After all 3 kids said they wanted to try fishing this year, I looked into a private trip and I couldn't justify the cost since I didn't know if they'd actually participate or even go... Cee-Jay's had a sign up advertising daily trips for about 1/2 of what a private trip would cost. So, I made a reservation. They do not guarantee that fish will be caught. Because it's fishing! If you want a guarantee, go to a grocery store.... That being said, we have minimal fishing experience. So, a bit of instruction on how to actually use the reels would have been helpful. Luckily, a fellow passenger, helped me out with the basics and we easily caught on (pun intended)! Shout-out to Amy! There were about 30 people fishing on our trip and I think about 20 fish were caught. I did catch one but my 3 kids were not so lucky this time. But they all kept trying for most of the trip and even baited their own hooks with fish, no less. And all 3 said they would do something like this again. The mate (or deckhands) job is to help bring the fish in when caught and untangle lines. So help, other than that is minimal. If they added another person, prices would go up. All in all, I'd do this again if it was just me or 1 kid. If you have 4 or more people, it might be worth it to book a private trip if it's in your budget. I'll also add that 2 of my kids did not bring sweatshirts (why would they listen to me?!) and the owner heard us talking and lent them 2 sweatshirts which was very nice! They do clean up the fish for you as well, so bring cash to tip!

    Seal of approval.

Had a blast. Came on a Sunday morning for the 4hr ride and was looking exactly for this kind of no-fuss fun head boat fishing. There are no shortage of charter operators but they are way more expensive especially when you're solo or in a very small group. Didn't catch anything, but the captain did his best and the mate was really attentive and focused on making sure we had great lures, bait, and everything we needed. She got me fixed after tangling my line more than once. The boat had everything we needed including a functional, clean bathroom on board. I'm only in town for a weekend but I've been fishing on boats like this for decades. This trip met every expectation I could throw at it. Sure I didn't reel in a keeper this time, but I'd come back any time. I presume prices are higher than usual this season because the boat capacity is capped well under its normal. It's definitely felt worth it to pay the premium this season, my trip felt almost like a private charter for the fraction of the price. Oh and at the end and along the way we saw seals!!!

The Cee Jay's the best boat in the Northeast. They have real good coustmer service. RAnd have real good mates and captians which are why their a fv that catches fish

1st fish she's ever caught...... 34" Striper - A woman and a girl are on a boat, holding a large striped bass caught during a fishing trip, with the ocean and sky in the background.

I booked a last-minute charter with Cee Jay for myself and 11 year old daughter today. Capitan Mike found the stripers right away and Tammy was awesome with my little girl. Can't recommend this crew enough. I would give 6 stars if I could!!

My daughter and I had a blast! She had just as much fun catching the bait as she did fishing. We ended up catching a striped bass which the first mate cleaned for us. And he let my daughter feed a seal with the rest of it. The crew was great and very helpful. We even saw a whale on the trip! It was the highlight of our vacation

Just some of the haul from our charter.

My family went out on the Cee Jay fishing two days ago with a group. We had a fantastic time and caught a ton of striped bass. The captain was great and his first mate was helpful, knowledgeable and patient with the kids and our crazy group.

First bluefish catch for my son! He gives Cee Jay a thumbs up!

Since the fish were hitting on spinning reels the captain and mate asked if everyone had a chance to land one.

We booked a Sunset Sail, which is a 1.5 hour trip around the bay, and we were glad to be joined by 2 other couples and 1 other pup! (If you're counting, that makes 8 humans and 3 dogs aboard!) You can also book a private trip, which is slightly more expensive of course. Captain Ro and Kaled were a great team and made us feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. It was a beautiful day to sail (week before Labor Day weekend) and Captain Ro allowed us to climb onto the deck once we killed the engine and were out in the bay. These trips do not guarantee animal sightings but we did see a whole group of seals bobbing their heads out of the water watching us as we sailed on by, which was extremely endearing to see. FYI the crew provides life vests for the pups and you can bring whatever you want to eat/drink aboard to enjoy.

We were really trying to find an intimate experience and support a local business... Dog Gone Sailing Charters was the way to go. I recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful day on the water on an awesome vessel.

The only issue I had though was a HUGE problem for me. I needed to use the lavatories and ended up settling for the closes porta potty. I mean I've been camping, I've been to summer camp. I've seen worse. I mean the bathroom there is called "The Morgue." This was just wrong. No one had done maintenance on this facility, and it was a biohazard. Seriously, the person who is in charge of cleaning the area and maintaining this facility should be fired. I rarely say this, but I'm serious, someone could get very sick from walking into this space and touching anything. This was not ok in the least bit.

I've been coming up to P-town each year since I was a kid and this is a spot I love to visit each time. Before you get to the pier you have a good selection of places to grab a quick bite to eat. The ferry for Boston is at the end of the pier, but there are other spots along the way where you can catch boat or fishing trips. Some cute little shops also dot this pier, I picked up some adorable Cape Cod art prints for my wall. Be sure to look for the bench surrounded by the buoys, it's a nice place to get a photo. The pier is also a nice spot to take photos of the Pilgrim Monument. This is very close to Commercial Street, so it's worth taking 10 minutes to walk down the pier and soak up some New England vibes.
