Never got so close to nature while camping before…read more For my families annual camping trip, this location was chosen. We arrived early Friday morning and were able to grab campsites near each other that could occupy 30 of us. If you're into hammock'ing like myself, there are many trees up the hill from the campsites. Amanda and Dell did an awesome job helping us with anything we needed, showed us where everything was, and kept the sites including bathrooms really clean. The only thing they didn't mention was there were wolves in the area. (Story time!) On our last morning at 4am my cousin heard footsteps which he thought was our uncle. Turned out to be grey wolves bigger than the German Shepherd my cousin brought. The car alarm took a few trys for them to even budge. With our flashlights we were able to see 6 up in the woods. We then jumped in the car and left until sunrise. As for the fishing at Navajo Lake, we caught about 30 Chubs which we threw back and a few 10in Rainbow with our full day boat rental and 6 people. Worms were being hit more than power bait jfyi.

Close proximity to the lake and launch pad for boats. Cons: the weekend we visited it was warm. 80 during day and 40 at night. We got sun burned. Living in Vegas we are usto hot sun but not a sun so close like up on the mountain. This camp site and a few others had no shade. We had to go buy a canape to seek shelter from the sun. And when we did that we wanted to set it up in this one spot that was shady most of the day but there was a large pile of dry dead tree branches which was disheartening because fire level is at extreme. I'm not sure if we truly were allowed but the campsite host allowed small fires and was also selling fire wood. So we cleaned up and moved all the branches away from the area. Nothing like manual labor on vacation! I spotted a few other piles around our side of the compound. Camp site # 14 is along the road just a FYI. You can see the cars and trucks go by with out a guardrail but quite at night. Overall a nice peaceful place thank you!

He suggested my friend and I relax (after our hike) and let us use the porta potty, which was purple and was "clean" as far as porta pottys go! Anyway, because of that...I decided the next time I went back I would order a snack, I'm all about supporting local businesses, especially in small towns! Fast forward this summer...I brought two friends hiking and the three of us stopped to have snow cones! Now, I haven't had a snow cone in years...so, it was somewhat nostalgic and fun with all the creative names they have. They were good but more up my kids alley than mine, as I'm older, I've limited my intake of sugar. Now if there was a variety of "Margarita" snow cones, I'd be ALL IN!! LOL Bottom line: the proprietors here are great people with lots of knowledge about the area and it's a refreshing treat for you and or the kiddos to have something cold and tasty on a hot day! First off, if you're on the fence about going, DO IT! This is a beautiful summer campground, we went June 8-10, 2018 and the weather was perfect. It did get a little cold at night, but nothing that our sleeping bags couldn't handle. The campgrounds here aren't too close together which I really appreciated, but some campsites are more shaded than others. I stayed in B loop, site #48 and it was conveniently located close to the restrooms (which are kept very clean) and the campground host, who sell firewood. People here were very respectful of the quiet hours which start at 10. Keep in mind that there are no showers at this campsite. Also, the picnic table and fire ring are on concrete which I loved SO much and it even comes with a stand for your portable stove and a place to hang your lantern. The campsite also has tent pads that they have leveled out which made sleeping very comfortable. However, the one thing I do regret is not bringing a hammock!! There are lots of trees here. This place is also walking distance to a small lake where you can go fishing and a short 4 mike drive to Duck Creek Village, which has a convenience store, small restaurants, and souvenir shops.

August 28-31, 2026 - Bryce, UT…read more We stayed in Loop A, and I think this was the best loop for proximity to everything. We could easily walk to the Visitor Center, shuttle bus stop, General Store, showers, and the Rim Trail. You're also very close to the 5-mile multi-use trail, which is very convenient for cycling or walking your dog. This campground is reservation-only, at least during high season, and it was completely full while we were here. It's a dry campground with no hookups, but there are several water spigots where you can fill your drinking water containers. These spigots get an award for best water pressure and fastest fill-up. The campground was super quiet at night, except for the sonic boom of thunder and heavy rain we experienced one night. This is a Dark Sky campground, so leave the solar lights and bright, shining decorations packed away while you're here. It's a great place to enjoy the night sky without light pollution. Loops A and B are designated for RVs, although we did have one tent camper next to us for a few days. Loops C and D are tent-only. I highly recommend making a reservation and staying inside the park if you're camping or RVing in the area. The convenience of being right in the park--and within walking distance of so many amenities and trails--makes it well worth it.

Recommend Fairyland Loop for stunning views and fewer hikers, sunset point for sunrise (trust me) straight into the Queen's Garden to avoid crowds, and Bryce Point for sunset. Bathroom was clean, metal picnic tables. Quick drive to Sunrise/Sunset Points, I know the FCFS (first come first serve) tent only spots are closer, but I liked the certainty and peace of mind of a reserved spot.

Most people will go the most popular area in…read moreSpringdale, but there's a separate area known as Kolob Canyons which is located in a different area of the park about an hour's drive away. I spent a leisurely day here, which I thought was enough to enjoy the visitor center, the scenic drive, and hike Timber Creek Overlook as well as Taylor Creek Trail. The visitor center has the NPS ranger desk, a small gift shop with the usual NPS offerings, and information about the rocks. There's also washrooms here and water available. The drive was beautiful with many pull outs to enjoy the view. I drove up to Timber Creek Overlook which is at the end of the drive. It's about a 1.2 mi path, although it was evidentially super muddy in the past with super deep foot prints and people walking everywhere. It was ok. The Taylor Creek Trail was amazing. I've never hiked a trail with as many stream crossings, which made it fun. There's also two homestead cabins on the way, and the trail takes you through a narrow box canyon toward the Double Arch Alcove. The end of the hike was pretty chilly due to the shade and the water present. Brr. I think this is a great counterpart to the more famous area - it's definitely less visited and you get more solitude.

Kolob Canyons as part of Zion National Park is an underrated gem much less visited than The Narrows…read morein Zion. It's located about an hour north of the main park entrance, off the highway on the way to Cedar City. An admission fee is required to enter this area of the park. We arrived around 8:30am and there were only several cars in front of the visitor center. We checked in with our national park passes and started the 5-mile scenic drive up to the top of the mountain. There's are many pullouts along the road to take pictures and see the beautiful views. A circular parking lot is at the summit with vault restrooms and a nice view of the Kolob Canyons. The secret here is to hike the 0.5 mile trail with the trailhead at the parking lot. The hike has a little elevation, but a 76-year old in our party was able to hike all the way. The views at the end of the trail are phenomenal and worth the trip. We spent a lot of time here taking pictures and soaking up the sights. We could see far into the horizon, past the mountains into Arizona on a clear day. For me, visiting Kolob Canyons was my favorite and most memorable part of my Utah trip. The crowds here are nearly nonexistent, though parking at the top of the mountain can get full. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend adding Kolob Canyons to your itinerary!

We loved the shuttle! With a park pass, you can ride it free. The shuttle stops at all the main sights within the canyon as well as the campgrounds & lodge. It also stops several places within the town. The RV sights were spacious with beautiful views. Trees in every space. They also offer tent camping & teepees. The community showers are locked with a code needed to enter as well as some of the restrooms. All were very clean & smelled good. The campgrounds also have a shuttle service that will take you to places on & off the campgrounds. They offer a reasonably priced laundry with needed supplies for purchase. The room was very clean & well kept. The dryers take quarters or electronic payments. Ruby's is more than just an Rv park with many activities & things to do. There is a cowboy town with ice cream & cookies. A general store with souvenirs as well as a good selection of groceries. We went to Ebeneezer Barn & Grill in the evening. The food was surprisingly good & we watched a Bluegrass band. I highly recommend this as a vacation spot for families!

Red Ledge RV Park is approx 0.25 mi from the entrance of Kanarra Falls making it a prime location for hikers. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperative with us and we weren't able to hike the whole thing due to snow. Our stay here was pleasant. Check in process went smoothly. There was WiFi and locked bathrooms with showers that were fairly clean. The people we did see were kind and kept to themselves. It looks like they have picnic tables, BBQs, and a fire pit available for use but due to the snow those amenities weren't usable for us. Overall, I would stay here again, but probably during the warmer seasons.
