Tyler is the Man! (quite literally lol) He's running a one-man show so its best to catch him when no one else is in the store other wise it could possibly be a while before he can get to you. But you can clearly tell he's working hard and fast and he truly cares. I've brought my phone in twice for a cracked screen. I called around different stores to get quotes and ask a couple simple questions and even just talking on the phone to some of these stores they act like they are doing me a favor. When I called Cell Fone I could tell Tyler had great costumer service and he seemed very honest and upfront. I extremely appreciate that. Also the rates/prices here are VERY competitive. The last time I brought my Samsung Galaxy SIII in to fix the screen it was $79 out the door (I used the yelp discount). On top of that he gives you a pretty accurate quote time on how long your item will take to be fixed. I could bring my business elsewhere, somewhere closer to home or work but because he seems to have good character, great prices, and good work ethics so I will be a repeat costumer and recommend my friends over his way! read more

Tyler is a nice dude but I'm giving 1 star solely because I don't think I deserve to pay $1 for the type of coverage t-mobile is providing for me. I never have over 2 bars anywhere anytime. I advise anyone to never get such an inadequate phone service from here. You think you'd be saving money from your old expensive plan but I would kill to reverse that decision. I was in Santa Cruz for 2 years and I cannot even count the number of times I missed calls for interviews. They claim there is coverage there but it is a damn lie. I am currently living in milpitas and I do not get phone calls still. I have one bar constantly. Can you imagine how sad it is to not have anyone contact you in your very own home for over 3 years while paying +$100? Interviewers are still complaining that they call me repeatedly and I do not receive them. I don't even think I'll pay $1 monthly service for this kind of service once I get off of my family plan since my mom is the account holder. Good ol' Verizon wireless I'm coming for you asap. Someone will reply to my review saying that they can modify and see what they can do about this situation, but honestly there is nothing to be done. Shitty service is shitty service. It's no wonder Verizon costs more and you actually get the coverage you deserve. My phone was working well when I went to his store to replace the LCD screen. However he never told me "I have take a risk that my phone will not work anymore after he attempts to replace the screen". He just said the risk is that he may not change the phone screen and the phone will be just the same as before. If he had told me that my phone wouldn't work AT ALL after his repair, I would never have asked for him to change my phone screen! He should not have used my phone to test his LCD screen many times. If my phone was not compatible with his LCD screen first time, then he should have stopped testing with my iPhone and his LCD screen the second time. But he didn't stop testing my phone until my phone was dead. I believe this was as a result of his testing my phone with several LCD screens and seberal failed attemots to repair it. Paying him $75 USD for the original repair, I then agreeed to let him replace the screen with his "compatible" product (which was the same as the one I purchased from Amazon). After he tried a couple of times to replace the screen, the phone continued to be excessively hot. After that my phone wasn't working at all anymore. Finally, he damaged my cell phone and I could not use it anymore. He refused to refund my money. He said is my phone problem not his problem! He is a profiteer and scam! After a few days I went to the Apple store to fix it. I have to spend $300 USD to fix it at the iPhone store. The Apple store repairman said that the other repair shop didn't install some a small part of the phone and that damged the motherboard by installed repeatedly. read more

The guy Tyler seemed very cool at first but he later used my credit information to charge me without my authorization! He didn't even call to let me know I was goin to be charged until after he charged my account! All I went in for was a credit check to get an iPhone and he told me it would take a few days and that I wouldn't be charged for anything. Then he went and charged my account without getting my authorization first!!! I am sure he is a nice guy but this was terrible service and now the bank had to freeze my account while I go thru a fraud charge with this place!!! I like how my phone is unique and nobody else has it. As a plus, my phone is also unlocked, so I was able to use it in Taiwan and China. Tyler knows a LOT about the different cellphone plans by all the different carriers. Much better than going to a carrier store, which gives incomplete and biased information. He has all the brochures for info, and can give you a price comparison for all the different plans. I broke my HTC Amaze screen, and after calling a few cellphone repair stores, Tyler was by far the most knowledgable and helpful in giving me a cheap price estimate (~$30-$50 cheaper than what other stores offered) for replacing the screen and did so. Only reason I gave 4 stars, is after fixing the phone the speaker had a problem, so I was scared it was broken in the screen replacement process. Brought it in the next day, and it got fixed up and works perfectly now. Just a small worry/hassle to wish he could have fixed it right the first time. read more

I went in a few days back to get my Samsung Galaxy S3's cracked screen replaced. Tyler did a pretty good job of it within 2 hours... There are a few tiny crumbs under the glass, although I don't really mind them given that the glass was pretty badly shattered from three different edges with a lot of shards(They were just hanging in there thanks to the screen protector.) I took the car in to have a timing belt - no not to the cell phone store! Sheesh! Then, I had to buy tires the next day, and on the way there there was a puddle of power steering fluid in the garage. After the tires I had to get a new power steering pump back at the original garage. The old Motorola Droid phone became insane and stopped talking to itself and anybody else too the next day! I went to Cell Fone and they showed me exactly the phone I wanted and were a Page Plus Cellular dealer too for my $29/mo talk and data plan on Verizion. It would take three days to get the phone from Verizion though. That night at dinner with a friend the car died and a transmission warning message came on! It ran, poorly, and I used my friend's phone to call a tow truck. Driving home without a cell phone was not a bright idea, luck was not anticipated at this time! Back to the F-ing garage. I rode my bike over to talk to them the next day, no phone remember, and on the way home a spoke broke! (I knew that this was the last problem, really, I did...) The car was only a bad ignition coil on #2 cylinder! Yay! I got the car back. The phone came in to Cell Fone on a Saturday, but I could not call Page Plus to activate it with my old number from the crazy phone. The owner of Cell Fone called Page Plus for me using his dealer ID, at no charge, and the phone was activated in 5 minutes with no issues. The phone is great and Performance Bicycling shop in San Jose will fix the spoke on warranty for me - they are great too. So, if you need a cell phone and a non-nonsense store with great selection and service for any phone plan go to Cell Fone in Cupertino. It was a pleasure to deal with them and I would send anybody there to get a phone or sign up for a reseller plan like Page Plus - they are also a dealer for T-Mobile and other plans too. read more

Ty, the hands on owner of the store is absolutely the best. He is NEVER PUSHY, NO PRESSURE and works with what you want and what you can afford. He is the ONLY person I go to for any questions about cell phones, plans, whether to change a plan, transfering numbers to new phones, lost chargers, lost phones. He is one of those RARE FULL SERVICE businesses. I have been going to Ty for the last couple years for all my cell phone questions, changing carriers, extra services he offers. He is ALWAYS respectful, polite, acknowledges you even if he is busy with someone else, and still does not make you wait because he is able to help you while the other customer is deciding. GO HERE for all cell phone needs, or even just to check out the latest. It is worth the trip...parking not so good during lunch time, but still worth a little bit of a walk if you can't park in front. I don't even bother to try to decifer all the different offers online anymore, why would I when Ty already has and can direct you for the best plan/phone/carrier to suit YOUR needs, not the online marketer's. Either the five star reviewers are ignorant, naive, or employees. I went there twice and all I can say is BEWARE of this shop!! This Taylor dude is a seasoned talker. After the trick he's done to me, I've learned that he plays polite, professional, but will do very dishonest things behind your back to sign people up with these Too-Good-To-Be-True deals. What creeps me out more is some random lady off the street told me a similar story about this very same store. I got trapped when this Taylor the salesperson convinced me of giving me discounts on a phone, followed by rebates from the phone company, and also monthly discounts on my bill. Stupid me, I signed up. After a few months the monthly discounts on my bill stopped and recurring charges all increased. When I questioned the shop, he simply said he couldn't do anything about it. Now I'm locked in a contract that I DID NOT sign up for. After more research, it turned out that he signed me up as an employee of some company that entitled me for monthly employee discounts. Behind my back!! My monthly discount stopped because the phone company found out I was not an employee of whatever company Taylor claimed I was with. What I've learned out of all this was if a deal sounds too good, there must be a catch. What's really scary is probably a lot of people have been scammed by this store because one lady was telling me a similar story about this same store! Yikes! Before I left to spend Christmas in my home country Fiji I called up and asked Ty if he could unlock my Galaxy note 4. He said sure bring it over and I will not keep the phone, you can take it back. He checked my IME # and gave me back my phone and said it will take 2- 3 business days and will call me before sending me the code. That was a Saturday and I have to leave the country the next wednesday. On Tuesday afternoon Ty called and texted me the code. When I arrived in Fiji I bought a Sim card from Vodafone and installed it, straight away it said enter unlock pin. I entered the numbers and in a few seconds my phone was unlocked and hooked up to the local service provider.
