Very poor customer communication. The customer agent Mariah has created complete chaos and confusion in our appointment

If you aren't going to offer these services for people who aren't pursuing more extensive intervention, you shouldn't advertise them on your website. It's already hard to accept that you're going to need medical intervention to have a child, but to then also be met with the most apathetic staff makes the situation even worse--especially when dealing with something as difficult as infertility.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! My experience with Boston IVF was…read morean absolute NIGHTMARE, primarily due to their unethical and aggressive billing department. After completing treatment, I started receiving bills for charges that seemed completely unfounded - storage fees for embryos that I was told would be disposed of, and amounts that didn't match any services I authorized or received. When I questioned these charges and requested itemized explanations, communication was evasive, and responses were slow or nonexistent. Despite making payments, I later discovered that some had not been properly applied to my account, leading to escalating fees. Then came the threats: repeated calls and letters pushing the "debt" to collections, even though disputes were ongoing and many charges appeared erroneous or unauthorized. It felt like outright bullying. How many times do I need to call and cancel services, drop off a letter and send an email. IVF is stressful enough without a clinic adding financial harassment on top of it. Boston IVF's billing practices seem designed to overcharge and intimidate patients into paying disputed amounts quickly. I strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere as there are better options that treat patients with respect and transparency. Save yourself the headache and potential credit damage

I did my first IVF retrieval at Brigham and Women's in Sept 2020 and would say that I had a mixed…read moreexperience. The good: Dr. Elizabeth Ginsburg is smart, a direct communicator, and sets realistic expectations from the jump. I felt like we received clear, concise information from her and she didn't beat around the bush. Appointments were easy to schedule and there was great flexibility with timing - particularly for things like blood draws. We were coming from the west coast so the team really worked with us to ensure that our trip was planned for the appropriate timeframe, medications and appointments were timed to ensure the greatest possible likelihood of success, etc They were the most cost conscious clinic of the 4 we attended (which was great given that our treatments in Boston were paid out of pocket). This clinic did not obsess over trying to make patients lose weight before pursuing fertility treatments (unlike my first clinic - wasting precious time for women who are already in their 30s or 40s). The bad: The nurse, Pam, was easily the most challenging part of working with Brigham and Women's. She was slow to communicate and I found her extremely stressful to work with a times. For example, I was forced to call the on call doctor because the clinic had closed and I was not told when I needed to trigger the day before my retrieval. The next day she claimed that she was "going to call me"after hours but that I had called the on call doctor first. Generally speaking, I don't believe that patients should be left wondering what is going on with their retrieval TOMORROW MORNING after the clinic has already closed for the day. I chose to do my second retrieval at another clinic entirely because of my poor experience with Pam - in spite of all of the other positives with this clinic. My IVF results were in line with what I expected given my age (late 30s) and situation: 3 embryos, 1 genetically normal. We did end up having a more successful retrieval at another clinic 2 months later (6 embryos, 4 genetically normal, 1 live birth thus far) BUT I know that my clinic in Seattle relied heavily on the info gleaned from my Boston retrieval to come up with a treatment plan so I suspect that my second retrieval would have been better had it been done at Brigham and Women's as well. Only time will tell if we end up using the embryo currently on ice at Brigham and Women's. Overall I would recommend Brigham and Women's and Doctor Ginsburg but suggest asking for an alternate nurse if you end up with Pam.

As a 37 year old woman, I can tell you that I've always known I wanted children. However, I didn't…read moreimagine being single in my late 30's...so after almost 2 years of going back and forth with myself, I finally decided to give my future-self the best chance at having a biological child and I started the process to freeze my eggs. Fertility is personal and emotional and scary but choosing the right doctor makes ALL the difference. The best decision I made was choosing Dr. Jan Shifren at Newton Wellesley Hospital. At my initial assessment, Dr. Shifren walked me through every single step of the process and answered all the questions I could come up with. It only takes a quick google search to learn she's internationally recognized as one of the top physicians in her field of expertise and she's been published in more journals than I could count. What a google search doesn't tell you is how truly wonderful she is as a person. Dr. Shifren is so thoughtful, knowledgeable, transparent, upfront and honest. I never felt rushed at our appointments (virtual and in-person) and Dr. Shifren was by my side, from start to finish. She has a truly incredible team of nurses, technicians and administrators who keep you feeling positive throughout the journey and take great care of you at each appointment. After meeting with Dr. Shifren, I worked with her billing department to understand all the financial costs associated with the procedure and they gave me a very easy to understand price breakdown. A few months after our initial appointment it was March of 2022, and I was ready to go. At that time I started working very closely with Zuzana, her incredible nurse who was by my side for the next 2 weeks walking me through the process. Zuzana and her colleagues were very quick to respond to my emails with questions or concerns and always had all the answers right away. Once the process begins, you are going into their office at NWH anywhere from 2-4 times a week for blood draws and ultrasounds. All the ultrasound technicians are great and be sure to get your blood drawn by Grace, she will make your day every time you see her. I felt really taken care of on an emotional and physical level which is what you want and what you need to get through this process. My patient experience could not have been any better and I would highly recommend choosing Dr. Shifren and her team at NWH if you are looking into freezing your eggs. -Melissa

I saw Dr. Sakamuri for some irregular bleeding, she suggested I go back on birth control to stop…read morethe bleeding. when I told her I was not willing to because the side effects were too severe in the past, she was super rude and judgmental and said I "might as well be on prenatal vitamins" even though she knew I had no intention of getting pregnant. Perhaps there isn't another known solution for my irregular bleeding, but it's unacceptable to shame a patient like that. Like any drug, Birth control has side effects and women deserve to know the full truth so they can make educated choices on their own. Not be shamed or scared by their health care providers without proper information. Perhaps Sakamuri only cares to prescribe medications so she can cut herself a check. It's truly sad that myself and other women have to face this type of judgement in a space that is supposed to be safe for everyone to make informed decisions about their own bodies.

I came here following Yelp advice. I got to say I was…read moredisappointed. Here is why: 1. The doctor spent a total of 5 minutes in the room with me. I felt like she was in a rush to go somewhere else. I felt like she was judgmental when I answered some of her questions and she scolded me. I do not go to the OBGYN to be patronized. I also felt like she refused to answer some of my questions. 2. My pap test was sent to a lab that was not in network with my insurance company resulting in me having to pay for a test that should be covered 100% . I am still fighting this with my insurance company and hope for a good outcome. However, I had NEVER had another doctor send my tests to a lab that is not covered by my insurance and I have had the same insurance for years. If the doctor is taking my insurance, shouldn't she make sure to send the tests to a similar facility? I was never asked if I had any preference on the lab handling my tests. 3. My prescription was incorrectly sent to my pharmacy. This would not be a big deal but my pharmacy is kind of retarded (Express Scripts) and sent the incorrect prescription to me immediately without me having the chance to verify it. The incorrect dosage caused me to end up paying 3 times as much for my medication. In order to correct it, I had to call the doctor's office 2 times to ask them to re submit the prescription. The first lady that I talked to was really mean and refused to send the prescription to me directly, it was not until I called again one week later and talked to someone else that my problem was resolved. Still, I did not need to wait two weeks and spend time making calls back and forth between pharmacy and doctor's office. 4. No parking Validation, I would assume that the office would have some kind of deal with the building but no, 6 dollar parking every time I don't think I am going back to this practice next year. I have had much better experiences elsewhere and I am tempted to make the trip back to Virginia to see my old doctor next year.
