Rev Jim was super flexible with Zoom/Skype video chat meetings because of this, and I even had the opportunity to visit him for an in-person meeting at his home when I was in town at the Beacon Hermitage. I must say this is a beautiful, stunning, and artsy property if you get the chance to visit! We worked with Rev Jim for a couple of years leading up to the wedding where he provided us a questionnaire for my husband and I to fill out separately with some personal questions about our relationship so he could learn more about us as a couple. I highly recommend taking this seriously as he was able to truly personalize and incorporate our love into the ceremony this way! Rev Jim also provided a document listing the different types of ceremonies to select what suits us best. We aren't the most religious, but wanted a little mention of god's blessing to appease our family, and he nailed that. He was also very accommodating with having a couple of family members conduct a reading, as well as allow time for my step-sister (who is a musical theatre professional) to sing at the beginning of our ceremony. We also decided for our unity ceremony to do the handfasting which truly "tied the knot"! During our reception, we received so many compliments from our guests on his ceremony, and even had some friends ask if they can use him for their wedding! He was so positively impactful and is someone to remember forever as such a big part of our special day! Check out his Instagram (@revjimrooney) to get a glimpse of what he does! You won't be disappointed!! Thank you for all the hard work and dedication!!!

These two have…read moredone A LOT of work to the place, from ripping out pews to transforming the basement into a cool bar. You can tell there was a lot of work done and these two are passionate about their place. I went to a wedding show at The Venue as I have never heard of this place. At the wedding show there were raffles and I ended up winning a discounted Sweet 16. I am SO glad we went with this venue for our daughter's sweet 16 as it was just magical. The owners, Jenn and Dan, were excellent to work with. They were good with communication and helped with whatever they could. Dan was on hand the day of and assisted with setting up more tales/chairs and answered all questions we had. The Venue already comes decorated with flowers along the columns, lights strung above the entrance and along the front of the alter as well as all around the back wall, a gift table and cake table, and even a photo wall with props. The tables and chivari chairs were included in the price. All we had to do was get linens (which we bought online for $8 ea) and centerpieces. The tales and chairs were set up upon arrival and we decorated the tables. We supplied all cups, plates, napkins and utensils. We brought food in and had a buffet style dinner. In the back there is a private bridal suite where we got ready. Here there is a bathroom, multiple mirrors, chairs, a couch and area to do hair/makeup. It was perfect and more than enough room for a bridal party to get ready (we only had three girls getting ready). There is a small bar on the first level that we used as a cash bar. Downstairs there is a huge, beautiful bar that was made from the old pews from the church. It was really beautiful. Down in the basement is where the groomsmen can get ready. There are TVs in the room where a game console could be connected (Xbox or PS4 anyone?), a shuffleboard table and foosball table. There is also a bathroom for the guys as well. We hired a DJ and there was plenty room for him to set up all of his equipment and lights. Everyone who came to the party couldn't believe how beautiful, magical and elegant The Venue is. We received compliments through the night. I wouldn't change anything about this venue as it is perfect. Jenn and Dan are WONDERFUL to work with. At first I felt weird partying in a church (Catholic school girl here) but it was so relaxed and calming in a way that everything just flowed so smoothly. I highly recommend The Venue for an event.

The officiant, Donna Marie, was really nice and accommodating. The place is this tiny room, in what seems like a maze of a building, but it was so intimate and cozy. The place was clean and the officiant complied with all the Covid regulations so we didn't have to worry about that. We did the "sign and smile" package and it costs $75. Quick, easy, and simple. We were in and out in maybe 15 minutes. The officiant also mails out the signed document which saves us time and hassle. I would recommend this business to anyone who are looking for an officiant for their marriage ceremony. Thank you for your service!

I was searching for a wedding chapel right here in NYC that would allow for multiple witnesses, provide photographs, and remained reasonable in cost. This place came up in my Google search and then I looked at their instagram photos and it was so cute and I love that the officiant is a woman with a quirky personality. Donna Marie is super sweet, very efficient, and she definitely does a wonderful ceremony. She is literally a one woman show taking pics, setting up, officiating and maintaining a sense of humor. If I could do it again I wouldn't change a thing.

Just attended a beautiful wedding there Saturday evening and was super impressed with the event venue! Modern buildings with lovely facilities (nice woodwork, nice layout, well-apportioned kitchen, modern bathrooms). Perfect for the wedding of approximately 150 people and easy parking. Limited cell service, but let's face it, this is in the middle of nowhere in upstate NY. If you logged into the WiFi at the venue though - worked great: nice perk! bathrooms were really clean and they had little toiletries and emergency products for people etc. The bridal suite was set up very nicely as well - really well done! Check out their website and Facebook! Much nicer venue than almost any wedding I've been to in this particular (very economically-depressed) area. Was super glad it was this pretty for the bride and groom who put a lot into making their wedding a fabulous one! They had Dinosaur Barbecue (which was fantastic!) catering and a cute bar setup! Very sweet venue! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a NICER wedding or event venue in that area. https://www.thegroveofbv.com

A very fair-priced venue and from the beauty of the grounds to the quality of the buildings (a lovely chapel and reception hall), to the helpfulness of the staff, everything was superb! They set up a nice party tent outside the reception hall on the patio, for hors d'oeuvres and a bar. The Grove catered the food themselves and the meal was top notch! And what was monumental for us, was the pleasant attitude of Chris and her staff and their determined effort to make the day a huge success - which they did! As we discussed some challenges in the planning, Chris confidently said to us, "We can make it work"!! From that point I knew it was going to! What a wonderful day it turned out to be! From planning - to clean-up, working with the staff at the Grove was a joy! We highly recommend this venue. John and Linda Hunter of New Lisbon, NY
