Beautiful large room, beautiful property, great breakfast. The most comfortable mattress we have slept on away from home. Debby was very attentive and easy going. A nice employee named Hayley (sp) was there during our stay and she was very helpful. We checked in earlier than we planned to due to arriving in Tulsa earlier than expected from OKC. She was apologetic about not having a cheese plate or fudge ready. I didn't even know these things existed with the room, so apology accepted! Haha. She took us on a tour of the inn and did a great job of both detailing the history/current status and the amenities we had access to. Not too much later, she brought us the aforementioned cheese and fudge. Score! She also took care to note food allergies since they serve breakfast. I have none but my boyfriend is allergic to the Earth, so that's nice. We stayed in the Sage while we were there (Thursday night and Friday night, so two different prices). It's the only room that's not directly inside of the inn, so that was neat. It almost felt like a little cabin! It's attached but the entrance to it is outside while the other rooms are inside. It's a nice simple room. The bed is comfortable but I wouldn't rave about it. The only small downside is that this room doesn't have its own thermostat because it shares one with the Willow, the room it's attached to. Hayley set it for us to a very cool temp since it was hot out. It kept the room very cold. But we were also out adventuring most of the time. If we weren't, then we would just burrow under the blankets in bed. So no big deal, but I'm sure there are more picky people out there. Every morning, breakfast is served in the dining room at 9am. It feels a little awkward almost since the inn is so small and the breakfast is guests only. They're cooking just for you! The first morning, it was only us there. There was fruit, pancakes, and a plate of bacon/sausage/eggs. It was good stuff. Oddly good bacon. Second morning there was fruit, waffles, and breakfast potatoes/fritatas/bacon. The second was definitely the best. My boyfriend hates eggs; they did something to his family, I think. So they double downed on his bacon. Lucky dog. But the fritatas were great, so his loss. Random notes: - The TVs have a lot of channels but the TVs are tiny; maybe that's a hint to spend time with your travel partner. - ^ Speaking of which, the second floor has a drawer of toiletries that includes toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner/soap, deodorant, and *ahem* condoms ~an assortment~. Some other stuff, too. - The gated exit you use during the day is closed at some point in the evening. You'll drive out the entrance and return through the entrance using the code on your room key during later outings.

I am a well-seasoned traveler, and I don't give stars freely. But....Flamingo Springs Trailer…read moreResort with its kitschy, retro travel trailers set around a lovely pool with all sorts of fun things to keep you entertained has definitely earned theirs. Situated in the Ozarks of NW Arkansas, down a lovely country lane just south of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, FSTR provides a quiet place in the country to sit by the pool, wander the forest near the resort, or party and play with your adult friends (they are 21 and up, except on special kid-friendly dates.) As the sign says, there's no wi-fi, so talk to each other. We did - making quick friends with a couple of girlfriends from Hot Springs and a young couple from Oklahoma. We took our 4WD and toured some of the dirt roads and trails just south of FSTR, enjoying a brief visit to a very busy Devil's Den State Park. If you've forgotten something, they probably have it. Seriously, there's everything: Atari, VHS player with a good movie collection, a jukebox, matches, new toothbrushes, shampoo/conditioner, a pizza cooker, knives, forks, etc...AND the kitchen sink!! This silly, but lovely, trailer hood includes trailers with a theme to fit anyone's fancy. These include a "Friends" themed Airstream, a rock-n-roll themed Shasta (my abode for the weekend,) Candy Cane Lane (an Airstream that definitely has the perfect-over-the-top Christmas decorations inside and out!) and others that provide the perfect mix of whimsy, community and comfort. Speaking of comfort, the only thing that kept Zack and Laura (the outrageously creative and talented proprietors of this crazy place) from getting that 5th Star was the mattress in my "room." Although, the thinner mattress is likely retro-correct, as I know these cute trailers weren't known for true comfort, just convenience, my nearly 50-year-old body needs a bit more cushion to be truly comfortable while sleeping. Upgrading to a slightly better quality mattress would have gotten them a higher score on the comfort scale. Cell Service: Spotty, But you wont care. Wi-Fi: None, I hope they NEVER add it. Can you find it: Yes, provided you use a better app than the older, never been updated, GPS in our Jeep. Good Thing: Kitschy Decor, Clean campers and bathrooms. Bad Thing: Mattresses. Favorite Thing: Instant sense of community. Final Thoughts: Visit FSTR in NWA. Pretty awesome.

(The…read morenudge to proceed with all the pressure of your first dance at prom came from my Yelp comrade, Eddie S.) Triumphantly galloping in as the most epic, intriguing magnificent setting which I have been honored to tiptoe across the threshold of in NWA to date & ascertain shall never be surpassed.... The front part of my current domicile is undergoing demolition/resurrection & I am always lookimg for kitsch, captivating lodging & knowing my genre well; rewound to this site at least 200 times knowing it is a proverbial absolute within my bizarre wheelhouse!!!! I went to work full of as much glee as Rumplestiltskin beholding his royal baby from fruition of straw spun to gold expedition & enticed all the OB nurses with pics in joining my dreamy, campy adventure & many retro photo ops.., Fellow much admired nurse advised me to peruse their website as she felt the young wife had lost her husband to cancer just a few moths prior.... Exit was quick & I cried all the way to my car as I could not diminish waves of stomach surging, heart angst for her loss & resurgence of how precious life should be the ever pervasive glisten & glow within our souls, our step, our genuine speak & overextended deed & reciprocal love ... Hesitation sat heavy in my chest, my throat & Pepcid lined stomach before I called & was enraptured with joy when the sweet Laura returned my call & I booked the Shasta camper right away!!! Dumbfounded & stunned I asked, "How are you doing ?" Immediately wishing I could retract & she said, "I guess you follow our site & well you know I am doing the best I can running this but, I have a lot great support from Friends and Family, they are so wonderful.." I just stuttered & apologized as I have no words for a woman of this caliber, demeanor & honest fortitude..., Packed up all the girly accoutrements such as s'mores, grill stuff, libations, sunscreen & bikinis & Peyton I began our journey!!! Enamored my the rambling greenery, a abundant & rogue wildlife & upon final arrival the site spoke boldly of embodiment & fulfillment of a dream with ounce by ounce lovely precision! Highly animated & individually themed retro airstreams & campers surrounded a cute round pool with charcoal grills & lawn furniture & purple gnomes reminiscent of "Raising Arizona" or your a Hollywood set of a 60's summer getaway... Invention of a dreamscape surrounded in ice cream floaties, VCR tapes of the "Lost Boys" & "Sixteen Candles" with a jukebox that intermittently plays Elvis, "Dirty Dancing" soundtrack & board games from Yahtzee to Hungry Hippos.... We made a memory & it was intricately etched out, dreamt & wished for by these Angels who loved believed & never hesitated in following through despite Amy obstacles or opposition. Terriyaki burgers over charcoal grill, s'mores over campfire, slumber party in our dreamsicke orange camper with White snake cassette tapes.... Nothing & I do mean nothing will ever take this away because the beauty of a vision fulfilled by service savvy, salt of our earth, loving people who respect, love & adore each other gleams in every facet of each detail of what I consider another familial home! Godspeed & love with all my being to the beautiful Laura, her adoring children & the man who beams from above!!! This place is your next summer stop off & cell phone service is fondly not an option due to being past the grid mark and agar not!!!
