Ok loving this park - dogs allowed to go on the run and some nice hills for me to run! They had an archery area there and I'm not sure if it's still there but I still have my bow! This is one of the biggest family-oriented parks in the state! If you want to play any sport including archery, grab a spot here early because it's a popular place to hangout for barbecues, recreational activities, and more. If you're up for a 1.5 hour walk or shorter bike ride to Jones Beach, park near field 4 or 6. Parking can be a challenge even with so many lots because it seems to be open to the public and free for all to join in on the fun! read more

Cedar creek park has two football fields, two lacrosse fields, and two soccer fields. One of each field is combined into one field. There's a convenient parking lot right outside the fencing at the front of the field. read more

This is a great park that has it all. Ball fields, playgrounds and it butts up to a biking trail that takes you all the way into Jones Beach along Wantagh Parkway. It's a little hidden but a great place to hang out for the day. read more

Went her because I read there were various hiking trails of varying levels. Unfortunately no real " hiking trails" were found. We walked on the concrete pathway that runs parallel to the Wantagh parkway. But it clearly was not a hiking trail but a walkway for bikes and walkers. It does go all the way down to Jones Beach, which is cool. The noise of the cars traveling on Wantagh pkwy is hardly a quiet, nature walk however. The park itself , from what I saw, would be nice if you want to play tennis, rollerblade, and there is a doggy park. Just don't go if you really want a hiking trail.(unless we somehow just missed the hiking Trail, and if so, there is not adequate signage.) read more

For a nassau county resident this is a solid four star park, but if I had to pay the nonresident parking fee (a steep $10, but it's only charged weekends and holidays from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day) I would probably knock a star off. There's something for everyone at this park, the list includes: bicycle/rollerblade/jogging trail to Jones Beach and it's being extended, baseball fields, two multipurpose turf fields, handball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, separate small and large dog runs, separate age group playgrounds, archery, tether cars, an aerodome with two runways, unreserved picnic sites with grills, and three reservable pavilions. The one star I knocked off is for the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They're basically always dirty. read more

Cedar Creek Park is one of my favorite places to roller blade on Long Island. The path is mostly flat (the only incline/decline is when you're approaching the bridges), and the views of the water and Jones Beach Theater are stunning. I usually roller blade from Cedar Creek Park down to the theater and back, for a total of 10 miles round trip (you can continue passed the theater down Ocean Parkway for another 3 miles if you're up for the challenge!) The downside is the narrowness of the path. If you're biking or rollerblading with a friend or group, you need to stay one-behind-the-other otherwise you risk crossing into oncoming traffic. I recommend visiting early in the morning if you don't want to deal with many people, as it does get crowded during peak weekend afternoon times. After you workout, head a few miles down the road to Massapequa and grab lunch, there's so many restaurants to choose from there! read more

Beautiful, spacious park on the south shore of Long island. I came here last night for a movie under the stars with my kids. It was a beautiful night and I was glad to see plenty of grassy area to sit and watch the movie with my kids. We moved to Seaford over 2 years ago and hit up all the better known parks/dog runs. At one unnamed (but very popular) park, we literally saw a dog run out of the double gate and was never heard from again. At a different park our dog got kennel cough. We were about to give up on finding the perfect park until we decided to give CCP a try (we passed it almost every day but for some reason didn't expect much from it). Well, don't judge a book or a park by its cover because this place has it all! Trails, walking paths, picnic areas, play things for kids, and some kind of sciency space building where I'm not sure what goes on but someday I'm going to get to the bottom of it... And who could forget the dog run? There's a separate section for small pups but our 85 pound pooch has his fun in the extra large run. It's always well kept and we've never seen more than 5 dogs there at a time. There are a ton of balls and play toys, free doodoo bags, and even a working water fountain (which is apparently rare). I highly recommend taking your doggo here and then taking a walk to one of the play areas or hiking trails. read more

The park is very cute. There are 4 sections each fenced off. I like that it was clean and not packed. Although I have heard it can get packed. They have a sandbox in the back. Sprinklers in the summer. A kids zipline, kiddie house, and plenty of slides. The kids were entertained well. The bathroom was a little skeevy. Someone left their bloody tissue on the sink. There was pee all over the stall floors. So it could have been kept cleaner. read more

Here is the perfect place to park for bikers who want a great path to ride. It is connected next to the Jones Beach bikeway that goes along the Wantagh Parkway to Jones Beach. The bike path is separated from the car traffic and goes over three bridges from the park to the beach. If you want, you can continue to ride the boardwalk (only off season) or ride to the next beach over at Tobay Beach. I like how there is a lot of parking, but it can be a bit more crowded during warmer months. There are many great views of the water throughout that path. The park also has baseball fields I've seen some people use to play baseball. It's in a great location and nice place for families to go to. read more

Love this park!!! This park offers multiple playgrounds, a dog park, picnic areas, a baseball field, tennis courts and much more!! There is a great path to Jones Beach that starts at this park which is 4.5 miles long, I love biking running and rollerblading along this path when the weather is nice. There are great hills for sledding in the winter and running in the summer!! This is the best park in the local area and I frequent it often!!!! Be sure to check it out!!! read more

This is a great park! This is why you pay all this ridiculous money to live here. The affect of the park encourages you to be active. I think this was voted one of the best playgrounds on the Island. The set up is great. the parking is set up in fields along the loop of the park. Tennis and handball courts along with a spot to go skating and BBQ spots. My main interest is this park seems to be the entry point to ride the trails to Jones Beach. read more

I've only been to the dog park, but I do want to check out the surrounding areas. The only problem is if I'm going to drive that far and be outside...I feel like I should bring my dog with me...this county is sooo not friendly to dogs! The dog run is basically a big sandy area for dogs to enjoy digging holes in and running around. It isn't too fancy, but there are watering areas and places for doggy poop bags and tons of left behind tennis balls so you basically don't have to bring anything with you. All the dog owners are very friendly and so are their dogs, even the big dogs. Nobody uses the small dog area, but if you are worried about your small dog, bigger dogs tend to hang out in the early morning and around 1 pm. The Bean is getting used to all of her new friends and loves to chase her tennis ball here. Especially when it's nice and covered in sand. There is a $10 parking fee on weekends for non-Nassau county residents!! :P read more

First time at this park and even though I was bummed by the $10 fee, I didn't take any stars from my review. We decided to take our bikes on the trail that leads to Jones Beach. It's a nice easy ride. I did wish there was a little more shade. Just a heads up that if it's a hot day, there's no relief on the bike trail. The next time I decide to take the bike trail, I would park at Jones Beach and then go in reverse since I have a Empire Pass. Other than that, nice park, and nice easy bike trail. read more

Love this park. I have been coming to this place ever since I was a little kid. I used to sled down hills during the winter time here. Also, I learned how to ride a bike here. So basically, it's chock full of my childhood memories. I remember before they re-did the playground, there used to be a concrete playing area filled with giant animal statues. I don't know if too many other remember this, but it was great. All in all, It's a really clean and updated park. Nowadays I go on my weekly runs here. There's plenty of space and hills to get a decent workout. And the best part... is that there's a path right from Cedar Creek to Jones Beach! It's a bit of a doozie if you're a beginner runner but it's even nice for a walk. Noisy considering its parallel to the Wantagh Pkwy but still very nice. There's a nice area to bring your dogs to as well as a big, spacious playground for the kids. I know there's a shooting range (archery), soccer fields (new), baseball fields, racquet ball/tennis courts, etc. I've had so many memories here and know that other's enjoy Cedar Creek a lot too. read more

This was the park I went to as a kid. There are big hills, made by man and probably filled with garbage. We used to go sled riding here all the time. I don't know how I did it for so long. I went sled riding 2 years ago and after 15 minutes, I was exhausted. We used to go at noon and stay there until dark. Did we really go up and down the hills that whole time? There were a few sections to ride down. One side of the hill was completely clean. Maybe someone built a jump, and if you were lucky enough, you could make it all the way to the street. Most of the time it was the most fun with as many people as possible on one hill. It was exciting when I'd smash into my brother mid-hill. Another side, you could go through the brush and try not to hit a tree. Sometimes we would go down two at a time. Whatever was the most dangerous was the most fun. Some things never change. Later on, I spent my hockey career on the roller rink until the roller bladers kicked us off. Then the tennis courts until the old tennis players complained and kicked us off. Then the handball courts until we tripped too many times on the lines. And sometimes the basketball courts, with no backboards, until the cracks got too annoying. We started by joining in the old men's games, but then eventually it was a whole crew of us. I got good and one of my few regrets is not pursuing it into college. As for roughhousing, it was common. It may have been our equipment or just our young bones, but no matter how many times we'd punch each other or have a pile-on, we never really got hurt. And for a secret, check out the Velodrome!!! Just go towards the treatment plant. There's also archery and remote control planes. read more

This park is fantastic! I started coming to this park for runs with my running team. Sometimes we'd do the mile loop around the park and sometimes we'd do the 4 mile trail from the park to Jones Beach. Either way, there's so much beauty to look at! Also, the hills in the middle of the park are great for sledding and hill repeat run workouts!! I've also been to several private parties at this park and if the weather is right, it's a blast!! Def. something to consider. There is also a dog run, baseball fields, tether car track and archery at this park!! I really recommend running, roller-balding or riding on the Jones Beach trail. They have multiple play areas for the kids, tennis courts, hills to use your sled in the winter, basketball courts, and an awesome bike trail which goes to Jones beach!! After researching countless Nassau County Parks, i stumbled upon this gem. Upon entering the premises i was set upon by a flock of male bicycle riders intent upon me not reaching my destination. I believe they were an aggressive territorial gang flying their black and yellow colors. "Live strong" gang tattoos decorate their backs. I knew this was going to be an amazing park, only truly great treasure is left guarded! I scare the bikers away with gutteral screams and copious amounts of windshield wiper fluid. I come around a corner and see a large hill. Upon the hill are dozens of children running all around. I get flashbacks of the giant anthills of inland brazil, i was there photographing large birds. With my lens focused upward into the canopy i did not see the giant red army ants marching away with my blind one legged jungle guide Hulio. To this day if i hear someone say "Ants at a picnic" i flee the scene screaming. The parents in Cedar Creek stared in bewilderment as i screamed "Give me back Hulio" in native pourtugese. The final bend in the road led to a caged fighting arena for small animals. Having watched Pokemon growing up i was familiar with the setting. I approached the gated coliseum fence and what did appear but a giant fat man. I took out my pokeflute that i carry in just such emergencies along with my silph scope for finding ghosts and my TM Cut (Machete) in case i have to murder a small bush in my way. Upon playing the flute the man stood up and looked at me as if he was going to attack. I gave him no chance however and threw a few skittles at the man. I find you catch more pokemon with bait than with rocks. This unfortunately made the wild fat man run away with a face of pure confusion. I left the animal arena after finding out this was more of a social gathering than blood sport. Either way i was out of skittles. This park is quite nice but the earthy human waste aroma really brings you straight to nausea. If you want to practice archery it does have a range of targets varying from wooden bullseyes to flying paper mache ones disguised as screaming seaguls. The fun aspect is you have to shoot them before they poop on your car. I give this park four stars. It would have been five but i removed a star for lack of cornerside tavern. read more

Love this park!!! My son is 2 years old and we have been coming to the park since he started walking. I love how it's sectioned off for older and younger children and the swings. I also love how the floor is rubber so if your child falls, they will be alright. read more

I use this park for the bike path to and from Jones Beach Theater & for the dog run, the bike path gets 5 stars, the dog run gets 1, the people at the dog park are great, but some just let their dogs in, don't watch them poop (or don't care that they do) and proceed to leave without picking it up good thing some of the regulars there help keep the place clean, but the idiots that use it as a toilet for their dogs ruin it for the rest also park administration does the bare minimum to maintain the place, I guess both of these complaints can be applied to any dog run in the area though read more

There is nothing better than a beautiful day with beautiful surroundings just relaxing. Cedar Creek Park is huge, hilly and offers a lot to do. There's a little dog park, tons of baseball fields, skating run, bike trails, sooo many places to BBQ. I ran a 5k here last year and the community really gets into those events which is a lot of fun (though I have to say the hills SUCK when you're running). The park is right by the water so there's a nice breeze but bring bug spray and beware of greenflies. I not only got my first bites of the year, but I looked like I was mauled by those suckers. The great thing is for being such a big park, it's surprisingly private. I went to a day party this past weekend and no one bothered us and vice versa. Found an awesome spot to set up our blanket in the shade and literally spaced out for a good hour just enjoying the sun and fabulous beats. ****NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT A NASSAU RESIDENT THERE IS A $10 PARKING FEE. read more

A drab late autumn day led me to Cedar Creek on assignment for work. Apparently there's a bike path that brings you right to Jones Beach (I didn't read any reviews before stopping in but was advised this by a colleague as we putted thru). It's a decent space, I suppose, but I didn't expect much from Nassau, and it delivered accordingly. read more

This is a great park. They have an awesome playground. I often come here with the little ones and find myself playing in the slides and monkey bars. I like that they have alot of diffent sections for different ages. They have a bike trail that my husband loves. They also have a nice dog run, basketball courts. They have great summer movies too and its not that crowded like eisenhower park. read more

The park has a path that connects down to the beach. It's a five mile paved path that takes you right to the theater. I would also consider it the best place in the winter Ike to go sledding with a family or older kids who want to go fast and have a great time. read more
