The crowd was so friendly too, looks like I'm not the only one that comes independently. I was sampled the regular moonshine, peach, amaretto and the peanut butter. Holy crap! All of them were so delicious. Not too sweet, not too alcoholic-ly. It was the perfect amount to get you buzzed. I ended up going home with the original and peach... but man if I lived here, I would get all the flavors. I can't wait to share my mason jars with my boyfriend! I recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're going to come here alone. The staff makes you feel, so not alone. Their moonshine is a little bit on the pricey side, but it's a huge mason jar and the quality is top notch. They were so nice to even bag it up for me, get it prepared to bring it back home! They taught us all about their products and we thoroughly enjoyed what we tasted. The winner for our group were the coffee-flavored moonshine, the amaretto flavored, and the peach. Enjoyed but not purchased was the apple one, the name of which escapes me. It tasted like the liquid part of an apple pie and finished tasting like a cinnamon broom from christmastime. Pricing is on their website, and they currently have an active Groupon for their tours.   It's located in West Greenville and very close to downtown. There's plenty of parking. On one side of the interior, there's the bar/lounge area. There's couch-like seating, tables, and the bar. There's also an area for merch. I highly recommend purchasing from them versus your local liquor store, as the prices were cheaper there than anywhere else I've found them being sold.   The other side is the distillery, which is the side you step into for the tour. You start the tour with a cocktail of choices within the options they give you. I started with an old-fashioned, and it was good. Definitely carried a bang with it; a drink for the grown and experienced. It was pretty cool to learn about the distilling process, but it was even cooler to learn about the local and regional ties that made this South Carolina alcohol brand unique. It's informative, and the tour guide is engaging.   Towards the end of the tour, samples are provided of their vodka, which is strong but light tasting and very smooth; their whiskey, which was a bit strong for me but did carry a warm flavor; their bourbon, which was my favorite because it's very smooth and it carries a lot of good notes; their gin, which does have some floral and earthy type notes, and it's really cool how they make it; and another absolute favorite of mine is their Carolina cream. Their Carolina cream is so good. It is seriously delicious! I highly recommend it.   Again, next time I'm in the area and I'm looking for something to do, this will be my go-to place. It was fun, I learned some new things, I enjoyed their alcohol, and it's really neat to learn about something amazingly local, South Carolina.

Moonshine prepared the old school way with business savvy. Says they sold their first batch and are growing based on demand. Main room has three pot stills with thumpers, they're working on a fourth still. HM is "proof" that with determination and know how, it's possible to make a go of it. They are a 100 % grain to glass small batch gin and whiskey distillery. They do tastings for only 1.00 each,flights as well as hand crafted cocktails. We tried their Barrel Reserve Gin matured in casks for at least 1 yr,Single Malt Whiskey and their Rye Whiskey. They do sell bottles to go but we're out of the Rye since it is a limited release only available at the distillery. Their spirits are good in taste and are worth a visit.

Service was friendly and knowledgeable and even gave ideas for drinks that could be made at home with products. We tried the pineapple and strawberry moonshine and both were good. Husband's favorite was the peach vodka and while I'm not a vodka person normally, this was fantastic and I will drink it! I enjoyed the honey whiskey!! This…read morewas actually the third stop of the day after a big lunch at Red Ginger, and even though I wasn't planning on drinking much, the diverse selection here completely pulled me in. Iris was the highlight of our visit. She not only served us but also made us feel at home and gave us such a rich history of the distillery. The owners have a foraging background, and all of the herbs used come straight from North Carolina. Even the water here is top-notch. She shared that they had just recently reopened after Tropical Storm Helene last year, which made the experience feel even more special. I started with a flight plus whiskey and tried the Bitter Tooth (sweet and smooth), the Appalachian Fernet, and the Rustic Nocino. The whiskey rye was impressively smooth. I loved the flight so much that I had to order an Amaro Sour, which turned out to be an absolute delight. What's really nice too is that this place is kid-friendly, so it feels very welcoming. We stopped in to pick up some beers to go while visiting family in the area. Great selection of…read morelocal beers both tap and a huge variety of beers to-go, both local and some beers from farther away (spotted some Lakefront Brewing from our old stomping grounds in Wisconsin!). The lady working was incredibly kind and helpful, and we had a nice chat with her while making our selections. This place is definitely our new go-to for beers to-go when we're visiting our family in Brevard. Hopefully next time we'll have more time and stay to enjoy a beer there in the taproom or on their patio.
