He is exceptionally skilled and has an impressive training resume/CV. Dr Badia was highly recommend to me by another hand surgeon about 2 hours north. I am a veterinarian and I need my hands to be 100% to allow me to perform surgery on my furry four legged patients. The other hand surgeon I initially went to see for my injury said that he would recommend I go to Dr Badia because of his skill level and high case load. The particular injury I had was not super common in the general population, and was associated more with athletes. Dr Badia is out of network for all health insurance policies. So you will likely end up paying more out of pocket than you would with other doctors. But in my opinion, it's worth investing in yourself to ensure the best possible outcome for your injury. I'm still in the recovery phase, so I can speak yet on the outcome...but so far so good. The staff is all very kind and helpful.

I picked the Doral location because it's close to work. Having recently started at a new position and being in my probationary period, I had to deal with a super basic insurance before my employer's policy kicks in. Karla, the office manager, was really helpful in calling and dealing with the company thus saving me that "headache". After previous home & alternative remedies weren't working, I called this office. It's located in a Doral office building and next to another orthopedic practice. From what I understand, the other office is OrthoNow's "home base" where I would go if my condition doesn't ger better. It's also where OrthoNow does their imaging. When I visited, Melissa who does double duty as an xray tech & medical assistant, took my vitals and took me downstairs for xrays. After the x-rays, I was checked out by William the nurse practitioner, who reviewed and said that basically I have tennis elbow, so I have to take it easy for at least a little bit on the weights.

I strongly discourage people to go here. I wasted three hours of my time to see the doctor, and he…read moreonly saw me for less than five minutes! As soon as they called my name they said I needed an x-ray (to charge my insurance). I had come in specifically because my tendons have been aching and pulsing for the past two weeks. The PA first came in to see me and ask a few questions. He was very nice and listened intently. Then the doctor came in and said my x-rays were good (which I already knew), and mentioned that people when they first start working out sometimes overdue it. I told him that I've been working out for ten months. He then said that not everyone is meant to be a line backer....what! He made no sense what so ever, and never bothered to tell me what I had! Before he left I mentioned that I had flat feet, so he asked me to stand on my tip toes. He said I have "flexible flat feet" and instead of explaining how that could be affecting my knees, he gave my a business flyer to get new shoes at a running store (my shoes are already from a running store). He then left the room without explaining my symptoms, and never said good-bye. So, in my mind I thought he was coming back, but he never did. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. Btw, he is the only Orthopedic there.

I needed a shoulder MRI and I absolutely refused, Im claustrophobic. This facility was recommended…read moresince its open. Appointment was set and there I was. They have parking in the back. Registration was quick and before you know it I was in a gown with all jewelry off and ear plugs ready. The technician was patient with me as right away she could see I was starting to freak out a bit. She waited until I calmed myself placed me in the proper position, made sure I was comfortable and told me not to move. They give you a button to hold onto just in case you need a break or you have the urge to move, I cant lie, pressed it once. But after doing some breathing excercises it was over. While the procedure is going they have HGTV on so I tried to focus on that. So my advice is relax, focus on something that keeps you occupied and just try to relax. It'll be over before you know it.
