Cedar Hill Park - bike trail views
    Scott N.

This is a great park that has it all. Ball fields, playgrounds and it butts up to a biking trail that takes you all the way into Jones Beach along Wantagh Parkway. It's a little hidden but a great place to hang out for the day.

For a nassau county resident this is a solid four star park, but if I had to pay the nonresident parking fee (a steep $10, but it's only charged weekends and holidays from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day) I would probably knock a star off. There's something for everyone at this park, the list includes: bicycle/rollerblade/jogging trail to Jones Beach and it's being extended, baseball fields, two multipurpose turf fields, handball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, separate small and large dog runs, separate age group playgrounds, archery, tether cars, an aerodome with two runways, unreserved picnic sites with grills, and three reservable pavilions. The one star I knocked off is for the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They're basically always dirty.

Beautiful, spacious park on the south shore of Long island. I came here last night for a movie under the stars with my kids. It was a beautiful night and I was glad to see plenty of grassy area to sit and watch the movie with my kids. I'd love to come back one day during the day and see what else there is to do here.

Love this park!!! This park offers multiple playgrounds, a dog park, picnic areas, a baseball field, tennis courts and much more!! There is a great path to Jones Beach that starts at this park which is 4.5 miles long, I love biking running and rollerblading along this path when the weather is nice. There are great hills for sledding in the winter and running in the summer!! This is the best park in the local area and I frequent it often!!!! Be sure to check it out!!!

This is a great park! This is why you pay all this ridiculous money to live here. The affect of the park encourages you to be active. I think this was voted one of the best playgrounds on the Island. The set up is great. the parking is set up in fields along the loop of the park. Tennis and handball courts along with a spot to go skating and BBQ spots. My main interest is this park seems to be the entry point to ride the trails to Jones Beach.

Stopped by here when it was still warm out and our boy had a blast. Will definitely be back in the spring to check more of this park out.

Sometimes we'd do the mile loop around the park and sometimes we'd do the 4 mile trail from the park to Jones Beach.

I have been to this park a few times, would probably go more often if I lived closer. The times I have gone the group of owners and dog were very friendly. Owners were attentive to what their dogs were doing and for the most part the run was free of piles of poop. One of the better dog runs on Long Island, upgrade the ground cover and this is a solid 4 star run. ***UPDATE*** - installed new fencing for both dog runs - concrete under seating and entrance areas - dedicated dog water fountains in each dog run Still needs better ground cover (right now it is just dirt and rocks) This is now a solid 4 star run. We take our 24 lb dog to the smaller section, which is the limit. There are a number of owners who ate their bigger and aggressive dogs to the park. Our dog has been attacked (not play) and yelped on multiple occasions and the owners either didn't look up from their phones or laughed. Rough dog play is ok. Attacking a smaller dog and making her cry out really just means you shouldn't own a dog. Our dog plays well with other dogs, but the park attracts irresponsible owners. If you are an irresponsible dog owner please go to this park. That way I know how to avoid you in the future.

I love that he can be completely off the leash and has plenty of space to run around. Plenty of trees to mark and explore. The fences and gates are very secure. They have one side for the smaller dogs (25 lb and under) and another side for the bigger dogs. There are garbage cans but no poop bags available so remember to bring your own. There are also public metal water bowls and they turn on the water spout I'm assuming, once the weather gets warmer. It definitely wasn't turned on earlier this year. Benches can be located on the sides of the fenced in area for the humans and there's a covered area with seating toward the middle of each small and big dog side if you don't want to sit under the sun. A decent sized parking lot is right next to the dog park and there were always spots available the times that I have gone. It is very clean but of course that's also up to the people that frequent the park to pick up after their dogs and themselves. One time I was there, some guy brought his 3 dogs, sat on the bench and paid them no mind for 5-10 minutes. One of them pooped, he didn't pick it up and just left with all 3 dogs. Minus that one guy, all the other dog pawrents that go there were friendly and responsible from the times I've been there. I have heard of some of the bigger dogs fighting so just always keep an eye on your dog, whether you're on the big or small dog side. I highly recommend this dog park!
