It turns out that not everyone I called got back to me and, even for those that did, Ryan was still offering very competitive rates, and, again, I appreciated his immediate and pleasant help. Leading up to the inspection, I received several reminder text messages. I didn't necessarily need them all as I am rather conscientious with my already busy schedule, but I can certainly see where the chaos of home-buying would make it so that others would appreciate as many calendar reminders as possible. On the day of the inspection, Ryan arrived early. Our realtor let him into the property and he was already hard at work when we arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time. Ryan worked through the property taking about 2 hours during part of which we felt comfortable leaving for an hour to go get breakfast. When we came back, Ryan walked us through some things that he had discovered. He was incredibly thorough while still making the information accessible. (Sidenote: My spouse and I, who both love what we do in our own careers, had a moment of enjoyment listening to Ryan geek out about an example from a previous inspection in order to better illustrate a point. In the middle of the stressful home-buying process, it was actually fun to listen to someone talk about a job that they clearly enjoy.) Since our inspection three days ago, Ryan has followed up twice by email and text to make sure that we understand the information in our highly detailed and well-documented report. This was our first home inspection, so I do not have a comparison to make, but I know good service when I experience it, and this was excellent service from an obviously meticulous and enthusiastically knowledgeable professional.
