First off .... The staff is amazing, I don't know what these other people are talking about. Ms Jada and Ms Chantell who work at the front are amazing, and I love them. My son's teacher Ms Bri and Ms Asya are the best and he enjoys his class tremendously, even asks to go to school on weekends. Kids are kids, and ish happens, but I would bet a week's worth of tuition that these teachers are not watching kids get bullied or hitting these kids. I am leaving a review of my experience here because I know there are moms out there sifting through reviews and doing thorough due diligence in search of the right fit for their child. So this review is two-fold, providing reasons why I would and would not recommend enrolling your child here. I DON'T recommend Bellbrook if you are looking for a place for your child to further develop as they are not equipped with the manpower or resources and the teacher to student ratio is very high. The staff is not very knowledgeable regarding additional resources to help your child reach developmental milestones, as I've asked on more than one occasion but never received an answer other than they would "get back to me". So, my child was dual enrolled in another program as well to further assist. I DO recommend this center if you need safe free play for your child as the staff does ensure the safety of the children, which in most cases is what we truly ask for as parents. I would also like to highlight that Ms. Z was really great with my child. I hope this helps depending on what your childcare goals/needs are. read more

This was the worst daycare I have ever worked at. I had to provide all of the coloring pages, crayons, colored pencils, clay, sidewalk chalk, construction paper, scissors, movies for nap time, and anything else these children did. They were doing a summer camp only to cancel several of their field trips on the day the trips were planned. I had a student in my class complaining of a boy touching her and trying to lay down next to her during nap time. She tells me she told her daddy what was going on and he told her that if he does it again he would come to the center himself to take care of this boy. I went to Chanel and told her what was going on. She responded by rolling her eyes and telling me that the daddy wouldn't be allowed any where near this boy. I still continued up until the time I left. One afternoon Chanel was complaining that she had to go pick her daughter up but she was afraid she would not have enough gas. She told me she called her best friend but they didn't have money to give her. I had a $10 Walmart gift card in my pocket so I gave it to her so she could get gas. I was never thanked and she never bothered paying me back. I had high hopes for this center because I truly cared about the children. Denise constantly told me the parents hated me. I would ask for examples of what I was doing wrong but she never could tell me. I made it a point to speak to each parent as they picked their children up. This center is owned by Teresa Tant and she works out of the Rosebud center. I have tried calling her twice a week for over a month but still haven't had a returned call. Stay away from this center after I left I pulled up their Bright From the Start write ups and was surprised about how many there were. Teacher/student ratios, child breaking his arm and no one let the parents know, it is truly disgusting. One afternoon I was playing a game with my class when my pants ripped across my thighs. I had stood at the door and explained I had texted my husband but he wasn't available. I asked if I could go home to change my pants only to be told no. I worked the remainder of my shift with a blanket wrapped around my waiste. I have a lot more to say but it doesn't fit on this page. I also wanted to let the public know that while Denise was out of town for her birthday I was locked in the center and everyone had gone home. Thank God for the gentleman that was replacing a water fountain so I was able to leave. Once Denise had returned I asked if I could please speak to her. She says sure it's not like I have a ton of work to do and a million people to call. She never got around to speaking with me until Thursday afternoon when she suspended me for a day. I pray they get the management together for the sake of the innocent children that go to this center. They deserve to have people who love them. I will miss my children, but I thank God that I do not have to continue to take a beating day after day from Denise, Bevery and Channel!!!! Horrible group of Management. Bellbrook Daycare I must say hands down has mastered the art of childcare. As a first time mom it was hard for me to trust my son with anyone that wasn't family. However, Bellbrook is the next best thing to family. I'm just so blessed to have found a place that truly care for my special needs son. Mrs. Denise hands down is the best in the business. I visited four childcare centers before taking a tour at Bellbrook. The first positive was the lighting. I'm surprised when a daycare is not well lit. That was not the case here. The front was well lit, clear of clutter and very inviting. The second item on my checklist was the double layer is security. One needs to have access to not only the front door but then a second door in order to get to the children. In today's climate, that's important. As I continued my tour, I expected the hallway to smell of cafeteria food and sweaty children like most daycares. NOT HERE! The hallways and classrooms are equally well lit, clean and organized. After my tour, when I received my parent packet, I was pleasantly surprised that for all these amenities, they were more affordable than the other centers I had visited. The staff is also AMAZING! **Please do not take your child to Bellbrook if you have another option.** My child was attacked by another kid while at daycare and ended up with huge bruises (larger than an adult hand) on both sides of his stomach as well as his back. Classroom Teacher (Mrs. Lisa) was not aware of what was going on in the classroom....another parent walked in during the attack and stopped the other kid from hitting and pinching my son. Asst Director tried to stop me from talking to the parent who saw the fight and keep telling me it was against policy to talk to another parent, but could not provide a written copy of this policy when I asked. Asst Director was hesitant to provide incident report, had to be asked to sign it and put me out of daycare when I asked to document and make comments about my son's injuries on the form before she tried to issue unsigned copy to me. No one from management called me when the incident occurred, I walked in to find my son holding 2 ice cubes in a napkin. No teacher was providing him TLC. Two ice cubes was not sufficient due to the large areas of bruising as well as the multiple injury sites. This occurred during summer time and the ice was melting and my son didn't even have the ice in a thin napkin up to his body. No one from management (not the Asst Director, not the Director (Mrs. Denise)) even called to check on my son or discuss a safety plan going forward with the much bigger kid in the same classroom as my kid in the multiple days my son was out of daycare due to his injuries. I had to call Gwinnett Police to document the incident. When we did return, the Asst Director would leave the front desk, close the door, and go hide in the back leaving the front area unattended. This incident started over electronics which the Director (Mrs. Denise) said was banned, but was not enforced inside the classroom on multiple days with the teacher (Mrs. Lisa). High student-to-teacher ratio inside the classroom. On another incident, my child was allowed to lay directly on the floor in front of the teacher (Mrs. Lisa) even though he had towel in his bookbag hanging on a hook a few inches away. And wouldn't you know it...he got ring worm on his chin shortly after this incident. My son told me that daycare staff put a bandage on his face...but here again no one spoke to me about the rash on his face, I was not issued an incident report and my son was allowed to continue to go to daycare while he was highly contagious and not being treated for ring worm (putting other kids at risk to get ring worm as well). If my child receives medical attention, I expect an incident report...and didn't get one on many occasions when my son was injured at Bellbrook. I wish I had read Yelp! before I signed up at Bellbrook....other reviews state their child was injured as well at the facility. Daycare staff also let me sign and take kids out of daycare that I knew, but the parent had not issued written authorization for me to take kids out of daycare. The parent was on my list to take my kids, but had never completed paperwork for the reverse scenario...Daycare staff never asked or checked paperwork and let me leave with the kids numerous times. Parents: If you care about the safety of your kids, please don't go to Bellbrook!! read more

My child and I really liked the campus. For the area I found this to be an awesome choice, however if your child is 'above average' dont count on the pre-k. My daughter picked up many less than desirable habits, and although her teacher was very gungho I found her inexperience to be more than annoying on several occasions. I have to update my review. My children attend here and the staff is awesome, however, whoever the owner is (I've never met her) nickles and dimes you to death! Please beware when you send your children here...they changed something up on me at the last minute which they fined me for without even warning me. My husband and I are business owners and we thrive on great business. This place however is subpar. I am very disgusted on how they handle business financially. Because of this, my infant is being taken out starting next week and my daughter who is 4 will continue to go there but we will not be paying the $95 weekly before and after tuition just because of this little $30 dollar fee. Their lost. It's all about the principle of the matter. Because I have to pay this little $30 late fee...they will no longer be getting a DIME from my family and I. Do Not Take Your Child To this daycare!!!!! My son was there a total of 7 days before I withdrew him and never looked back. Within the first 4 days my son was bitten twice (once on his arm & once on his face) and scratched on his cheek severely enough that it bled and the mark is still visible a week later. When I spoke with the center director Denise she advised that these things just happen in waves and went on to suggest that my son (who is 21 months old) get up his defenses???? She actually used that exact phrase - get up his defenses???WTH. She never apologized for my son' unfortunate set of circumstances which I believe were a direct result of a lack of proper supervision. Instead she suggested that , my son, a toddler that is not even two years old learn to "move back" so that he can better defend himself! I asked to speak with the center's owner. Denise advised that she was very busy traveling with her husband who is a builder and that she does not want to ever be directly contacted about any daycare matters? Wow. Really. So, a business owner that doesn't care to be bothered with the daily workings of her establishment. Denise's ignorance was astounding and quite terrifying for some one that is left to care for children that can't fend for themselves. Needless to say, I called and filed a complaint with the state as my child was left in a room with several 3 yr olds all day and he was injured above the shoulders twice in two days and I was supposed to receive a phone call each time and I was never called, only given an incident report. Check out the other complaints and investigations completed by the state on this daycare before you think about allowing them to care for your little ones. Go to www.decal.ga.gov and pull them up. I hope that this review saves someone else's child from being hurt. Don't waste your time, energy, emotions or money dealing with this place! My husband and I absolutely LOVE Denise and her staff at Bellbrook. Our daughter has been there for 2yrs and we actually chose her school based on her being able to go to Bellbrook. This is by far the cleanest most secure child care place we found in Lawrenceville. And we went to EVERY childcare within a 10 mile radius. Every day my daughter doesn't want to leave and her teachers treat her like their own child. Don't listen to disgruntled reviews from parents who had to pay a late fee. It's a business! and I think a $30 late fee is fair if you can't pay on time. Once last year when my husband and I got new bank cards- our automatic draft didn't go through. Denise was kind and understanding and removed the late fee. They don't charge unless there's a good reason. Our family is having to move to Marietta in the next few weeks and the hardest part of our move will be leaving Bellbrook. Go visit Bellbrook and talk with Denise for 5 minutes and you will see what a jewel this woman is. She's spent 30 years of her life pouring into this place. You can tell she truly loves it. Frankly, Bellbrook would not be Bellbrook without her. And she chooses staff who are kind and really love children. So- if you are looking for childcare in Lawrenceville- Bellbrook is hands down the best in the area! (Also- do go to decal.ga.gov as a previous complaint suggested... My children have been attending Bellbrook since September 2011 and both my husband and I are very satisfied. We have never had any issues with hidden fees and the teachers are wonderful. In fact, I find our 4 year old has been learning so much at Bellbrook; much more than his previous daycare. The teachers in my 8 month old's class are extremely warm and caring. Abusive towards infants right in broad daylight. Terrible experience while visiting this center 2x in same week just to make sure I wasn't being biased. 1st visit 6/2018 afternoon shift infant attendant/teacher ratio to child was too high and baby left in crib to cry it out. The baby looked as if he was crying all day. The manner in which she picks up infants by the arms is dangerous. This young girl seems inexperienced or doesn't care. The worst was the next visit with the older black lady who roughly wiped down the baby face then manhandled him out from the high chair and swooped the infant boy into the crib face down and walked off to attend another baby in another high chair. Then she was forcing food into the Asian infant mouth and he started crying. Poor thing. I'm sorry this place is terrible I don't care how much cheaper it is $189 a week they are. I can see why the director doesn't want cameras in the facility. Oh and I came 2nd time with my older daughter just in case I was overreacting. I want to update my review for what it is worth. Since Mrs. Denise been gone for personal reasons the daycare HAS NOT been the same. Everyday it's a problem. The teachers that I do know are very pleasant but the operation in the front is not what it was when I first attended. First.......Incident reports should not be signed off on without first verifying the severity of the child. Reasoning was, "Im sorry in the future I will make sure I check on the child before allowing the teacher to tell me what happened and not just sign incident reports when a kid falls". Perhaps if she checked on said child then maybe you won't be so suprised and say "Oh my goodness what happened to your child's face". UUUMMM....didnt you sign incident report. Child scraped their eye above the lid and below the eye then days later it turned into a black eye. Second.......Medicine should not be administered to wrong children without first verifying if the child you are giving it to is the correct child. Granted the two kids had the same name. BUT..different last name, different birthday, different age and different race so if you are the sitting director how can you allow yourself to make such a careless acts. Then tell parent... school will pay for doctor bill. Hello!! There are tremendous side effects with administering the wrong medicine to the wrong child. Parents drop their children off at a center trusting people to take care of them. If you can't do your job thoroughly perhaps you should look else where. My daughter is one and has been at this daycare for 3 months. within the first two weeks she was bit 3 times with no report EVER made. Shes now been bit over 7 times leaving marks and finding them at bath time ( still not a single report). Shes been picked up with bruises and scratches and her afternoon teacher will never accept the fact it happened at daycare and tells me it came from home...when shes not even who I drop my child off with in the morning. Ive found her things in other kids cubbies over 5 times. Ive also found other kids things in her cubby.Not one cubby labeled. Her afternoon teacher took her out in cold November weather with no jacket and another kids shirt on. When picking my daughter up she was still outside so I noticed it myself. The teacher than starts critizing my parenting saying she was packed with no jacket and no extra clothes so that is why shes outside in the cold in someone elses clothes. I went into her class room while they were outside and Behold, there are her extra clothes AND her jacket. Katrina is the assistant director and THE ONLY ONE who listens and cares to solve the problem. Shes great and I wish my child could stay with her all day, but she can not do it by herself. If I as a single mother could afford to pay another registration fee I would have taken her somewhere else long ago. Now I'm just holding onto the fact that Katrina is great. This daycare is so poorly monitored and very little state regulations are followed. I'm writing this today because my daughter was just picked up outside in 47 degree weather then the same afternoon teacher that's argued with me on more than several occasions has now once again done it after ive addressed it twice. read more

My son has been going to BellBrook for 5 years now. I had some issues at one point when my son was 2 and got a new teacher after our favorite teacher at the time left. this new teacher Ms. Fatima was not equipped to be a teacher. my son was getting bite marks and scratches every day from a kid who kept taking his food but she turned a blind eye. after i complained to ms. Denise, of course i got the defense and how my son was doing wrong. needless to say, a week later he was not in her class anymore and she was gone. i guess ms denise was wrong. after that I had no issues. my son had some great teachers like Ms. Terrika. then pre-k came and we were super excited to have Ms. Sonia become his teacher. we have known her for 3 years and she is kind and thoughtful and smart. all the kids adore her. well apparently, Ms. Denise and Ms. Rochelle ran her off by mistreating her bad. Ms. Rochelle was assistant teacher to Ms. Sonia and is not qualified to be a lead teacher yet she became one. I received my son's work back yesterday when he got picked up and there is a booklet of his writing. If you look from begging of the year all the way up to April, tons of writing almost every day was done. this is where they write their legal name. you can see improvement from the first day of school up to pretty much April. that is when Ms. Sonia left so their booklet reflects that. very little work was done. i think there are 3-4 entries in the booklet since Ms. Rochelle took over. I also did not get a second teacher parent conference even thought ms. Rochelle herself told me she would hold them. I asked Ms. Denise when will we have them, she said we will but that never happened. Then when I asked for my sons "Work Sampling System Narrative Summary Report", I was told by ms. Denise that no, I will not get one as that is not mandatory. I get that its not, but I did not have a conference nor I know how my son did second part of the year. I had a conference in Dec with Ms. Sonia but not one with ms. Rochelle. so I feel that I should get WSS Report. Ms. Denise was rude to me when I asked for it again and said nobody got it. Which this is a LIE. yes US parents talk to each other and plenty of other parents got it. I guess Ms. Rochelle and Ms. Denise are lazy to get them done for everyone. I don't think my kid learned much from Ms. Rochelle. She should not be teaching GA pre-k class until she is ready to have all of her ducks in row. To make matters worse, during the month of May, they were doing alphabet count down and had tons of activities planned for each day. So kids get hyped and excited and go to school expecting an obstacle day or a water day, but then get disappointed that never happens. ms. Rochelle told the kids that they didnt get an obstacle day because some of them were loud. so you are punished them? what kind of teacher does that? get a handle of the kids and dont punish everyone for a few that are bad. or tell us parents we need to have water shoes for a water day, so we go buy it for them but then they never get to do it because they couldn't get the water to work. that is just disappointing. so not sure if this was the center's fault or teachers but its not acceptable. I used to love this center, and would recommend it to everyone but they have dropped the ball a lot last 3-4 months and ran off a teacher with qualifications and heart to employee one who has neither. I will be looking for a different after-school program when my son starts kindergarten and I am not the only one. I know a handful of moms who refuse to bring their kids back to this center. Ms .Denise lies and refuses to do what is required by the state. Thank God a lot information is available online on bright star and I know who their consultant is. perhaps they need to check into Bellbrooks teachers before they allow them to educate our kids. read more

From a very pleased parent - I have 2 school age children than have been attending Bellbrook for about two years. I have to say that I am very impressed with this school! The teachers, staff and the director are friendly, caring and very engaged. Any issues (which have been few) have been addressed and dealt with promptly and professionally. Both of my girls enjoy the atmosphere at the school. We left another daycare center because of the director and her inability to be forthcoming and genuine with the parents and her inability to staff the center with teachers and caregivers who treated the children with respect and basic nurturing. We were very pleased to be welcomed into Bellbrook and treated as family. Not only is it the children who should be well cared for and nurtured, the parents must feel informed and involved and Bellbrook has given us that and more. The Lawrenceville location has a wonderful director, Ms. Denise, who is dedicated to making the children's experience and learning her top priority. The center also has several "extra" after-hours activities throughout the year as well that celebrates various events and holidays and this creates even more of the "family" type atmosphere that we were looking for. I have never had any issues with the care of my children and would HIGHLY recommend this center to anyone looking for a caring learning environment for their children. read more

I would NOT recommend this center to any first time mothers my daughter attended the 17 month old class room this was her first time in a daycare when I would ask her teacher how did she do she would say she cried the entire day and all that she would do is cry !! As a mother I felt that my baby was not in the environment that I wanted for her you can clearly tell some of these teachers are not certified . My daughter started getting red rashes all over her back when I would ask her teacher she would give me a attitude and say she didn't notice them before . When I would go pick up my daughter they would be out side playing in the playground when I would watch them play the teachers always had their back to them clearly not watching them i would see kids crying and the teachers wouldn't even turn around and see if they were ok ! This is one of the better childcare facilities that I've seen. I have 2 children attending (infant & pre-k). I know that they are both well taken care of because they are both very happy when I pick them up in the afternoon. My 4 year old is VERY outspoken. If she doesn't like something or someone, she lets it be known. She tells me daily how much she loves her school and her teachers. The director as well as every teacher in this building is friendly, caring and courteous. Of course this is still a business (I am a business owner as well). As with every other childcare facility, if payment is late, then there is a late fee. If you are late picking up your child, there is a fee (they need to go home to their families too). As parents, we have certain responsibilities as well. No they can't hold a school bus if you are running late. And as much as we want to do it sometimes, you can't just drop your child or children and run (I've seen parents drop off their children in the foyer, walk off and not hand them over to an adult). As for the facility, I love this place! read more

I can comment on behalf of the after-school parents and the staff that I've met at Bellbrooke. They have been nothing but kind and loving not just to my child, an 8 year old little girl, but to my entire family. As I read previous comments on this daycare that i send my child too, I have to think, wow!! I have not experienced ANYTHING like this!! This has been a clean, safe, loving, warm, inviting environment EVERYTIME I go there. From the time I visited!!! Really!!, short story: My daughter was referred by a classmate and their family and we visited Bellebrook on a Sat, no kidding. Ms Denise was there!!!. I could not believe it, here this woman was at her daycare on a Saturday afternoon,.. running a training class for the teachers. I come to the door, she welcomes me in as if she already knows me. Wow, I was so happy that she was first of all there, on a Saturday! and second, she was so loving. Ms Denise stopped her class for a brief moment and gave me a tour of her facility. (Bellbrooke Daycare) It was clean and it seemed a nice learning environment from first impression. I was able to see where my child would learn and grow with friends here. Ms Denise was kind enough to give me that tour! I was happy. I spoke with other parents at my daughters school and they were pleased with Bellbrooke and the staff. Shortly after I enrolled my daughter. Ms Denise had one last spot on the school bus, when I called for school pick up and it all fell into place for my family. My daughters LOVES her after-school program. She absolutely does not want to stay home when its a holiday from school and she gets to go to BelleBrooke. Its so cute...she does hobbies and plays with dolls and reads and just loves it...Really she does. She has made friends and sometimes she talks more about the teachers and friends at after-school more than day school. I love that and my daughter loves it. I'm sorry for those who dont!!
