my family has had two daughters go through Cedars Preschool and we're grateful for them. as a parent to know that your child's safety is Top Priority means a lot. from the director, to the kitchen staff, to the front desk support, to the teachers, everyone desires the same thing for each child. read more

I have been a parent here for several years now - I have had two kids in almost every classroom at different times. I cannot speak highly enough about this place or the people here. The staff is loving and kind - they genuinely care about every single child that attends. They know everyone by name and they are always there to help with anything parents may need help with in the complicated process of raising little ones. My son and my daughter have loved this place like a family - and as my son is approaching the end of pre-K at the end of this school year, we genuinely feel like it will be a loss for us as a family not having that same daily connection here. I know that they will for sure return every summer though! It's hard to find a place that is so wonderful - they focus on learning and character building - preparing for the next stage in their lives - but the kids genuinely love going as well. I can't say enough good things about this entire place - I never worry if my kids are happy and are exactly where they should be. This is a special place. read more

Mrs. Michelle has been such a blessing to our family. She is incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with my daughter. Her calm and nurturing approach makes a huge difference, especially on days when things may be a little challenging. She communicates well and truly takes the time to understand each child individually. We are very grateful for the positive and supportive environment she creates in her classroom. It gives us peace of mind knowing our daughter is in such caring hands. - Hezekiah Davis read more

I really wanted to like Five Forks Academy, but the fact is this place is not for everyone. They have a beautiful playground and when I picked up my child the two young gentleman who appeared to watch the toddlers in the evening after the teachers left were nice, BUT that is it. Our main teacher (Jessica) just seemed very inexperienced working with our toddler. My child is shy, quiet and usually likes to play alone and that is fine. The teacher probably is used to working with the same type of children. For some reason while my son was coming here he started to dread going. He started to say he did not want to go and started to act out, sometimes he would cry, but we just thought he would be okay after a while. The director would call us sometimes or someone else and would say he was having problems, or worse and ask us to pick him up. The focus at this school seemed to be on the negative things and never on the positive things. Unlike our previous daycare in Lawrenceville (Dacula Academy) where the owners who had children themselves would focus on the positive, find solutions on how they and the parents could work together as a team, Five Forks Academy does none of this. One of the administer ladies at the front deck (usually sits on the left) would always give my wife and myself a very dirty look when arriving or picking up our child. Does she even smile? While coming here, I sadly cannot recall one time when arriving or leaving that someone at the front desk ever greeted me (Hello/Goodbye/Have a great day/evening/weekend, etc...). The front desk seriously needs to adjust their communication skills and become friendly. In the hospitality business, people like that would be fired immediately. The good news is we removed our son from Five Forks Academy and switched daycares and honestly he seems to be doing well. Of all the complaining they did at Five Forks Academy about him, he does not seem to be doing any of the same things, nor does he say he does not want to go. I learned a big lesson coming to Five Forks Academy. As a parent, if your child starts acting differently, does not seem to want to attend a certain daycare, switch them immediately. Our children does not talk much, but when we asked him if he likes his school, teacher, etc... and he kept saying no, we should of listened right away. If your child is introverted, this place is not for you. I cannot imagine how this place would be with kids with learning disabilities. I'm glad my child is now in a daycare with friendly administrators and great teachers who focus on the positive things. It's actually nice to see a teacher light up when they talk about a child, it shows they care, just not here. [Review #388] (34th Review of 2016) read more

There are a few things that can make a preschool/daycare feel like a welcoming place. And they're simple: a hello when you walk in, a smile, your child being greeted by name, friendly communication with parents, to name a few. Cedars Preschool at Lilburn lacks that. I take my child there reluctantly only because he has friends and staff who has has known since he was two (prior to this new administration). I used to feel like I was dropping him off at a nurturing place that provided the best care for him outside of our home. It's a shame that that is so far from the truth. I wish that the same efforts put into beautifying the center were put into the soft skills essential for caring for children and collaborating with the families that choose to bring their children here. read more

The building and set-up are very nice and this daycare has great potential, unfortunately, it ends there. There is a high turn over in teachers, they don't all speak English well, and our daughter was learning incorrect words for objects we would then have to correct. In the few months our daughter was there, they lost a quality star rating but the cost was still a premium. They consistently told us things they were going to improve for months, but never did. Just empty promises of things they were going to do instead of things they were actively doing. The building was not secure while we were there per quality rating standards and part of the time their check-out process was to simply initial next to your child's name on a piece of paper and leave with them. No code or anything. We constantly would have no information about what she did for the day including what she ate or what her potties for the day were. Anytime we would ask, the director would get very combative and be difficult to get information from for simply wanting to have a status update of our child for the day. The owner was also rude and vindictive. After simply asking to know what was going on with our child during the day, the owner called me back just to berate me and tell me I could not ask anything, they weren't going to tell me anything, her director was the top priority over the children in their care, and then hung the phone up with no discussion and still no knowledge of what was going on there. We originally did not want to uproot our daughters schedule, but after some of these events, we did not feel our daughter was safe there and were not going to keep paying for an expensive baby sitter as they work their way towards losing another star rating. We immediately set her up in a different school and are so happy we did. We are not happy with how it ended up happening, but ultimately are glad it forced us to move day cares because she is developing so much more now and is actually excited to go there. read more

My child attended approximately 4 weeks to a month at Five Forks. The worst mistake ever. Apparently you have to look a certain way in order to be accepted. I had a hard time with the owner. She was not the most pleasant. My child cried all the time and would wait by the door for either her dad or I to pick her up. My intention was to have my child in a daycare that would really care for the kids. The last straw was when the owner called me at work and asked me not to dress my daughter a certain way so that she could be potty trained. It was always something. I felt that She could have had that conversation with me when I got off of work. I got off work early and withdrew her from the daycare and never turned back. That was the worst experience that I'd had since living in Georgia. It took me a long time to even write a review because I wanted to write how I felt about this situation and not be angry while writing it. The truth is people have their own little way of telling you "we don't want you here". I would have rather the owner tell me she didn't have an open spot available then I waist my time enrolling my child. It took me a while before I enrolled my child into another daycare because I feared it would be like this one. I found a great daycare that had teachers with longevity and an owner that cared in Snellville. I hope things have truly changed since I withdrew my child because parents want to know that their child is ok when being left in the care of someone else. read more

Well I could give a detailed review, but I don't have anything to go on. I emailed them once two months ago for information about enrolling my son into the school, and never got a reply. So I emailed again for more information. They replied this time. I didn't think an email could sound rude. It basically said "an infant is 230/ week, and we don't have any room in after school care" 230 a week is crazy. I paid less than that for a Montessori school in Boston. Maybe some information about the school would have been nice.. Something to justify spending so much on child care. read more

This school is amazing! It's more than a daycare. Let me start by saying, my daughter was home with a nanny for 16 months and I was terrified to transition her to daycare. I went through 3 other schools before settling on Five Forks Academy. This school is the best in the area! From the first day I found the staff - including the Owner and Director - to be professional, kind, nurturing and like a family to the kids they watch. My daughter had a tough time initially and the staff was patient and kind to her throughout. Now, after a year there she is thriving! The school has excellent lesson plans for all ages - they do lots of outdoor play, arts & crafts, and fundamentals with the children. They have lots of activities to engage and involve parents as well throughout the year. The food is excellent, as they have a chef on staff to make the meals in house daily. They are big on hygiene and the students wash their hands throughout the day; it's one of the cleanest schools I have seen. I'm honestly so grateful I found the perfect second home for my daughter at this school. She loves it there and I feel confident she is being well cared for and enriched! read more

Two years ago, we chose Childtime of Lilburn after touring several options in the Lilburn/Lawrenceville area. We based our decision on location and the recommendation of some local families. Here are some key issues: -High turnover, even by daycare standards: We had two kids who respectively moved from the toddler room through preschool and from preschool through Pre-K. The classrooms were a revolving door of teachers, which culminated in both Pre-K teachers (a lead teacher and support teacher) leaving in the middle of the 2025-2026 school year. Turnover created instability in the classrooms and disrupted learning. -Teacher quality: While we had some staff members who were truly caring and dedicated, we saw an overall decline in teacher quality during our two years at Childtime. We saw good teachers take initiative and attain additional early childhood credentials, only to not be retained when they sought better compensation. It was frustrating to see good teachers leave and be replaced by people who were inattentive and unengaging. -Lack of structure: Related to the previous point, diminished teacher quality led to poor classroom management. There was inconsistency in activities and schedules, and poor transitions to and from nap time. With lack of structure and boredom, we saw classrooms trend toward becoming more and more chaotic, which was an environment that was challenging for both of our children (our older child who was in Pre-K and our younger child who had transitioned to preschool as a 3 y/o). If your child does not do well with lack of structure and boredom then they might struggle at Childtime. Do not expect teachers and leadership to work collaboratively with you to support your child if they are struggling at Childtime. -Questionable inclusivity: While we did not perceive racial or ethnic bias and found the staff to be quite diverse, we did sense an underlying culture that was not supportive of nontraditional self-expression. If your child expresses themselves differently this may not be an environment where they feel protected from bullying and supported by the school. Why 2 stars and not 1 star? 1 star felt like it would be dismissive of the hard work and dedication of the good teachers we had at Childtime. It's too bad that many of them have left. We regret not leaving sooner. *Suggestions* 1. Monitor cameras: -the livestream (included in the price rather than being an add-on like at some other providers) is certainly an advantage, but do not assume that because the livestream exists that staff are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Check in at different times of day and call the front desk if you see that your child's class has become chaotic or notice other issues. 2. Check the Georgia DECAL inspection reports: The Georgia Dept of Early Care and Learning maintains a quality rating system of daycare providers (Childtime of Lilburn has 1 out of 3 stars; they are listed as Childtime Childcare #1102) and publish licensing and incident inspection reports. It would be wise to check the portal periodically and see what issues are arising, as these reports are not directly disclosed to families by Childtime. 3. Trust your instincts: If you notice red flags, bring them up to teachers and leadership. If you feel they are not being adequately addressed, leave.

Our daughter would come home crying most days and also started asking for "time out" while at home whenever we tried to redirect her from a behavior. For the amount of money you are paying to send your child here, we expected a kind, respectful environment but that is not what we experienced. Every report sent home had nothing but positives to say about our daughter. At pick up, we would often discuss the naps because she has mostly dropped her nap. Sometimes she would sleep and other times she wouldn't so we knew to put her to bed earlier that night. I followed their schedule on weekends and put her in her room for "nap time" at the same time as daycare but it was really her just playing quietly in her room, reading books in bed or singing. It was suggested that we find a food that would make her sleepy (guess what, there isn't one). Once we received a note saying that our daughter had a "hard time listening" when I asked for clarification I was berated by Harry, with pantomiming of how my kid had a tantrum the day before. I asked to take her home so that she would not cause a problem that day. Harry brought out my daughter along with everything in her cubby, I clarified I was not unenrolling her, just taking her for the day. Extremely unprofessional behavior. Later that week we had a parent teacher conference and we come to find out that our daughter was not napping (we were not surprised by this) but that she was disrupting the other kids in the room, crying loudly and waking the others up by running around the room. We were never informed about the other behaviors but were somehow expected to fix it. We asked for accommodations , can she go to another room, read books, color at a table and they were completely inflexible stating that is when their teachers need to take their breaks, clean and fill out the progress reports. We decided to look for a different daycare in the area and found a more suitable, caring group of folks that genuinely enjoy having our daughter. In the last 4 weeks we have not had any report of bad behaviors and we ask daily if there is anything going on. Our new daycare has flexibility around nap times and seems to be better equipped to accommodate a wide range of children and their individual behaviors

One of a Kind, Truly AMAZING experience! Five Forks Academy, both facility and staff set themselves aside from every other daycare I've heard about or visited. They are definitely without a doubt #1 in our books. Our son, who will be 2 years old in November, has been with Five Forks since 8 weeks old. He has grown in so many aspects of his life. The care and learning experience given to him from infanthood through to toddler surpasses anything we could ever imagine. Growing up,I always wanted to be stay at home mom because I was terrified of the idea of leaving my child with anyone else. The staff at Five Forks has completely put my mind at ease and now I could never imagine my son anywhere else. He has been given so much and we have the peace of mind that day to day he will be in wonderful hands and protected to the max all while learning and growing his knowledge and imagination to the extreme. What's even more, Ann, Teri, Carol and each teacher on the staff interact, play and read with each of the kids on a daily basis. The kids learn to be respectful and courteous to others all while learning to sing their ABCs and count in Spanish! In our opinion, Five Forks should be at the top of everyone's mind when choosing a daycare for their child. We absolutely love Five Forks Academy and God-willing will NEVER go anywhere else. We recommend this school to anyone wanting to provide their child/children with the utmost top notch education and care possible. Nothing comes close. read more

My children have been at Cedars for over a year now and I can't say enough positive things about it! The new leadership team led by Ms. Tamita along with Ms. Emma and Ms. India make me feel like they are personally invested in the well-being of my children, their learning, and growth. They provide calendars each month which include fun events and holidays. They host great events such as International Night and holiday themed parades/lunches. Cedars also has breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as provide diapers/wipes for babies -- this is a huge upgrade from when my children went to Goddard who provided none of that but charged more! I love all of the staff and it's so hard to single some of them out when they've all been great but I definitely want to give Ms. Lauren, Ms. Lupe, Ms. Ava, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Helen, and Ms. Jaida their flowers! Ms. Cheryl, Ms. Monique, Ms. Victoria, Ms. Takira, and Ms. Kenadee are my children's previous teachers but they still make sure to make my children feel super special and taken care of. They deserve all the raises!! Even the kitchen staff Ms. Rashida and Ms. Pam go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

-- Words Cannot Express Our Gratitude When we enrolled our twins in Ms. Dom's class, we honestly weren't sure how she would manage having another set of twins in the same room -- two little ones with completely different personalities, different needs, and very different opinions about snack time. What we discovered was something truly special. Ms. Dom doesn't just show up and watch kids -- she pours herself into every single day. From the moment we drop off in the morning until the end of the day, she is fully present, fully engaged, and somehow managing to make every child in that room feel like they are her favorite. That is not a small thing. That is a gift. She has an extraordinary gift with toddlers. Managing a room full of little personalities, big emotions, and endless energy is no small task - yet she does it with patience, warmth, and genuine joy. Ms. Dom, you are truly one of a kind. Our family is so lucky to have you. Thank you for treating our kids like they're your own every single day! - Arthur Family read more

My daughter started a Cedars about 6 months ago and we absolutely love it! She's now in the Jr. Toddler room with Ms. Tasha and Ms. B, and she is thriving. They are both wonderful teachers and keep her engaged in so many fun educational activities throughout the day. Even more importantly, they create such a loving environment. We're constantly blown away because she always comes home and demonstrates something new she's learned. The center holds events regularly and offers lots of opportunities for families to be active. I know she's in good hands with Cedars, and we plan to keep her here until she starts school. Highly recommend! read more

My son has been at Cedars Preschool since November 2023 and the director and entire staff anre amazing! Everyone is engaged and dedicated to the kids and their families. Our family has the closest relationship with Mrs. Crystal in the Senior Toddler B classroom. She is an active instructor and has helped him transition to a school-based environment so quickly. She also helped potty train him within a few short days. This is my son's first time away from home and he loves her and talks about her constantly. I highly recommend Cedars at Lilburn for your little ones/family, you will love them too! :) read more

I would like to nominate Cheryll Fitts and Jill Humphreys and the amazing team of teachers at Cedars Preschool. My twin boys are always so excited to go to school in the mornings which is a huge indicator that they feel safe and happy at their school. I did a lot of research because our area is filled with daycares. I visited each one and toured each facilities. Kids R Kids was the most professional and clean. The staff members were all warm and welcoming. Ms. Tammie gave me the tour on my first visit and answered all my questions. I immediately knew I could trust Kids R Kids Suwanee with my child. They offer secure web cam view of my baby's classroom, so I can see him throughout the day on my phone. It gives me great peace of mind to do so. Whenever there was anything I am concern with, I can always discuss it with Ms. Tori. She has been very generous in accomodating my requests and concerns. My son's first teacher was Ms. Rebecca, who is no longer with the center. From then on, he moved up to Crawlers, then Walkers, then Talkers. Each teacher took extremely well care of my baby. I can see him improve significantly on social and learning skills. I love that he is also learning baby sign language, something I had wanted to teach him. His current teachers, Ms. Rebecca and Ms. Alexis take wonderful care of my son. Ms. Rebecca is very attentive to the needs of each child. Other teachers from the center also help watch after my son from time to time. For instant, Ms. Rhonda had watched Ethan and also fed him breakfast whenever I had to drop him off very early in the morning. Ms. Jennifer would change his diaper before his teacher arrives. Overall, I would recommend Kids R Kids to Suwanee to everyone, because I know having trust is very important when it comes to your childcare. My son went to Kids R Kids for a little over two years -- from the time he was a baby until he was 3 1/2. At first, everything seemed great. His teachers adored him, he loved going, and he had a little group of friends he grew up with as he moved from room to room. But things changed when he moved into his last classroom. Around this time, he was going through a lot -- a new teacher, a much larger class, starting potty training, and having to watch most of his close friends move on to another room right outside his own. It was a lot for a little boy to handle all at once. Instead of being given understanding and support, his struggles were treated like major behavior problems. We started getting constant phone calls about his "bad" behavior -- things like hitting or throwing chairs -- but when I spoke to his teacher, her version sounded much more like typical toddler behavior. Still, the administration's tone made me feel like I was failing as a mom and that my son was somehow broken. The final straw came when, after one especially hard day, they slid a brochure across the counter for an early intervention program for "special needs." I left in tears, feeling completely defeated. Out of desperation, I had a child psychologist observe him -- and she told us there was nothing wrong with our son. She even said it was wrong for the school to suggest such a program without us initiating it. It broke my heart to realize that instead of helping him through a tough transition, the administration had given up on him. We eventually withdrew him, and I'm so glad we did -- he's thriving now. I truly believe many of his teachers cared and did their best, but the administration completely failed us. They lacked the training, empathy, and communication needed to support my child when he needed it most. Our son deserved better. Every child does.

They know every child by name and greet each and every one individually when they arrive in the morning and when they are picked up in the evening. They are consummate professionals and consistently communicate any changes or updates with the parents. They effortlessly maintain full control of their managerial tasks while making time to check in with (and support) the teachers and teacher's assistants. Both Ms. Tammie and Ms. Lindsey go out of their way to ensure the children have fun while learning during their time at the center. They also bring in extra activities the children can engage in to nurture their creativity. I am constantly in awe of their patience as I have never seen them get flustered even with dealing with the rush of morning drop off, afternoon pick up and many children engaged in different activities. I have also witnessed them step in, when a staff member is out, to pick up the slack and make breakfast or snack for the children. They always ensure the children do not have any disruptions to their daily routines. Both Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Tammie have organized seasonal events for the children and parents that they attend outside of work hours and it is another opportunity for us (parents) to engage with them. My review is a testament to the wonderful experience I have had at Rosebud and I know it is because of their dedication to the children. However, after discovering that staff had slapped my child on the hand and bringing this to their attention, everything changed. Instead of taking accountability, they chose to remove my son from the program. I removed my original review and am posting this updated one because parents deserve to know the truth. It is beyond unacceptable that any form of abuse is tolerated in a daycare setting. And instead of making things right, they also kept my full week's payment without issuing a refund -- which is nothing short of theft. As a Black mother and an educated woman, I will not be silenced, intimidated, or "talked down" to with empty words. If necessary, I will take legal action. Parents need to understand what kind of environment this is, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this daycare to anyone. Thankfully, by the grace of God, I have since found a 24-hour daycare in the area with fair rates, professional staff, and a nurturing atmosphere where both children and parents are treated with genuine respect. Bottom line: Grayson Academy is not the safe, trustworthy place they claim to be. Parents, please be cautious

Nia, the assistant director, gave me incorrect pricing information not once, but twice. She also told me that the enrollment fee would be waived. Because she had already given me inaccurate information earlier that week, I specifically asked if she was sure, and she confirmed that she was. When I received my first bill, it was a little under $500, which immediately confused me because there was supposed to be a $250 discount applied to the first week. I asked the director, Renee Milton, why the bill was still so high after the discount. She told me it was because the enrollment fee had been added. I explained that Nia had told me the enrollment fee would be waived. Considering the multiple pricing errors beforehand, I felt some type of accommodation should have been made. Nia clearly needs additional training, and the communication between management is poor. Now onto the director, Renee Milton. She was extremely unprofessional throughout my experience there. One morning while dropping my children off, a teacher was running late. Renee said to me and another parent, "If it was up to me, I would get completely new staff." We were both visibly confused. As a parent, that is not something you want to hear from the person running the daycare your children attend. A few days later, I saw my oldest child doing something inappropriate on the camera system, so I called the school to address it and speak with my child. Later that evening, Renee brought up the situation and I mentioned that I like to monitor my child's behavior. She then responded, "You need to watch the cameras for these teachers as well." Again, I found this incredibly unprofessional. Regardless of how management feels about staff internally, those conversations should never be had with parents. The final issue involved my account balance. Earlier that week, I spoke with Renee over the phone and explained that I would pay the balance on Friday. She agreed that it was fine. Then, a day or two later, she messaged me through the parent portal reminding me to pay before drop-off, and I responded confirming that I would. Friday morning, I paid the balance before bringing my children in. While dropping them off, one of the teachers told me, "Renee said you can't drop off your child unless you pay your balance." I was absolutely upset. First, because I had already communicated with Renee multiple times about the payment. Second, because no teacher should have access to or be discussing my personal billing information with me. When I addressed it with Renee, she seemed more concerned about finding out who told me than understanding why the situation was inappropriate in the first place. At that moment, I decided my children would no longer attend this daycare. This was honestly one of the worst daycare experiences I have had. Renee and Nia are the main reason I would never recommend this school. It is hard to feel comfortable leaving your children somewhere when the director openly speaks negatively about staff members to parents. That being said, I do want to acknowledge the teachers who were wonderful to my children. Ms. Smiley was amazing, and honestly one of the main reasons I stayed as long as I did. Ms. Houda (I may be spelling her name incorrectly) was also wonderful with my 4-year-old and treated her with so much kindness and encouragement. Ms. Rochelle was incredibly sweet as well, and I truly believe she cared about my children. Those three teachers deserve recognition because they were the bright spots in an otherwise disappointing experience. The school has potential, but the current leadership is what will continue to hurt it.
