When you first enter CBMS, you're automatically greeted by at least 3 different people - you're guaranteed a smile and a friendly "Hello". Each person you encounter loves being there - that is the difference between a job and a passion. Each and every person, from administration, to the teachers, and all the way to the chef, love children and that is easily realized after only a few moments of interacting with them. Faculty who I've never even met greet my child by name and he in turn knows theirs. Our boy talks about his teachers at home, calling them his "friends". Each member of faculty has developed a relationship with our boy and that goes to show that is not just a job to them, but a calling. Our son has learned Spanish and knows 2-3 Spanish songs by heart. He knows his whole alphabet and can count to 20. He speaks in 8-10 word sentences and is fully potty trained. He is 2.5 years old. CBMS helped us get there, it truly is an incredible place with employees who genuinely love children, and who foster such a pleasant academic environment. The school has undergone some change in administration due to unforeseeable events, but they came out stronger than before. The new director, Jamie, has incorporated a fresh new approach to keeping parents in the know with an online classroom website, where parents are updated daily on what their children are learning, fully equipped with photos. With this knowledge, we know what to focus on reiterating and working on at home - it's really fantastic. Jamie always has time to listen to a parent's concern and takes feedback as constructive criticism and follows up and makes the appropriate changes according to the feedback. What a breath of fresh air, a person in administration who actually listens! We cannot wait to continue our relationship with CBMS, after all, they have become our family.

The new director Jaime is horrible at his job and even worse with communication. I can't believe…read morethey have someone like his as director. We've had two other children attend that school in the past and were satisfied however this time around it was much different with his attitude and demeanor. Highly recommend all parents to stay away from that school. It is not what it used to be.

Our oldest son started GAC in K6 and will be going into 5th grade next year. Our youngest started in K5 and will be going into 3rd grade next year. For our time there, our family at GAC has been as near and dear to us as our home church family. The teachers that our boys have been blessed to have were the perfect match for their personalities and strengths/challenges. Both boys were diagnosed with dyslexia 2 years ago and the Orton-Gillingham based academic support program has been fantastic! I know that both are a bit self-conscious reading aloud but we had some daddy-son time last night (Mom was out with some neighborhood GAC moms) and I asked both to read a chapter of their current summer-reading book to me. I was blown away! Their progress since just the first of the year is stark and I know that is due to the support they have received this year from their teachers (and my wife's activity as well). Granted that we have not seen life in middle or high school and some of the challenges that others experienced may exist on some scale but I keep meeting so many neat kids that are near graduation that have nothing but positive things to say about their experience. I sincerely believe that the staff will work with us to overcome the challenges that we face when/should they arise. Is GAC perfect? Probably not. The community is made up of flawed human beings who are absolutely capable of making mistakes. But I sincerely believe that they are acting and making choices that is a continuation of the work my wife and I are doing to raise our children to "grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and all people." As far as the power lines, I will have to look for those. I don't recall seeing any but looking at Google Earth there might be some at the back of campus near the baseball field. If so, that wouldn't be anywhere near the Village, but again, I will have to look when school starts back. And for the sake of a little fun... even though my favorite colors are orange and blue, black and red attire is now in my closet as well. Go Spartans!

I have two that have dyslexia that came in remediated, but they do have a remediation program. There is academic support. Those teachers are amazing and push into the classroom in elementary school. the teachers are supportive, communicative, and available accessible and connected with our kids. My kids are involved in sports music, dance, arts , theater. There are a lot of opportunities to be outward facing service projects, mission trips. While I appreciate that, my kids are taught the Bible and a relationship with Jesus and the teachers reflect that my kids also have a diverse group of friends that come from different religious backgrounds, economic, backgrounds, and political backgrounds, which aren't emphasized, but there is a variety of demographic. My son instance has friends that are Hindi, Punjabi, agnostic. My kids are taught not just about Christian world views, but different religious world views, different scientific views like evolution in biology (which someone for some reason said they aren't taught) and they're taught from a scientific standpoint not trying to dispute the scientific theory. As rhe get older, they have opportunities to question, debate, express their opinions in different classes and that's encouraged because they don't want the kids to be programmed robots. As I stated earlier, their families of different economic backgrounds, but that is not something that is known or something that at least for my kids they don't care if they have a lot of money or don't have a lot of money. It's just not important in the grand scheme of things. They have a diverse group of friends and I find that a lot of my friends kids find their niche. They find their people because there's so much variety and diversity. Well, they do a annual fun fundraiser. You could donate a dollar and still participate with zero judgment or not at all. There is a level of understanding from learning disabilities to economic to religious backgrounds that is accepted without judgment. Of course there's gonna be jerk kids at every school, but that's the minority and not the majority.

She…read morebegan Pre-K here at just four years old, full of excitement to attend school and make friends. Unfortunately, she was placed in Ms. Winn and Mr. Robert's class, and from the very beginning, she became fearful and distressed. Each morning on the way to school, she would cry, and at home, she expressed that her teachers were unkind. She shared that when she cried, Ms. Winn yelled directly in her face, saying, "Stop crying, you're annoying me," and even smacked her hand once. There were multiple occasions where I picked her up, and she looked completely defeated and unhappy. When I asked how her day went, she would respond with only "okay," offering no details. After sitting her down to talk, she admitted, "My teachers are just really mean and yell at us all the time. I don't like going to school." As a parent, this was heartbreaking. School should not only be a place to learn and grow but also a safe environment where children feel nurtured and cared for. Parents place tremendous trust in teachers, and when that trust is broken, it has lasting effects. No one should take on the responsibility of teaching if they do not have the patience, compassion, and genuine care required to guide young children. My daughter was terrified to start Kindergarten because of this experience. Thankfully, she quickly realized not all teachers are the same. She now has a wonderful teacher who shows kindness, encouragement, and patience--everything a young child deserves. She wakes up excited every morning, eager to learn and share about her day, and it has completely restored her love for school. These are the educators who deserve recognition and appreciation--not those who treat children as an inconvenience or are "just there for a paycheck."

We offer before and after school programs, full and part-time preschool programs, and summer camps. We make a difference in the lives of young children by striving to provide excellence in early care and education and serving with a commitment to helping each child achieve their full potential. We use Creative Curriculum to stimulate emerging skills in a developmentally appropriate fashion. Our teachers use regular observation and assessment to insure that each child grows and develops at their own pace. Believing that language and math skills set the stage for learning and problem-solving, we begin stimulating both areas in a developmentally appropriate way, beginning with our youngest children. From story time to center time, math and language are integrated throughout our children's day. Children need boundaries and routines. Our Daily schedules include blocks of time for large group participation, small group interaction, independent learning in learning centers, and outside exploration and play. In addition, each classroom has scheduled mealtimes, snack times and rest times. Daily schedules are posted in each classroom. We accept CAPS. We look forward to meeting you and your child soon!
