The doctor gave me a physical and didn't feel an MRI was necessary so he sent me for X-rays and autoimmune testing. The initial visit was great but the follow through has not been. I told the doctor that I react badly to medications and preferred not to take any but since he felt my pains could be inflammatory caused by autoimmune conditions he sent me a prescription for an anti inflammatory. I called the hospital a week later to set up a follow up appointment and was told it wasn't necessary because all of my results came back normal. I requested several times to be given access to the patient portal in order to see my results and I have been told repeatedly that they already emailed me the invitation. The last email I have from them was in 2016. I called back (each time waiting at least 10 minutes to speak to someone) and I am told they don't know who can help me with that. In the meantime, two weeks after my visit I had to go to urgent care for a severe sore throat. Turns out I have thrush. I have never had this before and the only new thing I was doing was taking the medicine the doctor prescribed. I called back to speak to the doctor and find out if it could be a side effect from the medication and the nurse told me she would speak to him and get back to me. Still no call. I decided to research the side effects of the medication and what I am experiencing is definitely on the list along with a few other gastrointestinal ones I didn't realize were also being caused by the medication. Now I'm on antibiotics against my better judgement due to my condition but I am stuck with no answers and no support. I am extremely frustrated!!

Dr. Herskowitz has been doing injections for migraines for decades (way before they were FDA-approved), and it shows. He clearly knows what he's doing, and I always felt like I was in good hands with him. His office is also very organized and did a great job of submitting all the proper paperwork to my insurance company to initially get the shots approved. Dr. Herskowitz is very punctual, and I never had to wait more than ten minutes for any appointment, either for a checkup or for shots. It was reassuring to know how many years of experience he had doing these migraine injections. The injections consist of 31 shots in your your head and neck area, and I honestly don't think I could have trusted a doctor who was less experienced to perform that sort of procedure on me. The migraine injections made a massive difference for me, taking me from about fifteen migraines a month down to three or so. I definitely recommend that anyone seeking this kind of treatment goes to see Dr. Herskowitz if his office accepts your health insurance.
