I decided to look for alternative medicine. Something around acupuncture and herbs. I sent an email to a couple of the TCM practitioners here and Dr. Kevin Hu answered. He said that he was interested in my condition and that he might be able to help. We setup an appointment and I showed up at the set date and time. The examination was around 1 hour. I could tell that Dr. Hu was deep in thought while scribbling something in Chinese on a piece of paper. He was checking my pulse on both hands; my tongue; my legs; blood pressure; eyes... He then explained that he is recommending a slight acupuncture and a mix of herbs. I was lying for 40 minutes with acupuncture needles. Right after I could feel a change in my legs and feet and overall better than when I came in. After taking Dr. Hu's herbs for a week I couldn't believe how so much better I felt. I could walk like when I was much younger. I haven't had any shortness of breath. I ate better. I slept better. I was starting to feel happy again. I can only imagine what will more time give me. But as for now, after just a week of treatment, Dr. Kevin Hu did something that my cardiologist and all other doctors never did in the last 10 years. I warmly, warmly recommend Dr. Kevin Hu. My experience was great! Melissa is kind, intuitive and helpful and she made my first attempt at acupuncture a great experience which has me coming back for more! The studio is very relaxing, comfortable and professional. The front end staff are friendly and helpful, there's always delicious tea there for your enjoyment too:) The location is not downtown which for me is nice as there is free and easy street parking. Oh, and they have an awesome payment option!!! It's a sliding scale between $20-$40 per treatment. You just tell them how much you'd like to pay, they have a sheet showing their suggestion based on your income. PS - I also get my hair cut next door and they're pretty fab too!!! :)
