This is the same hotel that even Econolodge dropped because it was so bad. They change the name regularly to avoid the consequences of the horrific reviews. We stayed there 1 night after reserving for three. The room was (no exaggeration) a danger to public. The management refused to even talk about resolution. Econolodge was very helpful but could not refund for the other nights although they did remove them from their association a month later. They really jack up the price when WSU has anything going on. We were able to stay at the Holiday Inn due to a last minute cancelation I highly recommend it. read more

This place should have trillions upon trillions of negative stars. In all honesty this motel should be bulldozed immediately. It is a health hazard and hands down the filthiest motel we have ever laid our eyes upon. The lobby stinks to God only knows what. When we opened the door of our room we smelled urine or the sewer. We checked out immediately and since there were no rooms available in the whole area we drove all the way to Spokane late at night. If we would not have been able to find a room in Spokane we would have slept in our car. We have renamed this filthy place from Cedars Inn to Sewers Inn. read more

I appreciated the lesser cost to stay there but there were quite a few conveniences given up. The smaller flat screen TV than usually seen was ok and there were plenty of movie channels offered. However, the ceiling plaster was coming off in the bathroom and painting off had walls all around the bathroom. There was a pinkish build up all around the bathtub that would've required some hard scrubbing to get off. I could only very infrequently get onto the WiFi, if at all. The one and only ice machine was out of order. The breakfast offered was limited to two types of cold cereal with milk. Nothing else as a breakfast item. There was no room cleaning for the three days we stayed there. We won't stay there again in future. read more

Stale smelly rooms, bathrooms are gross, almost want to wear flip flops in the shower, would get an overwhelming smell of cigarettes from the blankets in the middle of the night, blankets are torn open, everything is dated to a horrific point of depression.. wouldn't recommend read more

ZERO STARS. WALKED IN & IMMEDIATELY OUT AND GOT REFUND. Office smelled. Assigned a room near what looked like crack heads... windows had no screens so you couldn't even leave window open to get air... and AC looked like it would spew out mold if turned on. Sheets were rough. And looked dirty. Had hair on them and a black smudge on pillow case.. room was hot and smelled. Bathroom had ants and was definitely not cleaned. Taking a shower there would make you dirtier... after inspection- I walked over and asked for a refund and said " we don't feel comfortable or safe and the room isn't clean and want a refund". Lady Manager with short brown hair seemed unaffected or surprised at all. Her demeanor was like she knew this place is disgusting and was 100% unfazed. The website says recently renovated. That may mean new paint, but not much else. The grouting hadn't been touched by housecleaning, the caulking was cracking, the sink leaked and the room sported an automatic air freshening dispenser which continued running, despite having no air freshener. All this would have been OK, but the motel houses people for whom social services picks up the bill. Your room is literally next to someone's home, complete with cats. 2 doors down from us was a family whose young boys (12 years old at most), sat outside smoking cigarettes and joints. If you want a long term stay on the cheap (like years and years), this may be the place for you. For a comfortable night's lodging, look elsewhere. read more

The night clerk refused to do anything about it and said "All The Rooms Smell Bad" and still refused to do anything about it. This place was a complete dump! The room smelled like pee. It was BAD! The bathroom had pealing paint, a dusty hole where the fan goes, and the sink didn't run water. It was a drip that had no pressure. Had to wash my hands and face in the bathtub. The floor wasn't vacuumed. The heater was loud when it kicks off and on and kind of shakes the room . This went on every 20 or 30 minutes our entire stay. Periodically it smelled like Hawaiian breeZe glade spray but we had no idea where it came from. I just got on here to write this review and noticed a few reviews about bed bugs. So now as a precaution I am quarantining ALL of our stuff to ensure nothing from that disgusting place makes it to our bed at home! Will never stay here again. Ever. read more

BEDBUGS IN THE ROOM, got bitten a health risk and motel didn't want to refund my money!!

BEDBUGS!! Woke up in the morning with fresh bed-bug bites. Went to take a shower and there was a live one right on the back of the toilet. Mad as hell but trying to remain calm I collected it in a bottle and brought it to the front desk. The manager, "MISTY" was snotty and refused to give me my money back 'because I had stayed the whole night'. I tried arguing but to no avail (something tells me this happens a lot). People were starting to come in the office and she grabbed the bottle to hide it and shouted "we don't have bedbugs". Basically calling me a liar to my face. This was beyond rude. No words could accurately describe how terrible this experience was. I called the county health department and they said it is common for them to get complaints about bed-bugs at Cedars. read more

Yikes! So I was desperate and had to book during peak season and it was this or pay $250 a night so I selected the economic option. I pull in to park and the cops pull in behind me to deal with a disturbance where a man began yelling profanity at the cops. Some guy was taking apart his truck in the lot with tools and parts strewn about watching the goings on passively as if it was routine heavier. The room was about what I'd expected- nothing impressive. I immediately saw where housekeeping did the bare minimum seeing food particles and crumbs in the hard to get but in plain sight spaces. But the linen was clean so I counted my blessings. The room looked old as if no upgrades have been made since it was built. The walls has smoke stains and water stains and the bathroom was clean but crumbling and the paint was pealing and tiles cracked. It was apparent people were living in the rooms around me and there was late night disturbances and unsupervised children clamoring at odd hours. While it was doable I won't be returning here. BTW there is no pool that is working- if it was I'd think the cleanliness would be highly suspect. Also there was no room service so don't expect any cleaning to be done. read more

Ok, let just start out by saying that the staff was nice. But I felt like I was inconveniencing them. The day I went to check in I got there a little early. My daughter an I drove here to start her first year of college at WSU. So we thought I might be able to unload my bags then go to college to unload her things in her dorm room. But they said the room wasn't ready, I said ok I'll come back to check in. After I returned later that evening I had wifi, but when I went to wash my hands the water barely came out (no flow)more of a trickle. The following days I still had no wifi (I even went back to office)staff rebooted system , I went back to my room still no wifi. As long as you're in the office perfect wifi. Also the 2nd day I had to take the tissue box out of the holder an place it on sink counter, so that they would crefill it, I waited one day before I did it. I thought they'd do it on there own, also I that following morning. I took the covers an just place it over pillo ws upon my return to the room late that evening it was same as I left it. Also they did vacuum for I noticed some sock particles, it was still there the day I checked out. As for the room phone it was not working, so I walked back to office still inform them my wifi still wasn't working. The day I checked out I picked the phone up notice the cord fell out of the connector. So I put back in but it fell out again, the piece that hold the cord in wasn't on the cord. On the road for 24 hours, we were ready for a good nights rest and a nice hot shower before needing to leave early the next morning. We slept okay but upon waking up for that nice shower we found that the shower itself was filthy with a shoe print on the bottom and dirt on the shower wall and the water was freezing cold and could not be adjusted. This was 5:30 in the morning and the person on duty said I had to wait until the manager came in at 8. Wanting to be on the road by 6:30 we didn't get our showers. Called the manager (Debra) she wouldn't do anything about it! They said that if we got some sleep, that was all that mattered. She would not give us the owners name or phone number. There were two thread bare towels, a gross stain on the chair, blood marks on mattress side (bed bugs?), candy wrappers in bath tub drain, old tissue on floor, boogers on sheets. SO GROSS! Unpleasant experience to say the least. I choose this hotel due to the 4 star rating on Bing - they must pay to for good reviews because there is no way this hotel deserves 4 stars! They got our reservation wrong and only had a king (we needed two beds) so I suggested a a roll-away after watching the front desk clerk struggle for over 20 mins to come up with a solution - he was completing incompetent. Took over an hour to get the bed because the he got distracted and forgot. When it finally arrived it came without a pillow because they had ran out of pillows! How does a hotel run out of pillows?? Incompetence that's how! The second day we can back to the room which had not been cleaned! Had to ask for clean towels. There are a few basics for Hotels: get the reservation correct, clean the rooms and have bedding/towels & pillows.....they can't even get the basics right! read more

Smelled like smoke, torn carpet, holes punched in the walls, cracked bathroom door, rusted cracked sink, mold around shower, nail clippings on the bathroom floor and "hair" on the toilet. Not too bad...comfy for an older motel. Recent remodel but could use some better beds (one good thing is, they're comfy). Nice furniture but needs some new towels. Excellent continental breakfast with hot waffles, cereal 2 kinds, juice milk and coffee. I would stay here again as a quick option due to the good customer service and and a couple of the aforementioned things. Place is disgusting, pulled back the bed covers to see Doritos crumbs and hair on the pillows which had no pillow cases. Ohhh where to start!...Checked in for two nights and the first thing I noticed was a foul smell in the lobby. Desk clerk was rather unprofessional, but at least she was polite for the most part. The room was terrible. "Newly remodeled" is obviously a fairly loose term considering paint was coming off the walls, the ceiling had old stains from leaks and the tile and caulking in the bathroom was all falling apart. Throughout my stay the parking lot constantly had really shady looking people lurking around. I noticed that people seemed to be living there as there were literally people having barbeques and drinking in the parking lot. Both nights the bar next door was extremely loud with music and drunk people yelling and arguing outside until well after 2am. All and all the experience was just unpleasant. The kicker came on the morning I was to check out as I noticed that my card was ran a second time, once at check in, once that morning. Upon noticing I was double charged I immediately went to the office where a polite clerk could not tell me anything because she was brand new and left all alone. She ensured me the manager was due in any minute. (This was 9:30am on a Monday morning). I waited an hour and went back to see if the manager had showed up yet, I was told then that the manager "wasn't feeling good" and would not be in. So she took my info and ensured me the manager would call me the following day. This place was run down and dirty and honestly I did not really feel too safe their either. Honestly I'm shocked our car was still there when we woke up. First and last time I will ever stay there. Avoid at all costs. read more

MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED. Stayed 3 nights in this place. Was in town for a dog show and there was very limited selection for places to stay so this is what we were stuck with for our last minute stay. We arrived at 11 am and tried to check in. We were told that check in was not until 2 pm. So we went and killed time until it was finally check in and the 2 yr old in tow desperately needed a nap and the dog needed out of the car and heat. We check in and are told we could put our things in our room but we will have to leave and wait another hour because the housekeeping did not get the linens done for our room. We walk in and they had left the dirty blankets and comforters in the room from the last guests and planned to only put fresh sheets on the bed. That in itself made our skin crawl. The bathroom was not cleaned well and the floor was horribly dirty. Thankfully the A/C worked for the majority of the stay but noticed it would stop working and would have to be turned off then back on. You could definitely tell that the room used to be a smoking room as the whole thing smelt of stale cigarettes(funny because they threaten a $30/hour charge for all hours the room was used if you smoke in it). There is a lot of people taking up permanent residency in this motel as well. So after waiting our extra hour we came back to the room and still no linen. Oh and the waterproof pad on the dingy mattress had burn holes in it and the head board constantly smacked the wall with every roll and move because it was not even attached to the bed. We had to wait until 5 PM to get linens. We got a fresh set of sheets towels and blankets and had them take all the used linens out of our room. The toilet did not work well you had to hold the handle down until all the water completely emptied or it would not flush. The mini fridge froze every item we put in it even on the lowest setting you could use. The tv is extremely old and did not work properly which was a bummer because we were room bound for a good portion of our stay due to rain. The nights were horrible because the walls are paper thin and you hear everything. The people upstairs doing drugs and pacing back and fourth for hours. Everytime the room next to us opened their door it sounded as if someone was attempting to break into our room so you would constantly snap awake. The a/c is very loud but thank god it operated because those rooms are extremely muggy. The staff is low class and not helpful at all. Oh and just a tip our hot and cold water were opposite on the shower and the faucet. Anyway I think everyone gets the picture. read more

This was... not the best choice for the area. Visit began with being greeted by staff we couldn't tell were staff! The man outside smoking, apparently, was the lead employee on shift. The woman behind the desk was slow and nearly incompetent, despite being, as we learned later, manager. Our cards quit working after an hour, and yes, we *did* keep them away from our phones and even debit cards to ensure the magnetic code wasn't disrupted. The room itself... wow. Crumbs on the first bed, lots of food stains. Beds were made but the linens hadn't been exchanged. Pillows were lumpy and old, the sink had three or four freshly-puttied holes that were still sticky to the touch, the faucet didn't fit on the sink and the bathroom... the worst part. Plastered hole in the bathroom door, the knob had just been replaced, was ill-fitting, and the lock was... on the outside? How does that work?! Missing tiles, mold on the ceiling, and part of the ceiling over the shower was just boarded over. The fan didn't even work, just made a feeble sound when running and moved no air. The shower head is something my grandparents would have thrown out, water pressure and temperature fluctuated wildly and unpredictably between freezing and literally scalding, and water all around tasted weirdly bad. The only good things that can be said of the room was that our A/C unit worked and worked fairly well, we had a working fridge(which we stocked with bottled water from the nearby Dollar Store) and microwave, and for what they were, the beds were fairly comfortable in the end. Continental "Breakfast". Oh my god. Bulk stale offbrand raisin bran and corn flakes. Milk on ice. Weak coffee, tea, semi-warm and watered-down orange juice and apple juice in tiny styrafoam cups. Oh, and an ancient waffle maker. Ancient. An old, abused cast-iron flip-over model. When my roommate tried to use it, the already-broken batter dispenser snapped completely, pouring a pint of batter across the counter, and what made it onto the iron was cooked very improperly, nigh-inedible. When an employee came out to clean it up while I waited, I was surprised at how quickly he moved. Then, I found out why. While I waited right there, he finished cleaning and then made a waffle. 'Wow, that's nice', I thought. Except it wasn't for me, but for himself. I left in anger when he made a second waffle, and then started shutting down 'breakfast'. We went to the Sharis up the hill and had a real breakfast. To gloss over the rest, the pool was pretty small and a little dirty, and yes, as another reviewer claimed, there are indeed some very iffy folk living in a few rooms. Finally, I can't place 100% of the problems squarely on the staff and management. Being situated where they are, they get a lot of... less than savory customers. The security lock on our door was missing when we checked in, but staff explained that so many drunk residents forget they're there and rip them out throwing their doors open, that they only fix them on request. Much of the rest of the damage is caused by similar people and for similar reasons. They do do what they can(sometimes) to keep up with the damage, it just isn't nearly enough. Housekeeping, as well, was a saving grace. The two ladies were wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests, although their work is slowed by the sheer amount of things each room needs done every day. All in all, poor staff, poor location, and poor customers make this a motel to avoid. read more

I saw first hand the lack of management of the business. I am writing this review as a customer, the only way you can work at the cedars inn is to live on site and pay the going rent price... My room I was given when I moved in was so trashed it took me 8 hours to clean and never was able to get rid of the smell. I was told I could not use the hotel vacuums and cleaning supply's to clean my own room I was paying for. The bath room needed new grout and leaked water to the room directly below mine. The rest of the staff was sketchy and within a month had a hole new crew working in every department. The next month the same thing happened. Also as a paying customer I was told I could not eat the complimentary free continental breakfast which really was waffle batter you poured your self from a used plastic milk container and maybe cereal if you where lucky to come in on the right day. Most of the A/Cs have serious issues. It was really hard to get a good nights of sleep with all the noise from the bars and the rest of the hotel. This hotel attracts a lot of shady characters. you've been warned! read more
