TCB is the local watering hole where those wanting to escape downtown Fuquay and Varina can come…read morefor a relaxing fun atmosphere and enjoy some drinks. They have a great selection of rotating taps with a focus on German beers. They usually keep at least a couple IPA and Stout taps. They also have wine by the glass. Parking can be a bit of a pain. TCB only has two official parking spots, if there are any spots in the lot use those ones last because all of the lot frequently fills up due to Winging It next door...especially on their trivia night. So if you leave the TCB only spots open someone who can't find a spot may get one. On the bright side, Winging It takes phone in orders and will deliver it to TCB at the bar for you if you ask. Outside food is obviously welcome since they don't have a restaurant. Interesting fact, under the previous owners there was a brewery that shared space with TCB called 3rd Degree Brewhouse. They didn't survive the covid years but it was cool! They regularly have food trucks on some Fridays and Saturdays (who will ultimately steal those two parking spots). They do have some bar food including hot pretzels served with beer cheese and mustard and it's pretty good. They are super dog friendly....like if dogs bother you, don't come here. The owners dogs are sweet and behave. They are also kid and family friendly. Some of the visitors on the other hand, their owners need to train their pups a bit more. I have seen a few squabbles over the years and heard more than a few barking contests. Don't worry, they are usually calmed down fast. And I won't let you know if I was talking about the dogs, kids or maybe both. One of my favorite things is that they use Untappd. You can see their menu on there as well as check in beers as you drink them. As of writing this I have 192 check in's there across at least 6 years. I used to be a regular but I cut back on my drinking and haven't been in awhile, but I need to go to get to 200 check ins! They frequently host DJ Gino for Music Bingo which is my favorite. He also does music, karaoke, record nights, and probably some other DJ-eeyness that I'm forgetting. There are dozens of board games inside, a couple video games, Touch Tunes, TVs to watch sports, and even a golf arcade game. Outside they have corn hole and covered picnic tables with some really nice rocking chairs. Cigar smoking is allowed out front. Aside from the rotating taps, they have a huge selection of refrigerated and non-refrigerated beer, non-alcoholic beer, kids drinks like root beer and Saranack Shirley Temples, and a few other things. Tap water and cups is back in the corner. My only gripe about this place is the $2 uncharge to open a beer from the cooler onsite. Seriously bro, come one, we're already tipping 20-25% on the purchase of that $9 can, I think the bartender could open it no problem and not make it a $13-14 can of beer. This is the only bottle shop that I used to frequent that had a "cork fee" for opening beer purchased there cold. I eventually just started buying a couple to go instead of drinking them there to save the extra cost. Last bonus fact: They used to have a run club and I went a few times and was the slowest one. We ran behind Kohls in those neighborhoods. Then we'd all come over and drink the calories back on but the worst part was on run club night they served free brats with sauerkraut and mustard...so we really put back on the exercise effort.

They do have a pet friendly outdoor patio (with heaters). Nearly everyone there came outside to greet my dog and I. Since I couldn't go inside they watched my dog while I went inside to get a beer. The bartender was friendly and efficient. She even brought out a water bowl. Without tasting other options, I chose the pecan maple porter ($7). It was excellent. Smooth, flavorful, and strong albeit pricy (comparable to other breweries in the area). Definitely would order that again, although I do want to try their other options. Several people were sitting outside and welcomed any at their table and into their conversations. Inside, the brewery was hosting an open mic night. I would have liked to hear more of it, but the outdoor patio was peaceful. As the sun came down, they started the heaters/fire pits. Ample parking is available right out front. Nearby parking lots and street parking is also available. Overall, excellent experience here and I highly recommend this brewery to others!

A lot of people said that the location Oaklyn Springs Brewery opened at was a cursed location since…read moretwo other breweries existed in the same spot and failed. I visited the former one and there was a clear reason it failed...their beers weren't good. Oaklyn on the other hand came in swinging and made some amazing top tier beers right out of the gate thanks to their head brewer Daniel aka Rusty, who developed all of their core beers as well as some knockouts over the years. This is by far the BEST brewery in the Fuquay-Varina area and in my opinion one of the best in the Triangle. I've been a customer since they first opened and I've had over 300 beers per Untappd at this location. I have several bottles of their rare barrel aged releases in my beer cellar. I used to be a weekly regular but I've since greatly reduced my beer consumption for my health and longevity so I don't make it out but a couple times a year now. Their beers are on a completely different level than any other brewery in Fuquay. They host various events and food trucks throughout the week. Long gone are the days of Wednesday night music bingo with DJ Gino and hot dogs with Chicago J Hotdogs. We used to be able to count on those two each Wednesday and a lot of us regulars laughingly joked that Wednesdays was kid night due to the amount of kids in tow and yes I am guilty of bringing my kids...J charged like $2 for a kids hot dog meal, was so cheap to feed them!! They really like to plug in with the community and host fundraising events as well as shopping events with pop-up shops a few times a year. When they were first getting started there wasn't a lot of business or traffic. One of the four owners would often be there, sometimes all of them, and they even paid their own tabs!! On top of that they always made sure the bartenders were taken care of on slow nights. I saw them hand them $100 bills multiple times so they really do take care of their people...you couldn't say the same of Aviator or Mason Jar Breweries. The only problem with the brewery is parking. There isn't much of it. Especially if there is a big event. And if you park in Enterprise's parking lot you will get towed. There have been times I went to visit and there was no parking anywhere. Sometimes you could stop and ask Kumo if you could use one of their spots or park in the collision center parking lot. Now they have two tap rooms so if the brewery is full I would just go to the Varina taproom. I love how community oriented this brewery is and has been and it will go on my favorite lists for best of Raleigh and the Triangle and best of Fuquay.

Serious food safety concerns -- proceed with caution, especially with kids…read more We had dinner at Aviator Brewing this evening and unfortunately had a very distressing experience. Within two hours of eating, both my pregnant wife and our 6-year-old son became violently ill. They had both eaten from the children's menu -- specifically the kids' burgers -- which looked undercooked at the time. The most disturbing confirmation came later, when the contents of the vomit clearly showed the meat was not fully cooked. Our daughter, who also ordered a kids' burger but didn't eat it, remained completely fine -- strongly pointing to the burgers as the cause. To make matters worse, my wife -- who is a vegetarian -- had requested a grilled cheese. When she took a bite, she said it tasted like meat. This raises serious concerns about cross-contamination, and we now suspect the grilled cheese was prepared on the same surface as the undercooked burgers without being properly cleaned between uses. To their credit, management did refund our meal when we contacted them. However, that doesn't erase the fact that we were exposed to avoidable and dangerous food safety issues, particularly concerning for a pregnant individual and a young child. I'm not writing this to be vindictive, but to warn other families -- especially those with children or dietary restrictions -- to be extremely cautious. Undercooked meat and poor kitchen hygiene are not just minor oversights, they're serious health risks. I sincerely hope Aviator Brewing takes this as a wake-up call to retrain their kitchen staff and thoroughly review their food handling procedures. Until then, we will not be returning -- and I strongly encourage others to think twice before dining here, particularly from the kids' menu.

Anyway, went across the street to the Tap House. It was like 130pm on Saturday, but pretty empty. I had the pickle chips to start and was worried that I would ruin my appetite... no chance or that, as the serving, which took 20 minutes, was about the size of a large handful, lol. They were decent, but could have been drained or blotted better, the bottom was a pool of grease. 10 bucks doesn't go very far these days. For my lunch, I had a dozen dry rubbed wings with Spitfire and some other sauce on the side (website is pretty bad) doesn't mention the sauce list. One of the sauces was nice and spicy, kind of surprised they would serve that in NC, but good. The wings themselves were good. Nicely cooked, not too fatty, and a nice dry rub. Service was weird. I had not been there before, and the host... Lets just say I asked 4 times if they had a bar I could sit at, and he said he couldn't understand me 4 times, so I just walked by him and sat at the bar. The bartenders were nice, but the girl that ran my food twice talked so low that I could not hear or understand her... turnabout. Anyway, I like in Cary, and although it was OK, I cannot see myself driving out there again just for the food. If I was driving through and wanted wings, I would probably stop.
