Only thing is there's no indication of the length of the track (how many laps for a mile). Also, when we went last week, the bathrooms were locked up. Not sure if they're permanently closed or just haven't opened up yet but it would be nice to have at least one facility available in the park. The playground is very large and well-maintained, and there's always kiddos around enjoying it.

Situated across from a popular miniature golf location, the park features basketball and tennis courts, a soccer field, a skatepark, a dog park (sectioned by dog size), and other family friendly features. You admittedly won't find any major trails to explore here, as the park isn't big enough for that. It's also heavily geared towards family friendly outings and local youth sports games. But those features are exactly what make this place such a nice addition to Carnegie. And no matter what, you'll still have plenty of greenery to take in and enjoy! If I had to name a downside about this place, getting to the park by anything other than car can be less than ideal. Sidewalks cease to exist in certain areas surrounding the park, so if you don't want to drive in, you'll need to stroll in with caution. Other than that, though, I have no complaints - and I'll still walk here on a semi-regular basis to get some exercise, clear my head, and see what my fellow community members are up to with their families and dogs.

Mingo Creek Park is a beautifully maintained park that is perfect for a group of friends, a family…read moreouting, a walk with your dog, or even a date - if you come prepared. While there are plenty of restrooms throughout the park, they appear to all be portable toilets and do not seem to have running water. There may be facilities elsewhere with running water, but I did not come across any except for a small sink located near a building that looks like a bathroom but that isn't a bathroom with indoor picnic tables. That said, the restrooms I did encounter are probably the nicest portable restrooms I have ever seen. The numerous benches throughout the park are a welcome feature, making it easy to spend an entire day exploring the area. There are also plenty of picnic benches conveniently located along the trail if you come with your own food and something to clean your hands with. Much of the trail runs alongside a flowing creek, providing the relaxing sound of moving water throughout your walk. The main trail is wide, level, and stretches for about 2.8 miles, making for an enjoyable hike. There are also several side trails that branch off into more heavily wooded areas for those looking to explore further. One thing I would recommend is making sure you know where you are going before arriving. Cell phone service can become spotty as you approach the parking areas, which may make it difficult to coordinate with people who have never visited the park before. That said, there is ample parking once you find it.

This is such a great park! There are a lot of amenities and it is easy to get to off of the…read morehighway. There are a variety of sports faculties (baseball, soccer, batting cages etc). They also have some great trails for walking/running. There are many playgrounds and an amphitheater on a sloped hill where you can catch some live entertainment. The park and the facilities are well maintained and there are often special events like artisan markets. What would make it five stars is better directional signage and easier navigation. There are a few points where you have to go quite a bit in one direction to get to where you need to go.

Riverside Park is not only close to home but a great park in general. The upper area consists of a…read moredeck hockey arena, baseball diamonds, football bleachers, and other Riverview Athletic Association functionality. There are clean bathrooms and water fountains as well. On a side note, the park is in walking distance from pretty much anything in Oakmont, including Brrkee's Ice Cream. The lower area is really where you can find a little bit of everything for kids and adults. There are covered picnic pavilions, a beautiful walking track, tennis courts, benches, water fountains, and an incredible playground that includes sprinklers. The playground area is completely enclosed with gates that latch shut. The area is perfect for kids to play and adults to sit or walk. Also, the lower area not only overlooks the river but has gated access to a set of stairs that lead down to a small "beach" sandy area. As a parent, I personally find the park to be clean, safe, and fun. Among other rules, there is not smoking and no pets allowed, which most folks do a good job of respecting and observing. I've been to the park in all four seasons and have never had a problem keeping my son busy. In short, this park has something for everyone! Check it out!
