    Just stayed in the house for racing weekend. When we arrived there was a thick layer of grease in…read morethe kitchen sink. Dishwasher full of dishes. Weren't sure if they were clean or not. Carpets were filthy. There was food from previous tenants in the fridge. It was tidy and cute, but not very clean. The shower light had a short that caused it to come on and off randomly. Plusses were: Air conditioners in every room that worked, and plenty of hot water. 1 bath upstairs served 4 bedrooms. Keurig machine worked once. Talked to owner about replacement and were told he would take care of it next day. He came and got it, but didn't replace it.

I was astounded by the beautiful grounds! Ron was THE best host anyone could ever ask for. His attention to detail was above and beyond. Anything you needed, he was there for us from the booking until the end. He is absolutely a one-of-a-kind, amazing host!! Bride and bridesmaids stayed at the stunning Victorian house the night before the wedding. It was pristine, clean and such a treat to be able to have the house on the property, which added to the experience. There is even a gorgeous pool with seating all around and a hot tub! It does not get any better than that! And ladies, the bridal suite is amazing! I would say without hesitation, this is the most beautiful wedding I've ever attended. The ceremony was outside under the arch, dancing was in the immaculate barn complete with lights and chandelier on the second floor. Food was served under tents on the lawn, which was perfect. What I loved was that there were so many places you could go on the property, should you want some privacy - the barn, the house, seating by the pool and other seating around the property. I will forever have etched in my heart how wonderful this place is! Everyone that attended thought the place was spectacular and the Bride & Groom are over the moon with cherished memories of their special day! Thank you again, Ron for making our day an absolutely memorable one.

While looking for a…read morewedding venue that would be easy for our family and friends to travel to, the Barn came up in our searches. Now, you may think that it would be insanely difficult to plan a wedding from the opposite side of the country, but Casper is so organized it was stress-free. He is very quick to respond to e-mail correspondence and very thorough on phone conversations. There is so much that goes into these days, but the barn truly has it down to a science. With easy to follow brochures and forms, the planning went so very smoothly. We wanted a very intimate celebration, so we chose a weekday package. It was so affordable and very inclusive, we basically had to sign and choose food and a few decor options. It may sound like we had a simple day, but it was truly anything but. Kim and Kelly designed the most beautiful floral arrangements for the day - I am still shocked at how perfect they were. The entire staff at the barn moved like a well-oiled machine. The Captains House, The Hilltop Pavilion, The Pine Grove, and The Barn are out of a fairy tale. I can't even begin to describe how perfect and beautiful our day was. When I relive the day in my head, I wouldn't/couldn't ask for anything more from The Roxbury Barn and Estate. What a wonderful venue with the greatest staff. I'd choose this venue 1,000x over.

    Perfect venue for our daughters wedding…read more Our daughter lives in NJ and we are in TX. She wanted a very small immediate family and close friends only wedding and we could not be any happier with her choice for the venue. The Roxbury Barn setting, staff, and food were exceptional! We only had a total of 15 attendees, including the bride and groom. The mountain and luxurious green setting, clear crisp air and forest was a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony. The barn and outdoor area was extremely comfortable for the reception. Every staff member was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. Casper (the owner) and Kim (wedding coordinator) made sure that each guest was well taken care of. Our daughter raved about her experience planning the wedding and said that everything exceeded her expectations! We have never seen our daughter happier and so stress free. Thank you to all at Roxbury Barn & Estate that made this a very memorable occasion.

    I could have not have planned my wedding and remain sane without Lisa. I had a tented backyard farm…read morewedding, so we needed to do everything down to extension cords! Had no idea of all the details and if you miss one, it could really throw off your day. Lisa thought of everything and was so incredibly organized. Her spread sheets and check lists kept everything running smoothly. When I did feel overwhelmed, one call with Lisa calmed me. The day ran smoothly and Lisa was there to make sure it did. As things did come up (and they did) she handled them without me even knowing. I did not have to speak to one vendor or deal with anything on my wedding day and that's worth everything!

Not only did she…read morestreamline the bride's "to do" list by recommending musicians and florists, her excellent knowledge of wedding-day requirements helped ,  my Daughter in Law Amanda immensely, saving her lots of computer search time and false-starts.  Her help walking us through the rehearsal was vital, getting us organized the day of and "on our spots" at the right critical time. It's all such a whirlwind of activity. And the logistics at our farm were challenging, to say the least. I also greatly appreciated how, during the actual wedding and party afterward, Sandra and her assistant were there, in the background, keeping the caterer happy, moving tables, shuttling slightly inebriated guests to their cars, (thank you, especially for that. I think I would still find people walking the horse pasture fence, looking for their cars.) And for doing the behind-the-scenes things that rarely are noticed, unless they're not done. (For example, one of the porta potties malfunctioning). Sandra handled that with quiet speed. And mostly I appreciated how she took care of Amanda's mother's doilies, the family mementoes, tucking things away in the pool house for safe keeping. And for a good, general tidying up at the end of the night.

If you don't get to the end of this review and only read one thing: Hiring Sandra was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She is beyond dedicated to giving you the wedding of your dreams, and her ability to execute and make it ALL happen is nothing short of extraordinary. Every wedding needs a Sandra! We had the pleasure of working with Sandra from the beginning of our wedding planning journey all the way through our 3 day wedding weekend. When we were stumped looking for venues that could accommodate our large guest list AND a weekend-long celebration. Sandra approached us with a "think outside the box" venue: Timber Lake Camp, a beautifully serene summer camp nestled in the Catskills. We were unsure about the idea of a summer camp wedding but trusted her instinct - and thankfully we did. The day we visited the camp we knew it was PERFECT. 500 gorgeous acres with plenty of room to accommodate ALL of our guests, that we could have all to ourselves for an entire weekend - camp cabins, facilities, staff, and all! It truly felt like she had pulled a rabbit out of a hat and that was only the start of Sandra's magic! Throughout the entire year and a half long planning process, Sandra lent us her ear and expertise: she listened to our wishes, concerns, thoughts; guided us through a million different decisions; provided alternative options/ideas to meet our budget; and found the perfect vendors to bring our vision to life. She sat in on our calls with the coordinator at the camp, and even made visits to the camp with us - including one visit during a snowstorm! She also managed our multitude of vendors (including 3 separate caterers!) from the initial inquiries all the way through to the end of packing up after the wedding. When the wedding weekend came around, Sandra stayed on site all 3 days and made every event run smoothly - we felt like she was somehow everywhere all at once! We had multiple events, including our rehearsal, a Welcome BBQ, Karaoke Night, late night bonfire, and activities throughout the camp. If there were any hiccups, we didn't know about them! The day of the wedding, between everything she was coordinating and the multiple vendors on-site, she somehow still found time to check in with us to make sure we were okay. But honestly we truly felt at ease with Sandra running the show. Her professionalism, calmness, and get-it-done attitude made every part of the weeknd run seamlessly! And on top of it all, she made our marriage official by signing our marriage license. :) A total bonus that she is ordained and a special memory to share with her as she was such a big part of our special day! Our guests are still talking about how magical the weekend was. Many specifically commented that even with so many events and activities going on, it was one the most well-coordinated and organized weddings they'd attended. It was definitely a huge effort to pull off a 3 day wedding weekend on a 500 acre camp, but teamwork truly made this dream work! We could not be more grateful to Sandra, her team, and all of our amazing vendors for giving us a wedding better than we could have ever imagined! We can't recommend Sandra and HVC enough.
