Acupuncture relieved some of my pain and I did gain back some movement. Day of was ok but today is day 2 and I'm seeing more improvement. The office is nice, and clean. I was given a bell in case of discomfort while I was on the table alone. It don't work. They didn't hear the bell. Gave me a false sense of comfort but in the end it worked out since the pain I was feeling subsided. Also be aware there is a cancellation fee. Knowing all this I will return and do recommend them.

She kept it very professional, but friendly at the same time which helped me feel more at ease. She was more than happy to help and do extra in terms of relieving the muscle. I also can't exaggerate how I fell asleep during the process, but it was definitely relaxing enough that my body felt very light. Coming out of it, there is some soreness, which is to be expected as it is targeting the muscle. I would highly recommend and I would try to book with Miriam. Another highlight about Miriam is that she seems very passionate about what she does and that's probably the best type of person that you can ask for when doing this process.

A miracle worker! I…read morewas in Florida and was very active, biking, kayaking, etc. A few days after returning I had extreme sciatica. I've had a bad back most of my adult life, but never sciatica. I was completely miserable. I couldn't sleep and was in constant distress. I went to Dr. Wu and felt great after each visit, but the Sciatica returned. Dr. Wu warned me that it would take multiple visits. After the 4th visit, I was completely cured. A few weeks later, I developed a different back pain and also had groin pain on one side. This wasn't just "oh, I'm sore" pain - it was pain and discomfort that was interfering with my life - it was so bad I had trouble driving. I returned to Dr. Wu and he "killed" me. When I walked out I was still miserable and I had no idea what I was going to do. But when I woke up the next morning, I was completely cured and I've been absolutely fine ever since. My insurance would not cover the visits, but it's priced very reasonably. I've deducted one star only because one has to walk a large flight of stairs and because the office is a bit shabby, but maybe if the office was nice, it would cost 2-3x the price. If I had major surgery and got the same result, I would have been very happy. But Dr. Wu accomplished the same thing for pennies in comparison, with just acupuncture and intense massage. Couldn't be happier.

Ruby's practice is very welcoming; it is very relaxing and meditative. The practice is located in a beautiful part of Kew Gardens and is very close to LIRR. Ruby is very attentive to the issues you come with and asks a lot of questions about your condition. I have had a combined session of acupuncture and massage. The massage complements the acupuncture and is absolutely worth the extra cost. Ruby is very knowledgeable about the holistic medicine overall. I felt very energized and renewed every time I left her office. After 4 weekly sessions I feel much better and livelier. I will continue my sessions with Ruby whenever I feel like I need one. Highly recommended!

Ruby was extremely pleasant to talk with and gave me some helpful information about my eating habits that will help improve my skin. She started off the session by having William, one of her coworkers, give me a message first. William's massage really helped relax me. After the massage, Ruby started her acupuncture session, and although I am extremely afraid of needles, I didn't feel most of the needles. The ones that I did feel were merely tiny pinches, which really speaks to the expertise of Ruby. I have been to some acupuncturist in which I felt every needle going into me. Within just one week of Ruby's treatment and suggested herbal medication, my skin improved immensely. I am so happy that Ruby's acupuncture clinic is just a block away from me and definitely recommend anyone who is interested in improving their health and wellness to check her out!

Easily the WORST experience I've ever had with acupuncture…read more There was a great place in Jackson Heights that I used to go to, but Comuni moved to Forest Hills, so I decided to try Wan-Mei Woo. She says all of 5 words to me before she has me cram myself face down on a medical table. ChinaHerb/Woo does not have the standard massage/acupuncture bed with a face down headrest. Instead they have a flat table and give you basically a hemorrhoid pillow to rest your forehead on. This is awful for a couple reasons: it's claustrophobic and gives no air to breathe, and also, if you have a neck issue, it bends your neck backward in an awkward position. It's not relaxing at all. She, then, uncrumpled some emergency blanket from some corner of the room, threw it over me and left (no mention of how long). Because the walls are not built up to the ceiling, I listen to two competing soundtracks and EVERY word of the other patients' conversations and check-in. The only good thing I can say is that menstrual cycle of the neighboring patient seems to be doing much better today! The doctor comes in and out of the room to grab supplies for the other rooms, but says nothing to me. After a total of 20 minutes, she comes back into my room, crumples up the emergency blanket and stashes it in the corner--I wonder if this thing is ever washed (certainly wasn't washed between my leaving and the next patient being ushered into my room). She asks if I feel better. I say not really. Digging her knuckles into the back of my head, she asks if I feel pain. I say, it's certainly not comfortable. She says, yes, but do you feel pain? I say, well, what you're doing hurts. She asks me to turn my neck from side to side, and says, it's better than when you came in. But the important thing, and the reason Woo is not trustworthy, is because she never asked me to turn my neck when I came in. So, really, she has nothing to compare and she is just fobbing me off. Then she leaves the room. I'm not sure if this means we're done or if she's coming back or what. Eventually, I collect my things and head to the front desk to pay $85 for less than 30 minutes. TLDR: The doctor was rude, the "bed" was not professional, the practice seemed unsanitary, and the experience did absolutely nothing good for me.

The MDs were at a loss. Pure luck introduced Dad to Frank Huo, who was at Columbia University School of Medicine, and his cohort at MIT. They were doing a seminar on Quan Ji and it was free except $25.00 for each participant to pay for the meeting room. I believe the course/seminar lasted seven days. They provided literature and a cassette with pronunciations of a song/chant that they would sing and meditate to. I attended the first several days of the course with my dad but had to return to work. He was debilitated he couldn't dance or do some of the movements but participated in the song. The doctor brought an herbal tea and my day was instructed to drink it at home as well as i. class. Frank and his partner laid hands on each person each day and by the end of the week my dad, who was a positive person anyway, was very optimistic. On his next Oncology appointment, his tumors looked smaller and the cancer had ceased to spread. On his six months visit his tumors had shrunk. In 8 or ten months he was clean of cancer and stayed that way for 5 plus years. I wish he lived in Arizona where I live now.
