as a beer/wine hybrid - it was very fermented tasting with an acidity to make your mouth water, the taste grew on me after a bit. We didn't try any of the food but I thought they had a good selection of appetizers, pizzas and even cookies for dessert. It was very chill overall and service was friendly. I did end up loving the outdoor seats, but the picnic benches inside were nice too. Overall we would probably rate this a 4.5 but took it down a notch for value.

I haven't been to this Cellarmaker in Berkeley since the switch from the closing of The Rare Barrel. The space is still large and open, but there are a few added touches. They have a claw machine and pinball machine. The back area where bottle pickups used to be, now has seating for added seating for guests. They offered some NA beers and they still serve other guest taps besides their own. They are also still pouring some Rare Barrel sours. The beertenders were all friendly and paid attention to detail. Three of us went to grab some pizza and a pint. The pizza at Cellarmaker is great. I didn't know they offered a gluten free version which my wife was happy about. So we opted to try both pies gluten free. We got the Pep and the Mortadella & Potato. I must say they have great GF crust which is extremely hard to come by. It was great! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the beer but I did take some pics of the pizza. I'm sure we will be back again for more pizza & beer during the daytime.

Good place! Sat outside and there was plenty of room! Good place to have some food and drinks! Service was really good! Would highly recommend for a nice night out in the area.

The SF location of Cellarmaker has arguably some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. When I heard this location had a Tavern Style version I knew I had to give it a try. While the pizza is cut like a traditional tavern style the dough is actually a thinner version of the dough they use for their Detroit pie at the SF location. This is not so much a complaint as an observation as the pizza absolutely rips. I tried the truffle fondue and the mortadella and potato and both were out of this world. Their homemade ranch is also worth mentioning so make sure to get some if you visit. The space is large and airy with TVs making it perfect to watch a game and the staff is always friendly and fast. I can't wait to go back.

We always make it a point to come here when visiting family. We've been coming since it was Rare Barrel and I'm happy to report that it is still great now that it is Cellar Maker and I love that they still have The Rare Barrel on tap. Fantastic service, excellent ambience. Definitely worth checking out.

Is reservation needed or recommended?

They've never offered or required reservations. House of pizza may be the opposite case if that's your preference.

Is it okay to bring in food?

Yes!

Hi there, any Wifi available? Was looking to host a fantasy baseball draft here, thanks

I think it would be a little difficult to host a draft, whether or not wifi is available.

Are kids allowed?

Not for kids.

Are there tvs?

yes

Does this location sell pizza?

No pizza but delicious beer.

Do they have a happy hour?

Hi Steven, Our beers are priced very reasonably compared to the rest of the city so it's kinda like happy hour all the time!…

Are they dog friendly?

No I went last month and I have a miniature pincher they didn't allow him in

Short answer: YES!!! the food and beer were both amazing - the beer was a foregone conclusion but to top it off, they had a smidge left of this experimental European-style beer that I thankfully was able to try and that was a special treat. The Italian beef was juicy and had just the right amount of sog without losing it's structural integrity. It's just a section but there's nothing to play with inside. It's an empty area with chalkboard walls and an old broken kitchen set. My 2 year old kid was not interested. There were a bunch of older kids in there around 6-12 years old but they were playing tag. We ordered a large spread. The standout was the pretzel. Wow, it was soft and sprinkled with just the right amount of salt particles. Your teeth just sink into it I. Such a satisfying way. It comes with a butter sauce and cheese. Both were great. I even got a second one !! The pulled pork sandwich was really good. Well seasoned and tender. My picky 2 year old doesn't usually like pulled pork but she had a good amount of it which says a lot. The burger was wonderful too. And the fries are GOOD. Fresh out the frier and well seasoned too. Seating wise , everything is outdoors. There's an adult only area where you can drink alcohol. There's also a little fountain that caught the attention of my kid but it isn't safe to play around and it's not meant for kids to play or dip their hands in bc the rocks are jagged. Overall if the play area was more interesting I'd come here all the time. It's a little too far for me to come here with a kid. The food is good though.

We sat in the adults only alcove, which was nice and quiet. No little rug rats screaming. The whole space though is very sheltered and pleasant. You order at the front counter then find a table.

The taproom had a nice variety of Asian inspired beers on tap, including a masala chai amber lager and Vietmanese coffee lager. Simon -- the owner of the brewery, and the other staff member working that day were both very friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers. The space itself is perfect for large groups. It's a real shame the brewery will no longer be around. Albany is really losing out on an incredible business.

I don't consider myself a beer connoisseur, but I like trying different beers and ciders so this place was right up my alley. I had a friend visiting Berkeley from out of town so we came here to hang out and catch up. One thing that stood out to me is this place, because it's a taproom and not a brewery, is open later than the other beer places in the East Bay. Many choices of beer and cider on tap. I tried the ginger peppercorn cider and it was very unique, I've never had a cider like this flavor, it's almost like a cross between ginger beer and cider. My friends enjoyed various beers on tap. The place is pretty small but very clean and cute. I like that you can choose from 10 oz or 16 oz pour, so people like me can try more varieties in smaller portion than just drinking one boring thing. I like variety. The all you can eat popcorn was a hit with our little group. The truffle flavor really elevates the popcorn and it goes well with beer!
