Went got $18 large pizza of the month or whatever was on the board. Really strange that they only have two or three pizzas but it doesn't look like they carry anything fresh. Every pizza consisted of the same toppings, except for one having pineapple and one having olives or one had tomatoes. The crust was or is old, stale, and definitely not made by them. There's no sign of the smell or fresh yeast in it. It seems to be some bulk dough maybe not even pizza dough, even then no seasoning no salt no olive oil incorporated into it. Do Not Get The Ranch! it's a dollar a container and it's hidden Valley Ranch not just that it was old hidden Valley Ranch so it had that weird mayonnaise vinegar top where the consistency is different. I was really disappointed with you guys when I asked if you guys if you made your own ranch and you said yes. I paid for two and then proceeded to give me my order without the ranches so I had to go back inside and ask you directly, super unprofessional guys. There was three of you there and I was the only person they are within the half an hour that I sat around waiting. The funniest part is I was ready to order as soon as I walked in, but the girl was on the phone. The ponytail guy was ignoring me, and the bald guy was walking around just looking at stuff purposely not making eye contact. Owners and employees take the time to make your own dough. It's super simple and it'll actually be cheaper. Take the 10 minutes it takes to mix the mayonnaise the milk in the ranch packet so that you guys have decent ranch. I don't want to be rude rude but my high school pizza and ranch was better. Since everybody read this, I'll give you the breakdown on price. $18 large pizza, uncooked or take and bake $2 ranch sides that are hidden valley and old stale and bursting from gases $0.60 credit card surcharge for anyone using card. Tip! I was very offended with my service waiting ten minutes purposely being ignored so I put zero or $0 as tip since it was takeout to go and no one was serving me and I was standing there literally waiting for my food like McDonald's. Tip #2!- Yes! They try to charge you two tips! I was so lost I just watched the guy stare me down as I put no tip in the credit card machine and he prints another copy out with another open tip line! I gave in and gave a buck just to stop him but really?! You have like a 60-year-old dude guilt tripping you for tips after they ignored you for 10 minutes while the place was completely empty. It felt so weird. I'm almost convinced if I put 0 tip paper after I had put zero on the digital charge he would've tried to ask for a cash tip an pulled out a plastic jar out of nowhere. Ambiance is an empty dusty off white commercial kitchen that has a white board and three people who don't want to be there. Ordered pizza last night at about 5:45, arrived at 6:54pm (on my way home from work) to find the place closed...doors locked, lights off, nobody inside. Didn't see anyone outside either, as if they had already been gone a while. It's already bad enough they close at 7:00 and are closed Sunday (football day) and Monday. They should be open until 9:00 like other pizza places! The reason I haven't stopped going here is because I prefer Cecil's pizza over other places, but this isn't the first time this has happened and it's so unprofessional/inconsiderate! While the pizza isn't the best in clearlake, it definitely is worth trying out for the price, since take-and-bake is generally around half the price of any decent cooked pizza. The staff can seem moody at times, but properly answers questions and helps with deciding what pizza to take home. The one big thing I dislike is the owner/manager. They never seem to be in (whenever I have come by for food) and the signs on the window, as well as some of the rules in the restaurant, are just plain annoying. I mean, open 6 days a week? I know it's usually safe to assume Sunday is the day off, but I wasn't sure, and when I called to place an order it just kept ringing until I eventually reached what sounded like a fax machine (they could at least have an automated message informing customers of operational hours. I also was bothered by how they deal with specials, which in this case was two larges, one pepperoni and the other pepperoni, bacon, garlic and olives, but they would not let me get the deal with minus garlic/olives! I didn't even want to swap toppings, I just wanted them to minus 2 toppings, which would have saved them both a few seconds when making the pizza, as well as some cents/dollars in ingredients, so I ended up paying more money for less toppings. Aside from all that, it's decent enough if you want to stick to exactly what's on paper, but don't expect to eat from their if you are hungry for pizza on a Sunday night. Probably my favorite place to get pizza anywhere in Lake County. When I lived in Clearlake, my family would order Cecil's almost every week. The pizza totally has that fresh taste to it as everything tastes fresh from the sauce to the cheese and the toppings are premium quality as well. The pizza was much better than any of the other pizza places around Clearlake and it's also less expensive than getting one already bakes even though that is an option here. Kind of awkward when you walk in though. Wasn't really greeted and being the first time there we weren't really sure what to do. They have the best pizza in Lake County! Papa Murphy's crust is GROSS, Cecil's is so much better. In fact, I like Cecil's crust more than any other pizza around. Lower Lake pizza is decent, same goes for Pogo's, but I'll take a Cecil's Detrick pizza over either one...any day of the week....and on Monday's you can't get a Pogo's pizza...but Cecils's is open ;-) Again, if you think Papa Murphy's crust is sickening like I do.... you need to try Cecil's, it's worth the drive, even from Lakeport to Clearlake. read more

Usually get take and bake and the dough and pizza as a whole are pretty good. I had no idea the crust is different if you have them cook it... the dough was very dry and chewy clearly taste and feels like premade dough. Called and tried to speak to the owner but instead spoke with Chris who assured me it's made fresh... regardless it was inedible and for $20.08 a terrible deal for cardboard crust. I would have given it 3 stars if they gave my money back... but they didn't I didn't even get a receipt for my purchase, not very professional at this joint. This place seems to be fairly popular amongst some people, but I can't really see why. It is cheaper than going to the Pizza Parlor, yes, but the quality is lower as well. Honestly there isn't much to say. It is pretty standard take-n-bake. I don't personally think it is that great, but it isn't bad either. The place always looks clean and they have some nicely priced specials. It is a fluke to get someone on the phone, and I have come by during normal hours to find them closed. Some of the staff (usually teens) are really sweet kids, and some are snotty brats.. You just never know what you'll get. read more

I think Cecil's is the best pizza in Clearlake. Cecil's also now cooks pizza , but I prefer Take & Bake this time of year, helps warm up the house!! I have tried other 2 places in Clearlake, Not so Good. If you get the special, there is no changes to it, but this is OK, have a pizza adventure. Order your own choice, fixed up as you wish. (sizes - Mini=??, med=12, lg=14, Xlg=16, Family=18 and Party=20) May 2010 special is Pepperoni + Pineapple + Garlic I thought it was good, but a bit shy on Pepperoni and Pineapple. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Two days ago, decided to go back for a different pizza. I ordered their Large "Cecil's Bomb" ($14) It was also good. I believe this was a better buy than their Special. Okay- so after 40 years I've come to understand that an Italian husband cannot keep that smile from drooping if he doesn't get his pizza fix regularly. Tony ( my hubby) broke his neck in an auto accident a couple decades ago and spent time in traction, accompanied by a bland diet. When finally out of traction and into a body cast he begged for pizza! He said, "Kitty, you don't understand! If an Italian doesn't get pizza they die!!!!" Our kids started pleading , "Mommy go get him a pizza!" That was one of the few times that I remember him being agreeable to take out pizza. He isn't always in the mood to visit a pizza parlor and he (usually) HATES take out/delivery, because of how soggy the pizza gets by the time it reaches his mouth. I used to make pizza for him, but let's face it- these Lake County summers don't exactly need anymore heat ie oven at 425 for almost an hour. Can't tell you what finding Cecil's Take N Bake Pizza has done for keeping Tony's smile fixed firmly on his face!! Their crust is fabulous~!! and Love their menu. Hands down the rudest group of jerks work there. Every time I call in I get horrible service and made to feel like an inconvenience. I really enjoy the food, but the owner allows this type of behavior and service to continue is beyond me. I will be driving now to the better pizza place in Lake County which is Pogo's Pizza. Asked for any specials, it was my son's birthday and he wanted pepperoni, they said there weren't any specials available. Guy with pony tail starts making my pizza, girl took my money. Right away on a chalkboard I notice that for an Xtra $5.00 I can get two of the same pizzas for the price. I ask if I can add the $5. and get the Xtra pizza. Blonde guy with pony tail smiles a rude creepy grin and tells me it is too late, my order has begun. I take my one mediocre pepperoni pizza and I will never go there again. I had told them it was my son's birthday before I ordered, very mean people. I was the only customer in the store on a week day and it wouldn't of been a big deal to take my $5.00 and add the Xtra pizza. As I left the creepy dude rudely wishes me a good day.
