A great home town cafe serving breakfasts the way you might remember. Cedar Inn is a staple meeting place for folks in Devils lake, as well as visitors to the Lake Region. Almost everything is made on site and you have to try their Cedar Sausage which is made in their kitchen from local sources...it is fantastic! We've only be there for breakfast, but they get it right! Be waned, if you order only one pancake, it will fill the entire plate! Our servers were always friendly and checked back to see if we needed anything. You really can't go wrong stopping there for breakfast. read more

This is my go to when I'm in Devils Lake and I need a quick bite to eat. I fly in and out of Devils Lake often and I usefully stop here before I leave or just after I land. I usually get something from the specials menu on the wall but they have a full menu of breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. read more

Upfront, I must mention Ms. January was awesome in customer service. She checked on us as needed and brought us out great plates. We only wanted Coffee and water with our meals and Ms. January ensured we knew that orange juice or tomato juice came with our meal. Nice breakfast spot. They have daily specials on board. Bacon was nice and crispy. Pancakes were big and fluffy.

Decent classic greasy spoon breakfast in Devil's Lake. Devil's Lake has a lot of these options oddly enough but only two sports bars? Anyway. I ordered a "hash brown omelet" if that makes sense and my partner ordered pancakes as he always does. The hash brown thing I ordered was awesome! Cedar Inn has catered food for us for several years. Our guest list has been up to 125 people. They served Steaks, baked potatoes, dinner rolls and FABULOUS COLESLAW!! Average diner, ok food and service. We travel all over the country and sometimes small towns. I was hopeful with the reviews we may have found a nice local place. I ordered the steak and it was dry and tough. It was served with frozen or canned corn. My salad was shredded iceberg lettuce. My co worker said he wouldn't have even eaten my salad. I had the bean and ham soup and it was good. My co worker had a burger and said it was fine. The servers stood in the corner chatting the entire time, however they were friendly. Growing up around this area and eating here numerous occasions a year. This was my first time having breakfast in well over a year. I and my family had ordered a different item from the menu. The waitress was courteous, professional and fast. The food came out reasonably quick with no issues. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting, so after I devoured my Denver Surprise (best hashbrowns) sitting and finishing my coffee was nice. Overall, great meal. read more

Five stars are well deserved. We Yelped for a lunch place as we were passing through town. Service friendly and prompt. Menu and food served right on for our appetites. Finished without room for the hard pack ice cream we had spotted on entry. We'll stop again on our way home. read more
