Kind of a bummer to write this as we've been 4 years in a row to get our Christmas tree. Last year was wonderful and the people there were super friendly and seemed to be happy to be there and just proud to work at the facility. This year, no one helped us. The shorter heavyset young man didn't say a word to me as we asked for help with the tree. No communication with me whatsoever. I walked up to him and asked if we could get this specific tree out of the lineup and he just waddled around behind me and his buddy/helper just picked it up and left. He then handed me the ticket and said nothing. I pull the car around and he then told me to get out and walk across the lot to go pay; why didn't you say that when we were all standing next to the place where I was supposed to go to pay?? You handed me the ticket? Maybe i'm asking too much from a business during the holidays and maybe i'm a more cheery than normal individual but I asked my wife if she felt off and she said the same thing.... no body seemed to care about anything other than sitting around playing on their phone and dipping. I hate it because last year my wife gave birth to our first child and it was our first year to go and we had a blast the people there were all around super nice and helpful and just strike up a conversation with you about anything...and this year was like the complete opposite. not sure if we will continue this as our yearly tradition but we'll see. read more

Very disappointing experience at Cedar Hill Farms. I decided to take my kids out for a fun day, but it ended quickly. We got there, took the hayride, and spent about 10-15 minutes at the playground before the kids got hungry. So we went to the food shack and placed our order at 1:26 p.m. We sat down to wait, and after some time passed, I went to the counter to check on our order four different times. One of the young ladies told me they would bring the food out to us, but that never happened. By 2:00 p.m., still no food. What made it worse is that I watched other families who ordered after me, some with larger parties of 5-6 people, receive their food, eat, and leave while my kids and I were still waiting. At that point, I asked for a refund. The man at the front was apologetic but said he didn't know what was going on. He refunded my money, and I asked to speak with the manager--turns out, it was the same person. He said it was a "printing error" and a "mistake," but no one ever checked or followed up with me during that entire wait. I wasted money, time, and gas driving out there, and my kids didn't even get to enjoy anything because of the poor service. I will not be back. I'll drive until I'm tired before I let anyone play with me or my kids' time like that again. read more

It was a total joke!! Not worth the time to go. Us adults were miserable the whole time... we drove over 2 hours and the website said it was free to see the light show we ended having to pay and the train ride wasn't an actual train and it lasted maybe 8 minutes after paying $200 to ride. I was mad the rest of the only trip. The lady was rude and ugly to us and they should have had people there to show you where to go. My husband made a reservation for Valentine's Day. They had a special 4 course menu, with a drink. My husband had a 12oz steak and I had marinated chicken tenders (we also had a shared appetizer, soup + salad + desert & drinks.) The food was soo delicious. Best grilled chicken I think I have had. The steak was also good. It did not disappoint. The service was good and our waitress was very friendly. Our food was served timely. We were there for about an hour. We had City Hall cheesecake for desert. That was also very good. We had been to Cedar Hill Farm once before with some friends. It was a fun time with their kids with feeding the animals and a tractor ride. Overall it is a great visit no matter what you have planned. This review is just for the Easter Egg Hunt and Easter festivities. The process for the Easter Egg hunt is you pay $3 for a dozen eggs. $3 additional for each additional dozen. Basically there is no hunt. They take you out to the peach orchard where they have taken LARGE crates of plastic eggs with a single piece of cheap candy and just dump the whole crate of eggs in a pile. They claim there are also toys in the plastic eggs but with 2 dozen eggs we only got the candy. There is no actual hunting involved as they are just mostly laying there in a huge pile. We won't be participating in the future. They don't even bother to spread them around. There was also supposed to be baby chicks and ducks on site but we looked and couldn't find them in either the hatchery or show barn. *shrug We have visited the farm on several occasions and generally have had a good time. The pumpkin patch in season is pretty nice. They could use a good cleanup in the main entry barn where you buy tickets. When we were there it was mostly empty except for some moldy looking gourds stacked in the back. read more

Cedar Hill Farm was a wonderful choice for our fall school field trip. The students, teachers and parents had a wonderful time experiencing exciting things on a real working farm. The farm staff were friendly and always smiling which made the ambience inviting!!! Food options were available to purchase on site and parking was very, very accessible. $20 a person to get in, and our poor kids got a 2 minute "hayride" and a quick run through the corn maze. Pretty much everything else was closed. Only open on weekends and "special occasions". Outstanding all the way around! First, I want to think Cedar Hill Farm's restaurant staff for going above and beyond to service my guests and myself. For what ever reason, we showed up just after 3:00PM to realize they were not yet opened for the day. When I called for hours of operation, a young lady answered and advised me that they were not open yet. So We left. We pulled out and headed back home.Before I reached Hwy 51 to head home, my phone rang. It was the young lady at Cedar Hill Farm's inviting us to come back to the restaurant; that she and the cook's would serve us early if we came back. Great place to get a Christmas tree. It was our first "cut your own". Word to the wise their busiest days are the weekend of Thanksgiving. **UPDATE** 4 star down to a 2 star 19 days after purchase Our tree looks pretty bad. Ornaments just fall from the weak branches. Super dry and needles needing to be vacuumed off the floor every day . Not happy about an $80 tree letting us down this badly. Yes we have kept water in the base. We have also only turned on our lights from dinner to bed time. We have even kept our thermostat at 68 degrees or below. And it is not in a window getting direct sunlight either. Contemplating getting a new tree from a different place. Oh and it never gave off that "Christmas Tree" smell either. read more

Our waitress was very sweet, but not very attentive, one person got up twice to refill his tea glass! After the last plate had been brought out, some guy came and apologized for the wait and gave us a couple bowls of pickles!! Really!! I had high hopes coming here because I have heard it's a really cool farm to visit in the fall. But upon arriving, I was shocked to find out it was $15 per person to enter. This made us believe that there were some super cool things inside the farm that would be worth $15, but this was not the case. There was nothing included in the admission: no free pumpkin, no free snack/drink, anything. There was a small petting zoo which I admit was cute, but then we had to walk so far to try and find the pumpkin patch. Once we picked out our pumpkins, we had to do a small hike back to the trailer to take us to the front. There was a small shop or two, a playground, a pirate ship... things kids would enjoy, but as adults I felt like there wasn't anything for us to do. We spent most of the time trying to navigate to get to the pumpkin patch because there was very minimal signage and the map online was hard to follow. This is a great country cooking/southern food restaurant on Cedar Hill Farm. It's open Friday and Saturdays from 5-9 and during special events. The menu is small, but everything is fresh and made from scratch. There are three sizes of catfish dinners, 2 sizes of ribeyes, a chicken sandwich and hamburger. The catfish is good! You can bring your own bottle and the atmosphere is country casual. It's a great place to eat if you plan a visit to the farm. The kids can play outside on the farm and in the play area before dinner. They also cater and can host large parties. The restaurant is full service and the snack bar is counter service. My family and I went to pick out a Christmas tree from CHF and while the trip began as a pleasant experience it quickly turned into disappointment. We picked out our tree and our attendant took it to get it wrapped. He wrote out our ticket and sent me to a different section of the farm to pay for the tree. When I got back to pick up the tree they "couldn't find it". My husband and I swear it was leaned against the back of a building, but we didn't have proof. The attendants spent the next 30 minutes looking for the lost tree. One came back and told us they couldn't find it and that we were welcome to pick out another tree of equal value. While I appreciate the gesture, the next best tree doesn't cut it compared to the original tree we picked out. Not only did they lose our tree and wasted an additional hour of our time, we witnessed another car full of people even more upset than we were for losing their tree as well. Spend your money elsewhere. Worst pumpkin patch experience we've ever had. I have NEVER been to a pumpkin patch where you have to pay for the pumpkin you pick out of the patch and it not be included in the admission price. They fail to inform you that ONLY the children get a pumpkin the size of an orange. Which makes no sense since the adults cost more than the kids' admission. We were unaware of this since we have never been to a pumpkin patch where you have to purchase the pumpkins you get from the patch, so as we were walking out one of the younger girls working was very hateful to us. She was rude and unprofessional. She referred to me and another adult friend as "girl friend" and the other adults working with her didn't intervene and explain in a nice, professional manner either. We will not be back, and will not recommend this place to anyone else. We drove almost an hour and a half to come here when we have at least 4 local patches near us, and paid a higher price than the ones local to us to not even get a pumpkin. The kids will enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides and large play areas, not to mention the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze every fall. There's also a fishing pond, volleyball nets, and paintball fields. The Zombie paintball is a joke. Nothing like the description online. Save your money. The fire pit was nice although after we hauled all of our things to our spot we didn't have a fire going and no wood to even attempt to do it on our own. We had to walk all the way back to the front to ask someone. While we waited we went on the trail of terror. Without a fast pass this would have been well over an hour wait. This attraction was more what I expected and our group enjoyed it. Over all it was ok, the zombie paintball was a let down for the entire group and waiting on the fire to get started was a headache but the trail of terror was fun. We went there for the first time for the Easter activities and were sorely disappointed. First the website listed several things that my little one was so excited about (pony rides, egg hunt prizes,baby chicks and ducks, fun restaurant) and were not available with no apology from the staff. On the website it listed the different dining options and menus, but when we arrived at lunchtime we were not only informed that they were only serving a very paltry breakfast but that they could only seat us upstairs, when I pointed out that I am disabled and walk with a crutch she just shrugged and said that's all they have. The snack bar had cotton candy, popcorn and chips. Pitiful. The eggs were mostly empty but if they had something in it, it was a piece of cheap gross candy. Basically we paid almost $60 for us to spend 45 min. picking up a few eggs, looking at some pitiful animals and going down a slide. Drove here from Memphis so little one could do at least one egg hunt since they are scarce this year, but she left crying. None of the staff seemed to know what was going on and the map was useless as it was labeled for the Halloween activities. Do not waste your time or money at this event. Maybe the Halloween stuff is better but I won't take the chance. Also, nobody was wearing a mask. I know mandate was lifted in Miss. but private businesses can require them and they did not. It was like "what pandemic?" walking around. Felt very unsafe and irresponsible on the part of the owners. Upset we wasted the money,time and gas on this. Also, one of the least handicapped accessible places I have been with little concern for adaptation. Such a shame. read more
