I started developing left hip pain and my GP gave me a referral to this physician. I first had an…read moreappointment with the physicians assistant who thought I was a candidate for left hip replacement. The assistant sent me for an mri and return to see him after the mri. When I arrived for 2nd exam, the assistant was able to get the physician to evaluate me, even though I had no appointment to see him. After I saw the physician he approved my left hip replacement. The day before surgery I received a phone call from the surgeon asking me if I was ready for surgery and if I had any questions. I thought it was a classy move by the physician to call me prior to surgery. I arrived at hospital at 5:30 am and at 8 am they were taking me into the surgical suite. By 12:30 pm I was released. To make things easier, the hospital pharmacy filled my scripts saving us time obtaining the scripts. The physician and all the staff were friendly and excellent. Right after the surgery my groin pain is already better. A few hours after I got home I started to read the printed material that I received from the hospital that explains in detail everything from the procedure, the exercises to do, phone to rehab department and a complete list of all medications I received and how much to take and how often. I have had numerous surgeries to different body parts and I never received a complete package like today. I am impressed. I highly recommend this surgeon. It's tough to get a surgeon who is excellent and has great bed side manners and this surgeon has both.

As soon as they called my name they said I needed an x-ray (to charge my insurance). I had come in specifically because my tendons have been aching and pulsing for the past two weeks. The PA first came in to see me and ask a few questions. He was very nice and listened intently. Then the doctor came in and said my x-rays were good (which I already knew), and mentioned that people when they first start working out sometimes overdue it. I told him that I've been working out for ten months. He then said that not everyone is meant to be a line backer....what! He made no sense what so ever, and never bothered to tell me what I had! Before he left I mentioned that I had flat feet, so he asked me to stand on my tip toes. He said I have "flexible flat feet" and instead of explaining how that could be affecting my knees, he gave my a business flyer to get new shoes at a running store (my shoes are already from a running store). He then left the room without explaining my symptoms, and never said good-bye. So, in my mind I thought he was coming back, but he never did. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. Btw, he is the only Orthopedic there.

I should have shopped around and found a different provider .I undoubtedly would have paid thousands of dollars less , my credit would not have been ruined ., and my newly constructed acl would still be in tact . Some of the things I wish I knew before getting my surgery done by this provider are : 1) while HE is in network the OUTPATIENT SURGICAL SUITE (DOCS) is NOT nor is the ANESTHESIOLOGIST he partnered with to do my surgery . To date I have had to pay $1200+ additional because this was not disclosed to me . I also have had a $2000 bill recently go into collections related to the anesthesia I received during my surgery . The anesthesia group ( conservative care ) has horrible reviews as well as the medical debt collection agency they sold my debt off to . 2) while the specific type of acl reconstruction surgery he performed is better than the alternative cadaver graft procedure ...the specific type of surgery he performed has a high retear rate for ( over 60%) for women . I did everything he told me to do and while I was on the east coast recovering my knee gave out and I fell down a flight of stairs . He had told me to stop wearing my brace but if I knew about the high retear rate I would not have . I am now exactly where I was before getting the surgery in terms of having limited mobility and chronic knee pain but the main difference is that I am thousands of dollars poorer and my credit is ruined . As a provider he and his administrative staff should have disclosed to me or at least encouraged me to verify that the entities he partnered with were also in network . He should have also disclosed what the risks were and given me accurate data about possible a retear. Other good providers who really care about their patients would have .

I was looking for a podiatrist to help me with Tinea pedis (toe fungus) , when I came across Dr. Cook's webpage there were photo's of feet with nail fungus that was treated with laser treatment. WHO KNEW! I am excited to try laser treatments, unfortunately it's not covered by most insurance companies:( but well worth the investment to be free of fungus trauma! Stay tune for future reviews.
