We had a few last-minute changes with our group size, and your staff was very flexible and accommodating throughout. With a mix of newer golfers and more experienced players, pace of play was a bit slower at times, but everyone was patient and understanding, which we really appreciated. The staff inside the clubhouse was excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great. The check-in process in the pro shop was just as smooth--everyone was helpful and welcoming, and even assisted us with setting up some individual games for the round. We also appreciated how seamless everything felt from start to finish. The communication was clear, the setup was organized, and it made the entire day easy for our group. We had about 20 people participate, and everything ran smoothly despite the size of the group. The golf course itself was beautiful. If you're in the Madison area, it's definitely a course worth playing. We've been doing this outing for a couple of years now, and this was by far our best experience. It helped that I saw some golf carts buzzing around an undersized parking lot. Checking in is easy - the staff are quite friendly and helpful. Inside, the clubhouse looks to have gone through some renovations, but we didn't spend much time inside. The course itself - so much to say. First, I don't think I'd want to walk it. The holes themselves aren't bad. Yardage wise, the course isn't terribly long (par 34/36).. But the layout would be a tough walk. There is quite a hike between a few holes - I wish I had grabbed a scorecard so I could say for sure, but there were a few "pleasant drives" in the cart to some tee boxes. I don't know if they could rearrange the layout to balance it out more - I'm sure they've thought of that. There were some interesting holes - the rolling layout keeps you thinking, and can hind some features you may not know about. Some of the par 3 holes are longer (I think one was nearly 230 yards). Some par 4 holes are shorter - tempting you to drive it. You'd think the course would be easy with those holes, but narrow fairways and tight turns make you lay up more than you probably want to. I'll chalk up a few of my strokes today as "I'da scored better had I been more familiar with the layout"... The front 9 is more wooded. The back nine is a little more open. The TL;DR of it all - if you're not consistently straight off the tee, this course could frustrate you. Stray shots will punish your score. Otherwise, it's a pretty course with some character. I'd golf it again, I suspect, but with all the other options in the area, and closer to me, it probably won't be a frequent stop for me.

Firstly, I must mention that the absence of many hazards on this course was a relief for me. As someone who is still learning the ins and outs of golf, it was nice not to have to worry about many bunkers, water hazards, and rough terrain. Oak Ridge offered a relatively hazard-free environment, which allowed me to focus on improving my swing and getting the basics right. One of the standout features of this course was the friendly and welcoming customer service. The staff was friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcomed before we teed off. On this particular day, they did not offer drink service on the course. They mentioned they typically do, however their cart staff was at a golf competition. However, I must admit that the layout of the course had its quirks. The holes seemed to be placed quite close to each other, which created a somewhat crowded feel on the course. It could be a bit challenging to concentrate on my own game when another group was playing on an adjacent hole. At one point, my husband actually got hit in the hand by another golfer's ball. The greens were is decent shape - some better than others. But tough pin placement - many located on a hill. As you can imagine, my newbie balls struggled getting up there. We go a new course each time we golf and collect ball markers. Sadly, they didn't have ball markers for sale.

But she could "book me at 2:05 with a two-some. Her tone was rude and uninviting. Considering they had 2 back to back tee times open with 4 available players she could have booked me. I understand this business model in the middle of summer, but in the fall after kids are back in school and day of it shouldn't be an issue. While it looks like a nice course, I probably will not visit it due to the customer service. Additionally if they do not want singles they should only advertise 2-4 players on those tee times.

It is a lovely resort, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are equally as beautiful. It's like a row of tiny townhouses. Next trip will definitely be longer to enjoy the grounds. The employees working there where very helpful when we arrived and were pretty confused where to check in and begin our stay. I wish I remembered his name from the evening. The following morning at check out the gentleman, Vincent, was very helpful. I over slept that morning and he was nothing but kind with assistanting with checkout and pointing us in the direction of the pool. Looking forward to our next stay at this resort!

For a community park, this beats every other park I've been to thus far. We frequent this park…read moreoften during the week. Not in the winter, but in the summer we may be here 3 to 4 times a week. Some times we rode our bikes, 5 miles away from our home, to the park traveling on the ice age hiking trail and what a glorious trail that is. Once summer arrives, we eagerly await the opening of the wading pool. The closest thing we have to a beach really. The park is very well kept. The grasses are well maintained and trimmed. Restrooms are clean. There's also the travel center on the grounds, that also acts as the welcome station for Janesville. If you go there and tell them you are newly arrived they will give you a packet which includes several saving coupons that can be used at various stores and eateries. Parking is abundant and can be found at different locations through out the park. There are many picnic tables with fixed grills ready to be used. I bring a grill top just to be safe and clean when using these grills. You can fly kites, have large parties as people often do, and there are even short hikes with trail heads close by. The main attraction is the play ground itself. Designed like a large forest camp with many places to climb, run, explore it truly is heaven for kids as they run around expending energy. There are slides any one can go down. These have rollers so no matter how you are you will go down, and fast too. You really have to watch yourself coming down these type of slides. I have seen many adults land smack flat on their buttock, and I laugh every time watching them remembering my first time too. There's also rings for kids to strengthen their grip and rocking platforms to help control their balance. When the wading pool is open it gets crowded but several life guards are always present to make sure there is no misbehaving by kids as well as adults. The spouting whale slides and umbrella water rain falls are excellent attractions for the kids to take pictures on. The surrounding area also offers kids to begin their exploration of nature. There is lots to see in plants as well as bugs. Many have vibrant colors and are so strange looking that makes them very interesting. We loved coming here. It's a great way to spend family time while your kid unleashes that bottled up energy and get a good work out building his physical abilities with coordination. I hope they get someone to clean the beach before it opens officially. They have nice places to sit which are surrounded in goose poop, unfortunately. There is a concession stand and a dock for kayaking. Also, it's right next door to the botanical gardens!
